The International Association for the Development of Apnea (AIDA) was founded in 1992 “by Freedivers, For Freedivers”, to organize the worldwide community and gain recognition for the emerging sport of freediving.
As the symbol of freediving, AIDA has developed a core set of values to guide the sport as it evolves in a rapidly growing market:
•Safety - through ongoing research, standardization, and education.
•Fairness - lead by consistent evaluation of all athletic performances in the international competition circuit and followed at all the levels of the organization.
•Accessibility - through its structure of National representatives that ensure proximity and affordability in all corners of the world.
AIDA was developed as an umbrella organization to cover all aspects of the sport and the synergies between competition, education and community are the foundation of its uniqueness - an association dedicated to “All Freediving and Nothing but Freediving”.

Amazing❤
Thank you!
4:28:41 wtf is wrong with them? Are they blind?! She was pointing with her fingers as he was tapping on her back like a damn I...ot! She was okay they should not have gotten her out. This is so unfair. I hope she fired that coach
Hi, what happened there was that Yuriko had not responded to her coach tapping for an OK signal, twice in a row. Therefore the judge followed the rules and had the safety get her out. Yuriko checked the camera and made a protest. The judges considered the protest and allowed her a restart, resulting not only in a white card with 07:36 minutes but also 3rd place in the ranking plus a Continental Record for Asia which is extraordinary given it was her second dive of over 7 minutes in the same day.
Great job!! No medal presentation?
Ceremony is happening in the evening, and there will be an aftermovie to watch it all 🙂
what a great dive to all athletes....
Go David!!
1:55:23 her fricking coach was at fault for her red card. I hope she fired him right on the spot. She needs a new coach this one is awful
I was the coach for the athlete. my friend unfortunately failed the protocol by not showing the sign before saying "im ok" and doing protocol facing me, not to the judge. Its understandable as she was quite hypoxic, not very experienced in STA comp environment and didnt took the time to breathe first as i was instructing. P.S. technically it was not possible to "fire me on the spot" as i wasnt employed nor was getting payed in the first place. Thank you for your comment and opportunity to clear things out
@@slashLTUDefinitely not your fault, she was clearly quite hypoxic , others arhletes who train STA sp regularly while very hypoxic could’ve pulled it off so with training she will learn from this and do better next time 🤙🙂
Sveikinimai Liutaurui iš LTU!! 🎉
Heike ist Wahnsinn!!! Glückwunsch!
Thanks for this great video... But one suggestion.... While commenting there is a sound of Waves thats very odd. Doesn't match with such an amazing freediving visuals. I highly suggest please avoid that sound or miniise it ..😊
Thanks for the suggestion.
46:19 why there's one athlete crawling? Is that valid instead of DNF movements?
thats a warm up lane, athlete decided to do a apnea crawl before their upcoming performance
@@slashLTU yes exactly, thank you for explaining!
❤❤❤
Thank you!
It's a great stream and great commentary. But after each heat the results should be displayed or at least shared with the commentator. Otherwise you just see the athletes perform without really knowing how they're performing.
We are working on this. For now, the approximate results - usually +/-5m - are shown on the screen while athletes are diving, plus the results of the first half are shown at the beginning and at the end of the break for the top 15 athletes. Additionally, you can look up results on the official event page here: bit.ly/32ndAidaWCH

It’s crazy to think she made this record the year I was born
Abdelatif is such a beautiful soul, showing a deep emotion without any restriction. For all of you who are making jokes of him would like to see what are the fears you are hiding deep inside your perfect no emotional life😘
37:36 that moment when it looks like she forgot to pull the safety latch for the exit l so when he opens his eyes, the whole world stops and only a calm head for a safe and happy exit
She did. She was suffering from nitrogen narcosis or whatever it’s called.

Really enjoyed AIDA in Cyprus. Kind Regards Billy ( Belfast )
Thank you!
I was in Cyprus in the Park Beach Hotel when the AIDA free diving was on. It was a pleasure to meet and talk to Catherine the commentator and the safety diver Sani ( probably the wrong spelling, please forgive me ) at the hotel. He put the AIDA on my iPhone a true gentleman. Two really nice people. All the best Catherine for the future. Sani all the best and please keep safe my friend. Kind Regards from Billy ( Belfast )
Thank you, we'll forward your compliments!
Hey Billy, how are you, it's Catherine. Just seen this post, just finished the pool wcs in Lithuania. You have just made my day. Greetings ❤
Nice to hear from you Catherine hope you are well. Just arrived home to Belfast after 9 weeks in Cyprus. You take care and all the best for the future.
These commentators are terrible
Well done!
the first diver with 40 m depth, :) it's like mate, where did you go? :) extremely long dive, very relaxed, good training dive
Cutting the feed whenever there is a blackout is really offputting for viewers and potential new freedivers. Hiding these things only creates fear and suspicion and is a discredit to the amazing safety divers. People need to see this to learn the reality of freediving.
Congrats everyone! Everything was perfect axcept presenters! The man has a strange smile during blackouts 👀 unpleasant both
Les organisateurs de ces compétitions sont de dangereux IRRESPONSABLES
Odd that somebody chooses to pack for dives in 50 metres range. Not necessary
A quand l'interdiction de ces compétions morbides? C'est une honte et contraire à l'éthique sportive.
