Those original boots are the cheapest pieces of junk! I would love to do this on my own but looks a big fidgety.

Thats not an interior strip its just the gearboot ???

Actually the gearstick boot has a much easier method of removal, less damaging to the leather anyway. You start at the rectangular base, diagrams here too: www.fordforums.com.au/vbportal/viewarticle.php?articleid=1491 The method in the video looks overly damaging to the top of the faux leather.
