They could’ve had Piastri, Alonso and Jack Doohan and/or Victor Martins/Isaak Hadjar as a reserve until his retirement. Both former Principals Otmar Szafnauer and Cyril Abiteboul have revealed how dysfunctional the operation was in France. They’ve forced everyone out, including Alain Prost, and now Esteban Ocon who has been loyal to them for years, regardless of his problematic nature.

We are told all the time how clever everybody is F1 is, despite evidence to the contrary. Bernie Ecclestone got it right, they are good at spending money, but they don't spend it smartly. A bunch of kids in a sweet shop. Now too many FIA officials are amateur or incompetent or both. We don't need silly expensive cars to have exciting racing. The drivers had more fun driving cars 40 years ago, big heavy cars that are too wide for the circuits they race on are a fundamental design error.

F1 was at its peak in the 70s and 80s the FIA became intimately involved and then everything is as it is now F1 cars are like showroom cars each cars the same shape engine electrics hydraulics suspension you name it there’s no innovation anymore. Remember ABS.. and many other innovations that developed with Formula One car companies that’s what made it exciting all that’s gone..

Its all about sponsorship. When Lewis goes sponsors will go as well. They need to position Russel as a driver that is able to lead the team. That is hard to do when he is behind Lewis. It is hard to remember that this is entertainment. It is important to keep the teams balanced and to keep viewer interest and sponsorship revenues high. Its not personal It is business.

They are not many drivers in formula one today who can beat Max with the same car. McLaren have two brilliant drivers who can beat Max if given the same car ,Lewis have already prove that he can . Russell and Charles lack to patience and skill to cope.
