I like that you have this structure, but it's difficult to follow without gameplay or trailer footage of your examples. It would also help for you to spend maybe 20-30 minutes cutting out some rambling bits, stumbling over words, or dead silences. If you did a "radio edit", it would go a long way toward leaning this into a podcast style talk. Cheers! I love EndWar. 15/10 is too low!

Thanks for the feedback. We're always looking to improve the quality of the videos. Since this review was recorded the microphone and recording/editing software have been replaced. The new software should allow including gameplay video, where appropriate. Keep in touch and let us know what you think of the next video about the game "Brew Barons" coming this week.

Good video, man. I was thinking about picking this up and I believe that I'm going to try it out now, after this. Seems like a decent time.

comment about the "time commitment": that's just the x series. an ftl implementation is not necessary, due to the "highways" and "gates", which are essentially for that purpose; however, i have to say at start the game can be seen as generally a bit "slower" to get things (AKA money) off the ground, but once you build up a fleet of ships, it gets much more interesting; also the ai is decently capable... still not amazing and totally reliable even after all the patches, but i'd say good enough for the most part to play the game entirely from the map almost... i haven't played too far into it yet, but if it's anywhere like x3:tc where the captains can be trained to travel throughout the galaxy and trade all by themselves, equip / upgrade ships, fight or flee if a certain threshold is reached of shield depletion / hull, then that's at least for me the way to play the majority of the game, letting at running throughout the night and / or day, and then when checking back you'd have made a bunch of monies... that worked at least beautifully w/ x3:tc

another criticism, what's this x/15 rating, it's not even explained / broken down how you came to the first, and how you came to the latter number; same with the "overall score" of a decimal value. i dislike ratings that have a higher range of rating than 5, it just does not make any sense, you can as well then do x out of 100 or 1000 or 58 or whatever, it's just weird because any larger maximum rating than 5 is in most cases just unnecessary and therefore silly

I appreciate the feedback. The x/15 rating system is the result of a review of psychological literature regarding ratings and scoring systems. Overall scores are obtained by dividing the sum of the previous scores by three. It can be translated into into other scoring systems by multiplying the overall score by .66 or 16.66 respectively.

like: full disclosure, analytical presentation dislike: not sure why you're not actually showing the gameplay; also, audio cuts-in-out between "scenes" (screenshots); it gives this whole vid (i haven't looked @ any of your other vids btw) an outdated feel, like it's a ppt presentation, on a platform that's literally made for video. recommendation: record while playing the game and talk at key moments explaining things - you can always adjust the audio during edit - and once done edit the vid by cutting out the pieces that aren't important to your explanation, plus transition from one scene to the next (whatever transition appeals most to you) and you're done the real issue with how it's currently is, it's the audio artifacts of your voice as soon as a new scene starts

Thanks for the feedback. I've debated using captured video many times prior to starting the channel. My concern is that it would distract from the points made with moving pictures. Are there games that you'd like to see analyzed?

One thing that may be good to make clear is if a lower score is better than a higher score or vice versa. Enjoyed the review!
