Nouman Ali Khan is the best Quran teacher I've ever witnessed. I personally learnt from him Live. He is far better than those who complicate our Deen with anti-islam mindset. He is the one who brings peace by the words of Allah and subha-Allah people now creating such propaganda against him. Subhan-Allah how many trials this duniya brings. Chairman : Shaykh Abdul-`Aziz ibn `Abdullah ibn Baz 2/3 An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "The scholars are unanimously agreed that it is not permissible to pray with one's sleeves or garment rolled up and the like, or with one's hair braided or with one's hair wrapped up beneath the turban and so on. All of that is not permissible according to the consensus of the scholars, and it is makrooh in the sense of being discouraged and not proper. If a person prays like that, he has done something wrong but his prayer is valid." [Sharh Muslim 209] In Fath al-Qadeer (1/418), which is a Hanafi book, it says: It is also makrooh to pray with the sleeves rolled up, baring the forearms. End quote. In Tuhfat al-Muhtaaj (2/162), which is a Shaafa'i book, it says: It is makrooh to wrap or tie his hair or roll or tuck up his garment, such as rolling up his sleeves or tucking up his hem, even if he only did that in order to work, or he is offering the funeral prayer, because of the hadeeth the soundness of which is agreed upon, "I have been commanded to prostrate on seven bones, and not to roll or tuck up my garment or hair." The reason why that is not allowed when prostrating is that it is contrary to proper focus and humility. End quote. 3/3 In Kashshaaf al-Qinaa' (1/373), which is a Hanbali book, it says: It is makrooh to roll or tuck up one's garment. Some of the scholars mentioned the reason for this prohibition as being that the hair and so on prostrate with a person and it is makrooh to roll up the sleeves. This was stated in al-Ri'aayah, for the mentioned reason above. If he does that - i.e., tucks up the hair and rolls up his garment and so on, because of some work that he was doing before the prayer, it is makrooh for him to leave them like that, because of what is stated above, and because of the hadeeth of Ibn 'Abbaas, according to which he saw 'Abd-Allah ibn al-Haarith praying with his hair braided at the back. He stood up and undid his braid. When 'Abd-Allah had finished praying, he came to Ibn 'Abbaas and said: What have you to do with my head? He said: I heard the Prophet )ﷺ( say: "The likeness of such a one is that of a person who prays when he is tied up. Narrated by Muslim. End quote.

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said: This manner of sitting was described by the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) as being the manner of sitting of those with whom Allah is angry. As for placing both hands behind one’s back and leaning on them both, there is nothing wrong with that, or if he leans on his right hand, there is nothing wrong with it. Rather that which the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) described as the manner of sitting of those with whom Allah is angry is placing the left hand behind one’s back and placing the heel of the hand on the ground and leaning on it. This is what the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) described as the manner of sitting of those with whom Allah is angry. End quote. Sharh Riyadh as-Saaliheen (p. 930) He also said: The meaning of the hadith is clear; it means that a person should not lean on his left hand placing it behind him, placing the palm on the ground. The shaykh was asked: if a person’s intention in sitting in this manner is to rest, and not to imitate the Jews, is he sinning by doing that? May Allah forgive us, how and why is he still commenting on matters of translation when he publically makes blunders of errors in basic Arabic and can't even read the Qur'an, this is serious, this is the religion of Allah, you'll not find this from among the Salaf, it was from the minimal requirements to be even considered a student of knowledge! People should read the statement of al-Imaam al-Asma'i regarding this issue, and Ibn Hazm as well! May Allah guide us! By the way, Abu Usamah al-Dhahabi cleared the issue of the Clear Qur'an in a video, so people can refer to that video!

1/3 “And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead others from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.” (Luqmān: 6) The “amusement of speech’ is singing as was explained by a group of the Sahābah such as Ibn Mas’ūd (radiyallāhu ‘anhu). There is a hadeeth reported in Saheeh Al-Bukhāri (no. 5590) that the Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) said: “There will be a people at the end of time who will make permissible fornication, silk (for men), wine and musical instruments ―Allah will cause the earth to swallow them up.” The Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) put musical instruments alongside fornication, wearing of silk for men and the drinking of wine (alcohol) ―all of these things are harām. So this proves that music is harām ―that includes musical instruments and singing. (See Al-Jāmi’ fī Fiqhil-‘Allāmah Ibn Bāz, p. 1203) Allah stated: “And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead others from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.” (Luqmān: 6) Ibn ‘Abbās said: “It refers to singing.” (Tafsīr At-Tabari) Hasan Al-Basrī: said: “The verse was revealed concerning flutes and singing.” (Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr) Ibn Mas’ūd said: “By Allah besides whom there is none worthy of worship, it refers to singing.” And he repeated it three times. And the same was reported from Ibn ‘Umar. (See Ighāthatul-Luhfān of Ibn Al-Qayyim) 2/3 Shaikh Al-Albānī explained that the hadeeths forbidding musical instruments are clearcut without ambiguity, except for the simple drum that is played by women at weddings or on ‘Eid. The Four Imāms: Abu Hanīfah, Mālik, Shāfi’i and Ahmad are in agreement upon this forbiddance. (See As-Saheehah 1/145) An-Nahās (rahimahullah) stated: “It (music and singing) is forbidden by the Book and Sunnah.” At-Tabaree stated: “The scholars of the various lands are in agreement regarding the dislike of singing (and music) and it’s prohibition.” Imām Al-Awzā’ee stated: “Do not enter a waleemah (wedding) where there is singing and music.” Shaikhul-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah stated: “The position of the Imāms of the Four Schools of Jurisprudence is that all musical instruments are harām… and it is not narrated from any of the followers of the Imāms that they disputed concerning this.” (Majmū’ al-Fatawa) The Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wassallam) said: “There will be people from my Ummah who will make fornication, wearing silk, intoxicants and musical instruments halāl… Allah will destroy them during the night, causing the mountain to fall on them, transforming others into monkeys and pigs..” (Bukhārī no. 5590) Al-Awzā’ī said that ‘Umar b. ‘Abdul-‘Azīz (d. 101AH) wrote to ‘Umar b. Al-Walīd stating at the end, “Your openly allowing musical instruments and flutes is an innovation in Islam. I was considering sending someone to cut off your evil forelock of hair!” (Nasā’ī no. 4135, Sahīh) 3/3 The four Imaams Imam Abu Haneefah (80 148 AH) forbids ‘listening to all musical instruments, all types of tambourines, hand drums, and even the striking of sticks. [Aloosi, Rooh aI-Ma’ani] Imam Shafi‘i (150-204 AH) said about music and singing; “Verily, song is loathsome; it resembles the false and vain thing. The one who partakes of it frequently is an incompetent fool whose testimony is to be rejected.” [Imam Muhammad ibn Idrees Shafi’i, Kitab aI-Umm (Egypt: Maktaba aI Kulliyat al-Azhar 1381 AH), 8:311]. In addition, it has been clarified by many of his closest students that Imam Shafi‘i’s position on the issue of music is that of prohibition. Imam Malik (93-179 AH), it is generally understood that he found it to be haram, except for certain forms of innocent singing (without instruments and without mixed gatherings), which he allowed. Imam Ibn Taymiyah mentioned that when Is-haq ibn Moosa asked Imam Malik about the view of people of Madinah regarding singing, Imam Malik replied: “Here, in fact, that is done only by the sinful once.” [Shaykh ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, Risalah Waj’d wa Sama (Lahore: Al-Hilal Book Agency 1365 Ah] Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (164-241 AH) forbade all but those forms of music that have been mentioned as exceptions in the Sunnah. Imam Ibn al-Jawzi writes in his book Talbees Iblees that when Imam Ahmad was asked by Abdullah, his own son and student, about his position on music, the Imam replied: “Singing sprouts hypocrisy in the heart; it does not please me.” [Ibn al-Jawzi, Talbees Ibless]

A lot of people are throwing shade but I was a revert and received the Clear Quran and it wasnt coming through to the point I ended up buying around 5 translations([clear]Khattab, Yusuf Ali, Muhammad Asas, Ahmed Ali, Ahmet Didin, Muhsin Khan, and saheeh) I agree that the saheeh international is a great simple Quran and Muhsin Khan Quran is great to start learning some arabic slowly as well as to learn about tafseer and so forth.

➢ Moreover, there are numerous evidences which explicitly describe the angels as being males, such as the ḥadīth of Samurah raḍhiyallāhu ’anhu that the Prophet ﷺ said: ((...فأتينا على رجل كريه المرآة، كأكره ما أنت راء رجلاً مرآة، وإذا عنده نار يحشها ويسعى حولها، قال: قلت لهما: ما هذا؟ قال: قالا لي: انطلق))...((وأما الرجل الكريه المرآة، الذي عند النار يحشها ويسعى حولها، فإنه مالك خازن جهنم)) “we proceeded till we came to a man with a repulsive appearance, the most repulsive appearance, you ever saw a man having! Beside him there was a fire and he was kindling it and running around it...The bad looking man whom you saw near the fire kindling it and going around it, was Mālik, the gatekeeper of Hell.” [Bukhāri 7047] This ḥadīth clearly proves that the Angel entrusted with watching over the Hellfire is a male. • Another evidence which indicates this is the statement of Allāh: {وَلَوۡ جَعَلۡنَـٰهُ مَلَكࣰا لَّجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ رَجُلࣰا} “And if We had sent an angel, We would have certainly made it ˹assume the form of˺ a man...” [Sūrah Al-An’ām: 9] • Likewise, the angels would come to the Prophets and righteous in the form of men, as found in many evidences. • Also, Sheikh Yaḥyā mentioned in last night's lesson that the Messengers of Allāh are all male, whether from the humankind or from the angels. Allāh ﷻ said: {وَمَاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالࣰا} “We did not send ˹messengers˺ before you ˹O Prophet˺ except men.” [Sūrah An-Naḥl: 43] 🔺Final note: Affirming that angels are males does not necessarily mean they possess the male reproductive organ, because this is from the affairs of the unseen which we have no knowledge concerning, the same way that affirming the glorification of inanimate objects for Allāh [see Sūrah Al-Isrā’: 44] does not necessarily mean they possess the organ of speech. t.me/madrasatuna

BENEFIT 43: The gender of Angels Sheikh Yūsuf Al-Jazā'iri ḥafidhahullāh said (paraphrasing):The correct view in this matter is that the angels are male, and this is supported by many evidences: ▪️ It is authentically reported from Abū Miljaz (Lāḥiq ibn Ḥumaid) raḥimahullāh (who was from the Tābi’ēn), that he said: «إنهم ذكور وليسوا بإناث» “They (the angels) are males and not females.” [Reported by Aṭ-Ṭabarī in his Tafsīr (Sūrah Al-A’rāf: 46) with an authentic chain] Sheikh Yūsuf said: “He (Abū miljaz) is a Thiqah (credible authority) as mentioned by Adh-Dhahabi and Ibn ’Abdil Barr...and to my knowledge, no one has opposed him in his statement from Ṣaḥābah nor from the Tābi’ēn...thus his statement holds more weight that of anyone else who came after him.” 🔺Note: Sheikh Yūsuf said: “As for those who say, the angels are neither male nor female, then I have not come across anyone from the Salaf who uttered this statement. Rather, this opinion was mentioned by some of the Ashā’irah, like Al-Ḥulaimi, Al-Qūnī, As-Suyūṭi, and others. 🔺Note: As for the statement that is attributed to Sa’ēd ibn Al-Musayyab raḥimahullāh, that he said: «الملائكة عليهم السلام ليسوا بذكور ولا إناث ولا يتوالدون ولا يأكلون ولا يشربون» “The angels, peace be upon them, are neither male nor female, nor do they reproduce, nor do they eat or drink,” then this is NOT AUTHENTIC! ➢ Also when Sheikh ibn Bāz raḥimahullāh was asked concerning the ruling of describing nurses as angels of Mercy, he answered: “It is not permissible to use this description, since ANGELS ARE MALES AND NOT FEMALES. Allāh (سبحانه) disapproved when the Mushriks (Polytheists) claimed that angels were females. Moreover, true angels of mercy are not similar to nurses, who can be kind or wicked. Thus, it is not permissible to use this description with nurses. Allāh is the Grantor of success.” [Majmū’ Al-Fatāwa Ibn Bāz (8/423)]

1/3: Fatwa no. 8598 Q 4: Does rolling up the sleeves count as part of the tucking up that is not allowed during Salah?If it is part of that tucking up, does the ruling differ if I start praying with my sleeves rolled up, meaning, I do not roll them up during the Salah, or does it make no difference? A: It is not permissible to roll up the sleeves or to fold them up before the Salah or during it to avoid that they will touch the ground when performing Sujud (prostration), because the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, I have been commanded to pray on seven bones and not to tuck up my hair or my clothes. [Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions. The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta. Chairman : Shaykh Abdul-`Aziz ibn `Abdullah ibn Baz 2/3 An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "The scholars are unanimously agreed that it is not permissible to pray with one's sleeves or garment rolled up and the like, or with one's hair braided or with one's hair wrapped up beneath the turban and so on. All of that is not permissible according to the consensus of the scholars, and it is makrooh in the sense of being discouraged and not proper. If a person prays like that, he has done something wrong but his prayer is valid." [Sharh Muslim 209] In Fath al-Qadeer (1/418), which is a Hanafi book, it says: It is also makrooh to pray with the sleeves rolled up, baring the forearms. End quote. In Tuhfat al-Muhtaaj (2/162), which is a Shaafa'i book, it says: It is makrooh to wrap or tie his hair or roll or tuck up his garment, such as rolling up his sleeves or tucking up his hem, even if he only did that in order to work, or he is offering the funeral prayer, because of the hadeeth the soundness of which is agreed upon, "I have been commanded to prostrate on seven bones, and not to roll or tuck up my garment or hair." The reason why that is not allowed when prostrating is that it is contrary to proper focus and humility. End quote. 3/3 In Kashshaaf al-Qinaa' (1/373), which is a Hanbali book, it says: It is makrooh to roll or tuck up one's garment. Some of the scholars mentioned the reason for this prohibition as being that the hair and so on prostrate with a person and it is makrooh to roll up the sleeves. This was stated in al-Ri'aayah, for the mentioned reason above. If he does that - i.e., tucks up the hair and rolls up his garment and so on, because of some work that he was doing before the prayer, it is makrooh for him to leave them like that, because of what is stated above, and because of the hadeeth of Ibn 'Abbaas, according to which he saw 'Abd-Allah ibn al-Haarith praying with his hair braided at the back. He stood up and undid his braid. When 'Abd-Allah had finished praying, he came to Ibn 'Abbaas and said: What have you to do with my head? He said: I heard the Prophet )ﷺ( say: "The likeness of such a one is that of a person who prays when he is tied up. Narrated by Muslim. End quote.
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said: This manner of sitting was described by the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) as being the manner of sitting of those with whom Allah is angry. As for placing both hands behind one’s back and leaning on them both, there is nothing wrong with that, or if he leans on his right hand, there is nothing wrong with it. Rather that which the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) described as the manner of sitting of those with whom Allah is angry is placing the left hand behind one’s back and placing the heel of the hand on the ground and leaning on it. This is what the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) described as the manner of sitting of those with whom Allah is angry. End quote. Sharh Riyadh as-Saaliheen (p. 930) He also said: The meaning of the hadith is clear; it means that a person should not lean on his left hand placing it behind him, placing the palm on the ground. The shaykh was asked: if a person’s intention in sitting in this manner is to rest, and not to imitate the Jews, is he sinning by doing that? He replied: If that is his intention, then let him put the right hand with it, then the prohibition will no longer apply. End quote. Fataawa Noor ‘ala ad-Darb (111/19)

1/3 “And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead others from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.” (Luqmān: 6) The “amusement of speech’ is singing as was explained by a group of the Sahābah such as Ibn Mas’ūd (radiyallāhu ‘anhu). There is a hadeeth reported in Saheeh Al-Bukhāri (no. 5590) that the Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) said: “There will be a people at the end of time who will make permissible fornication, silk (for men), wine and musical instruments ―Allah will cause the earth to swallow them up.” The Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) put musical instruments alongside fornication, wearing of silk for men and the drinking of wine (alcohol) ―all of these things are harām. So this proves that music is harām ―that includes musical instruments and singing. (See Al-Jāmi’ fī Fiqhil-‘Allāmah Ibn Bāz, p. 1203) Allah stated: “And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead others from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.” (Luqmān: 6) Ibn ‘Abbās said: “It refers to singing.” (Tafsīr At-Tabari) Hasan Al-Basrī: said: “The verse was revealed concerning flutes and singing.” (Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr) Ibn Mas’ūd said: “By Allah besides whom there is none worthy of worship, it refers to singing.” And he repeated it three times. And the same was reported from Ibn ‘Umar. (See Ighāthatul-Luhfān of Ibn Al-Qayyim) 2/3 Shaikh Al-Albānī explained that the hadeeths forbidding musical instruments are clearcut without ambiguity, except for the simple drum that is played by women at weddings or on ‘Eid. The Four Imāms: Abu Hanīfah, Mālik, Shāfi’i and Ahmad are in agreement upon this forbiddance. (See As-Saheehah 1/145) An-Nahās (rahimahullah) stated: “It (music and singing) is forbidden by the Book and Sunnah.” At-Tabaree stated: “The scholars of the various lands are in agreement regarding the dislike of singing (and music) and it’s prohibition.” Imām Al-Awzā’ee stated: “Do not enter a waleemah (wedding) where there is singing and music.” Shaikhul-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah stated: “The position of the Imāms of the Four Schools of Jurisprudence is that all musical instruments are harām… and it is not narrated from any of the followers of the Imāms that they disputed concerning this.” (Majmū’ al-Fatawa) The Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wassallam) said: “There will be people from my Ummah who will make fornication, wearing silk, intoxicants and musical instruments halāl… Allah will destroy them during the night, causing the mountain to fall on them, transforming others into monkeys and pigs..” (Bukhārī no. 5590) Al-Awzā’ī said that ‘Umar b. ‘Abdul-‘Azīz (d. 101AH) wrote to ‘Umar b. Al-Walīd stating at the end, “Your openly allowing musical instruments and flutes is an innovation in Islam. I was considering sending someone to cut off your evil forelock of hair!” (Nasā’ī no. 4135, Sahīh) 3/3 The four Imaams Imam Abu Haneefah (80 148 AH) forbids ‘listening to all musical instruments, all types of tambourines, hand drums, and even the striking of sticks. [Aloosi, Rooh aI-Ma’ani] Imam Shafi‘i (150-204 AH) said about music and singing; “Verily, song is loathsome; it resembles the false and vain thing. The one who partakes of it frequently is an incompetent fool whose testimony is to be rejected.” [Imam Muhammad ibn Idrees Shafi’i, Kitab aI-Umm (Egypt: Maktaba aI Kulliyat al-Azhar 1381 AH), 8:311]. In addition, it has been clarified by many of his closest students that Imam Shafi‘i’s position on the issue of music is that of prohibition. Imam Malik (93-179 AH), it is generally understood that he found it to be haram, except for certain forms of innocent singing (without instruments and without mixed gatherings), which he allowed. Imam Ibn Taymiyah mentioned that when Is-haq ibn Moosa asked Imam Malik about the view of people of Madinah regarding singing, Imam Malik replied: “Here, in fact, that is done only by the sinful once.” [Shaykh ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, Risalah Waj’d wa Sama (Lahore: Al-Hilal Book Agency 1365 Ah] Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (164-241 AH) forbade all but those forms of music that have been mentioned as exceptions in the Sunnah. Imam Ibn al-Jawzi writes in his book Talbees Iblees that when Imam Ahmad was asked by Abdullah, his own son and student, about his position on music, the Imam replied: “Singing sprouts hypocrisy in the heart; it does not please me.” [Ibn al-Jawzi, Talbees Ibless]

A lot of people are throwing shade but I was a revert and received the Clear Quran and it wasnt coming through to the point I ended up buying around 5 translations([clear]Khattab, Yusuf Ali, Muhammad Asas, Ahmed Ali, Ahmet Didin, Muhsin Khan, and saheeh) I agree that the saheeh international is a great simple Quran and Muhsin Khan Quran is great to start learning some arabic slowly as well as to learn about tafseer and so forth.

➢ Moreover, there are numerous evidences which explicitly describe the angels as being males, such as the ḥadīth of Samurah raḍhiyallāhu ’anhu that the Prophet ﷺ said: ((...فأتينا على رجل كريه المرآة، كأكره ما أنت راء رجلاً مرآة، وإذا عنده نار يحشها ويسعى حولها، قال: قلت لهما: ما هذا؟ قال: قالا لي: انطلق))...((وأما الرجل الكريه المرآة، الذي عند النار يحشها ويسعى حولها، فإنه مالك خازن جهنم)) “we proceeded till we came to a man with a repulsive appearance, the most repulsive appearance, you ever saw a man having! Beside him there was a fire and he was kindling it and running around it...The bad looking man whom you saw near the fire kindling it and going around it, was Mālik, the gatekeeper of Hell.” [Bukhāri 7047] This ḥadīth clearly proves that the Angel entrusted with watching over the Hellfire is a male. • Another evidence which indicates this is the statement of Allāh: {وَلَوۡ جَعَلۡنَـٰهُ مَلَكࣰا لَّجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ رَجُلࣰا} “And if We had sent an angel, We would have certainly made it ˹assume the form of˺ a man...” [Sūrah Al-An’ām: 9] • Likewise, the angels would come to the Prophets and righteous in the form of men, as found in many evidences. • Also, Sheikh Yaḥyā mentioned in last night's lesson that the Messengers of Allāh are all male, whether from the humankind or from the angels. Allāh ﷻ said: {وَمَاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالࣰا} “We did not send ˹messengers˺ before you ˹O Prophet˺ except men.” [Sūrah An-Naḥl: 43] 🔺Final note: Affirming that angels are males does not necessarily mean they possess the male reproductive organ, because this is from the affairs of the unseen which we have no knowledge concerning, the same way that affirming the glorification of inanimate objects for Allāh [see Sūrah Al-Isrā’: 44] does not necessarily mean they possess the organ of speech. t.me/madrasatuna
BENEFIT 43: The gender of Angels Sheikh Yūsuf Al-Jazā'iri ḥafidhahullāh said (paraphrasing):The correct view in this matter is that the angels are male, and this is supported by many evidences: ▪️ It is authentically reported from Abū Miljaz (Lāḥiq ibn Ḥumaid) raḥimahullāh (who was from the Tābi’ēn), that he said: «إنهم ذكور وليسوا بإناث» “They (the angels) are males and not females.” [Reported by Aṭ-Ṭabarī in his Tafsīr (Sūrah Al-A’rāf: 46) with an authentic chain] Sheikh Yūsuf said: “He (Abū miljaz) is a Thiqah (credible authority) as mentioned by Adh-Dhahabi and Ibn ’Abdil Barr...and to my knowledge, no one has opposed him in his statement from Ṣaḥābah nor from the Tābi’ēn...thus his statement holds more weight that of anyone else who came after him.” 🔺Note: Sheikh Yūsuf said: “As for those who say, the angels are neither male nor female, then I have not come across anyone from the Salaf who uttered this statement. Rather, this opinion was mentioned by some of the Ashā’irah, like Al-Ḥulaimi, Al-Qūnī, As-Suyūṭi, and others. 🔺Note: As for the statement that is attributed to Sa’ēd ibn Al-Musayyab raḥimahullāh, that he said: «الملائكة عليهم السلام ليسوا بذكور ولا إناث ولا يتوالدون ولا يأكلون ولا يشربون» “The angels, peace be upon them, are neither male nor female, nor do they reproduce, nor do they eat or drink,” then this is NOT AUTHENTIC! ➢ Also when Sheikh ibn Bāz raḥimahullāh was asked concerning the ruling of describing nurses as angels of Mercy, he answered: “It is not permissible to use this description, since ANGELS ARE MALES AND NOT FEMALES. Allāh (سبحانه) disapproved when the Mushriks (Polytheists) claimed that angels were females. Moreover, true angels of mercy are not similar to nurses, who can be kind or wicked. Thus, it is not permissible to use this description with nurses. Allāh is the Grantor of success.” [Majmū’ Al-Fatāwa Ibn Bāz (8/423)]
