Sounds great! What are the other controls in the bass? Is the Distiller CE running after another preamp right before the output? Noting they are East knobs is it a Uni-Pre?

@@bassimprovjams3772 yep, Dolphin 5 on that puppy. His MTD came after that was recorded. Uses it live though, although NP3 doesn't currently do live shows last he said.

where can I buy a similar ramp?
I've made all my own, except for one - on my blue/black/purple MTD 6. That one was part of the custom commission. There are too many variables for these to really be mass manufactured - you'll likely have to make your own or commission a luthier to make one for you!

@@Sergio-dh5qh I find minimal difference if any, and only benefits to using a rest stroke style of slapping.
@@CombinatorMusic amazing. Two more questions: Is the slap plate radiused like the contour of the body? 2- Is the slap plate more comfortable when it's not as close to the strings as a finger ramp? thanks a lot
@@Sergio-dh5qh not radiused, but I make mine higher on the bass side, and yes - all I've played have been lower than a fingerstyle ramp. Good luck!

Hello friend, I'm a grs lover, I have the gr-55, gr-33 and gr-20, I'm thinking about purchasing the gm-800, but I have some doubts. From your point of view, has it improved the issues of ghost notes and latency in relation to the grs?
I think they're both somewhat improved, but not to the point of not being an issue for bass players playing in their lower range, specifically.

It's more for sustained notes. But then again for short notes you wouldn't notice the quick decay anyway.
@@CombinatorMusic Make sense. I tried also to make a fake fret from a little inbus tool, puting it him right beside the critical fret, and play the note and sustain increses on that way too😳. So maybe guitar needs a proper tech to fix all the frets.
@@bertonedes It's generally not related to frets - it's a function of the mass and vibrational characteristics of the instrument - all instruments - from what I understand. In rare cases it could be worsened by a poorly seated fret, but any physical body will have one or more resonant frequencies. Suspension bridge engineers are acutely aware of this.
@@CombinatorMusic Amazing how complex is that. Bridge replacement can solve that problem?
@@bertonedes @bertonedes I was actually referring to real bridges! See: Tacoma Narrows Bridge for example. But replacing bass bridge may also help if its mass is different.

No, not about this. He' and Dan have made me 3 customs, and I have a great relationship with them as an MTD artist, but I didn't see a need to bug them about this.
