    Thanks for the video, it was helpful when I put mine on today. Did you put the wind deflector on? They go onto the end cap piece. I had whistling (even after installing thicker side facing forward). It took 10 mins to slide those on and took away the whistling. The instructions didn’t include the deflector step, but the video on Amazon did. Hope this helps someone else too.

    Thanks, great video. I just completed this job on my 2001 Pathfinder. I found that you do NOT need to mess with the throttle body to get that middle plug out. The idle air controller right beneath the throttle body comes off easily with 2 screws, and that frees up the path to the tricky middle plug. Plus, while it's off you can inspect and clean it up for better idling. That was my experience anyway ✌️

    Great video! Did you replace throttle body gasket?? I have misfire code on #3, your opinion.. should I just replace all 6 plugs first to see if that fixes it?? Will be doing this to my '02 this week. Thanks

  • @xonkkram
    @xonkkram2 жыл бұрын

    I would replace the plugs if they haven't been replaced in over 50k miles. You could also swap #3 coil with another one and see if the code moves to that cylinder. That way you know for sure that the coil is bad. If I remember correctly I think the throttle body gasket is reusable.

    I'm in the middle of replacing the intake manifold gaskets, hoses underneath, and valve cover gaskets. Gives 100% access to it all that left side is really blocked up. It really isn't a lot of work to remove it just stay organized. Pretty much gauranteed the valve cover to cover hose is broken giving you a vacuum leak if it has never been changed. Dealer said they stock them well since it's so common.

  • @xonkkram

    All adjustments are electronically controlled and cannot be adjusted. However, if there is an air leak from that area, that could cause poor fuel economy.

    I'm not trying to shade anyone involved in this video or the people commenting, but I have professionally dealt with pouring cc for some thirty years and have even used these HF mixers before. Here's a tip: first, be realistic about how much cc you can place (mix) with them; they are small and what you just mixed will start to set immediately creating a problem with the next batch. Moisten the ground you are placing the cc on before you start so the moisture won't be sucked out of the batch you just mixed before the next drop. Be Realistic, you are only talking about a square foot of coverage with the load. Knit the two loads together at their "join" with a shovel and keep it small with a 2x4 mid-form so you are not trying to do too much. Also, don't spray water into the barrel before putting in the dry product, it will only cause clumping and create a bad mix. If you know someone with a 3/4 ton truck, have them pick up a mixer trailer (one yard) of cc and bring it to your project. This should produce 81 sq. feet of pad measured at 3 1/2". This is the only way you will get a decent result on a small project. Don't step over a dollar to pick up a dime.
