Like I said on Instagram imaging this one with the Batgirl PF and the TH bust next to each other. People were wanting this character for years and now we get 3 in quick time. This will surely be a hit and make many 🦇 collectors happy. Can't wait to see him painted. This is a big one for real. The only thing that is a negative for me is that buying LBS DC is more difficult. Todd is great no doubt about that. But I know that many collectors here in Europe prefer to buy in Europe. That is a only negative around the DC line that I can think off. For everything else only 👏👏👏👏👏 for Jay and LBS

What a video what a reveal show 👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👏👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍💯. Love the whole Justice League line up. Can't wait to see WW painted. Love the Talia tease. And Batgirl on bike 🤤🤤🤯🤯. I don't have the space in my Besta's for Superman and Batman. Mostly with the capes. So I'm still hoping that characters like WW and Flash will fit.

We have to be honest a "Comic" Con isn't about comics anymore. I can only speak for the European cons that I visit. But to guess I think that more then 70 percent of the visitors there never read a comic book in their life. Offcourse that is no problem, but it isn't a comic con anymore. In the 90s conventions became more popular with the comic speculation boom. And with the start of the MCU the second and more heavy boom came. The Marvel movies made superheroes "hip trendy and cool". When I was reading a Spiderman comic in school end late 80s. I got bullied because of it. When I visited my first con, the halls were smaller, there weren't big celebrities. You could walk around easier and there were more vendors with statues, toys and comics. The entrance price was also pretty low. Last month I visited Comic Con Brussels. It was impossible to move around the con. Vendors mostly sell pops, action figures, anime and manga. And most of the people only come for meeting the celebrities. Again nothing against that. It's amazing that our European cons get more and more big names as celebrity guests. But to be honest. I don't think that Comic Con started as: "meeting celebrities is what a comic con is all about". So sometimes I miss the feelinf from my first cons, it felt more like this is a place where I want to be. Now it feels more like, why are there so many people. 😊😅😂. And I feel old typing that ☺️😆🤭😂

Cons still can be a fun thing to attend. Whether it's a comic or horror con,I do love going and being around people with the same interests as me. They are, however, not as fun as they used to be. Things like merch, autographs;etc, etc are getting too expensive. Plus, dealing with the huge crowds can be a giant pain. They are getting bigger and more famous guests, again, which is nice. But bigger guests mean more people and higher priced autographs. Cons were a bit more fun like,20-30 years ago. Back when it was less crowded and more about love of comics or whatever. Now,they just feel like this huge money making machine. I find myself going to them less and less.

Huh, I'm from New England and this isn't the case up here at all. Our cons are large, mid-size, and small. My favorite is the Little Giant Old School Comic Show in Concord, NH. It is on the smaller end of Mid-Sized, but you get folks (attendees and vendors alike) from around the country, and some amazing Gold and Silver age books, as well as plenty of great stuff up through current. It's mostly the Fan Expos that are general pop culture. Tons of actual comic shows up here, though.

I was going to the San Diego Comic-con for several years and I didn't buy tickets for the SDCC 2024 because you don't see what you was seeing in the past years, I saw less interesting things + Hollywood, video games all is polluted with the diabolic and nasty woke agenda, the 2030 agenda, for that reason DC, Marvel, Starwars, Indiana Jones, Dr. Who, and more are dead. In addition I am a 1/6 figures collector and since Sideshow decided to leave the SDCC, I do not have any interest. People, I way to fight this woke garbage is do not consume their products, do not go to see all the woke movies and cancel your subscriptions to woke companies like Disney.

I think it’s easy for you, and not just you, other KZreadrs as well, to say it’s dead or they’ve become repetitive because you’ve gone to hundreds (I may be exaggerating but you get my point). There is another a side of it. A side that regular old collectors (like most of us) have never been and would love to be able to attend - but perhaps something is stopping them. Whether it be money or (like me) an inability or know-how to secure tickets, etc. There’s another side of the coin that shouldn’t be disregarded.

I would definitely agree that Comic-Con is kind of dead specifically New York Comic-Con is the one I attend to the most every year when I first started going it was amazing that has so many different replicas from different fandoms of film they had the jail prison home from The Walking Dead diorama hot toys have different figures and statues but ever since the pandemic and then the announcement that hot toys and different statues from Sideshow are not coming to these events I feel and I have heard it from different people who have attended year after year it lost its magic I remember going to Comic-Con 4 years ago and standing in line to climb on a dragon from Game of Thrones to take a picture now majority of the stuff they have is cardboard cutout dioramas I understand how to keep people safe to not have any spread of infection from coronavirus but I feel that some of the magic is gone they may have more panels now but some of the displays that they used to put so much hard-working is kind of gone and to make it even worse they are slowly increasing the price they did it this year and I think by next year is going to be $80 per day and it's gone to the point that I used to go 4 days now I cut it to 2 days now on Saturday and Friday or Saturday and Sunday or Friday and Sunday because it's not worth going 4 days anymore for me but at the end of the day I still plan to attend this year but yes I feel it's lost a lot of its magic and it needs to gain it back

I went to C2E2 this year for the first time in about 7 years. It's always been sort of "pop culture" event but I was still able to do all the "comic" related things I wanted to do. Yes, there is more anime, a lot of cosplay, but I still picked up a stack of silver age books, made cgc submissions and got to meet Sozomaika.

Awesome concept for new series! This was my second P1 - and absolutely will never leave the collection. Bermejo one of my favorite artist all time - and had the privilege meeting him at NYCC 2019 - Midtown Comics booth. Have this bookended near P1 Detective Comica 1000 (Fabok - another one of my favorite comic artists). 🤘🏼🃏🦇 .

I dont think comic cons are dying I think they are changing in an ever changing culture. I live in a town where it feels like we have at least 1 maybe 2 conventions every month some of them bigger some smaller, some completely comic focused others based on horror, pop culture, ect ect. So its hard for me to think their dying but they are definitely changing.

Coming from someone that read comics in the 80's into the late 90's I saw a shift in story telling of interesting characters in fantastical situations to what we're seeing in the past decade. We've seen writers pushing their personal beliefs and ideas that are a huge separation of what comics were meant to do which is to escape reality for a few moments. Japan for example, a couple years back, the online PC Mobs tried to bully Japan in changing their Manga and Anime stories and Japan told them to go kick rocks. They've been gaining a lot of Western readers BECAUSE Japan focuses on stories that are unique with appealing characters.

unfortunately the comic book industry has pretty much destroyed itself by removing basic moral constructs of what a super hero used to be and what he stood for with d.e.i.. comic book shops have gone out of business , story lines have no substance accept to push an agenda. were all at some time looking for escapism to get away from being lectured to , or the situations of our repetitious lives and to see our heroes right the wrongs of the world that we cant fix. manga has so far rejected the forced destruction of their art and stories for the sake of the new social constructs. thats why manga is out selling dc and marvel. i think as far as the comics go, theyve taken our greatest heroes and bastardized them to the point that theyve become something else. i think the word your looking for is WOKE CON as far as the comics go.

I used to go to comic cons to find old Batman and Detective comics that I couldn’t find in local shops. Now it is spending a lot of money to see a multitude of vendors selling Pops (which I hate) or pay exorbitant rates for a pros signature. I find it more enjoyable to go to smaller, local comic and toy shows.

Conventions are what you make of them. I've been attending XL and SM Cons both local and national for about a decade. What I've chosen to do at them over the years has evolved, and that change has greatly effected my experience. Know why you're actually there, do that, and you'll always have a great time.

I get it. I have a friend who is a vendor and renting booth space is crazy now in addition to travel just isnt worth it to sell items that youll probably have to mark up to even break even on the expenses. So imagine a company like sideshow saying its not worth it. They pretty much priced out small business and on the fan side everythings just gotten overpriced...

I started collecting statues in Dec 2023 I didn't find out about sideshow, XM, prime 1, etc. until I did research and through KZread. I don't think these studios are well promoted like they think they are. I buy art mainly at comic cons, but I do agree it's becoming less and less about comics, and more about trendy things to attract people.

Tip 4 u Chris. You should not have art touching the glass in frame. Use a mat or they make spacers to leave room between glass and art. Moisture can make the art stick to glass and ruin it, permanently. Be a damn shame to lose any u have purchased.

Voice actors make very little an episode. This is their bread and butter. And I was going to SDCC this year to help PCS. However, hotels and flights are insane. I can pay the same amount for 10 days at an all inclusive. It’s insane. I don’t blame Sideshow. You are right man. Statue companies should not attend. Not worth the ROI my opinion of course.

talk about crowds - I spent Saturday of NYCC 2023. only in artist alley. could not walk in the other areas. 125000 attendees in 4 days is crazy I attended the first NYCC when the police / fire depot had to close the doors Saturday morning because the crowds were greatly over capacity for the space allocated.
