Hi there ..using circle hooks and try to hook the fish by striking will never work. Circle hooks are used to allow the fish to hook it self

Handle bass with a wet rag or chamois leather and stop messing about with bare hands and spines.

special place,,, lots of memories with my Grandad there chasing mullet. plus the chats had with a lad called Jacob about whats was seen/ filmed that day.

It is such a frustrating game, isn''t it? I am often in Jewson Hayle with work, a couple of times a week at least, and regularly cruise around Carnsew and the harbour checking out the stocks. Bastards look like they are DYING to jump on your hook, don't they? Little shits! However, we stick at it, keep soaking the baits and KNOW that one day, we will triumph! Great video, brother, keep at it, tight lines.

As has been said many, MANY times, it's called fishing, not catching, but your perseverance paid off! Also, when we get to go just be out, in these stunning places, sometimes that's enough, just a fish puts the cherry on the cake, and an incredible meal on the plate!
That's completely right mate it's nice to catch but the whole process is therapy simple as 👍👍👌
Great session! Beauty bass in a stunning location, carp/course fishing just cannot compete! I totally get the being in your element and LOVING Cornish life! We moved down November 2022, from Rugby, near Coventry, after countless years visiting 2 weeks a year on holiday. Ain't nothing could make us leave now, this is paradise! Defo get the laziness, stuck in a rut comment. Bought my Kayak last year, August, and its not seen any water yet!!

Plenty of dogs, have you ever eaten them? I quite fancy trying it myself but i never fish with bait so dont catch them.
@@kayak_fishing_Cornwall they really nice mate tried one about a month ago. The skimming of it however was like a horror film the bloody things don't die lol I cut it's head off gutted it the lot and wriggled all the way to the plate lol 😂
Dogfish is BEAUTIFUL, thick, creamy and zero bones, other than the spine, of course. Used to get it in chippies back in the day, called rock, rock salmon or flake. The trick to skinning the beasts is dropping them in boiling water for 1 min before pealing the skin. Well worth the effort, though.

Really need to get my kayak out on the water, not been once this year and we're only three miles from Portreath. Beautiful day out on North Shore,as like you said, it ain't often that welcoming to a kayak fisherman! Enjoying the vids, keep them coming.

Watched a couple of your videos now, so, by the law of decency, I MUST subscribe! Had a wee sesh out on the finger in Hayle harbour a couple of weeks back. Mate caught a shore crab on his bait rod. 🤣 I set the Missus up and helped her all sesh so didn't actually fish myself. Least I have a sound excuse for blanking!!! Have to meet up some time, as we're Cornish imports too (November 2022 from Rugby, Warwickshire, NEVER going back!), and, tbf, you seem to have some stunning marks in your pocket. Tight lines, brother. 🐟

Stay safe on the rocks, good move to be wearing a life jacket and fishing with a mate in the dark. I was glad I had a mate with me when I fell earlier this year. Tight lines both of you.

Well done on your second bream. Once you get that monster bream, you will be hooked big time, I always fish fluorocarbon straight through, 25lb to 30lb, depending on baits used, I've only been bitten off once, and I believe this is because a lot of the bigger fish will feed hard on shellfish at times, seen the odd one 8lb+ with a chipped tooth, but everyone to there own mate, well done, it will happen.

Ha Ha cheers mate i have to say i agree Ive just got a shimano vansen and it is milea Better tbh Ive not had a wind know with it yet I in saying that though id never use the shimano on the kayak so i use the penn on kayak and shimano from shore 👍
Went out push netting the other day and we had 4 big spiders in about just about a foot of water, bloody things are sat in the tide and race up the beach as it comes in. Prawns, Spiders, even had some small flatties in the net doesnt need to be deep water for a decent catch

use some 60 lb braid and get a drop net or you will end up breaking your rod or reel or both
yeah I'm using 40lb mono now and the drop net idea is a great one mate I've got a drop net ill have to use it doh lol

Hi mate I bought the spike on Ali express it came unsharpened but I remedied that with a hook sharpening file 😂 Swiss pillar cut 4 I have also bout some wire from ebay stainless 314 but it's to floppy so I'm still working on that cheers for watching mate 🍻
