    I will be 54 soon in the last few years have been sheer freaking hell I don't know how I get up in the morning and hold a full-time job I don't know how any women could do it with a hot flashes night sweats body aches headaches nausea hormonal fluctuations bloating depression anxiety heart fluctuations and you want to know what I learned that the reason why is because when a woman's ovary shut down and stop producing eggs the adrenals take over and over flood the woman's bloodstream with adrenaline which makes us feel like we're living on the edge and which gives us panic attacks. This has been the most awful time of my life I can't imagine if I had a mother that had to go to work with these types of symptoms thank God when my mother was going through menopause my father worked a full-time job because I would hate to see my mother have to work going through menopause we as women should be able to retire at age 50. I have tried everything to ease the symptoms black holes work probably the best but it gave me menstrual cramp feelings I've tried hormone therapy and it made me feel sick right now I'm on milled flaxseed therapy with vitamin E I just don't know what to do anymore I'm beside myself and I have to go to work sweating like a pig feeling like I just got hit by a bus. I am so exhausted to the core of my being all I do is cry cry cry cry cry trying to pay bills trying to keep up with stuff it's a freaking nightmare I don't have a husband I don't have family I could trust I don't have friends I could trust so I'm all alone I feel like I'm losing my mind I need to take a leave of absence from work as soon as possible to deal with menopause because it's a nightmare nightmare nightmare if men went through it they be giving compensation early retirement days off work

    I'm so conflicted right now. My wedding events are planned for July 20, 21 & 22. And I'm off to my honeymoon from July 23-August 7. My fiancé and I tried to plan this as per my menstrual cycle but I got mine earlier this month, which changed the projection of my period for next month to July 26-30...which is when I'm supposed to be in Greece. :'( I don't know if I should risk using something like Norethindrone for the first time ever or just stick to my good old pads and painkillers, even if it does compromise our travels & sightseeing. I'm also a virgin so I don't know if this progesterone-only pill effects fertility in the future or what.

    I am having in about a week, a hysterectomy ( my uterus and fallopian tubes removed), due to an enlarged uterus, fibroids, and adenomyosis, I will keep my ovaries and my cervix. I hope I am making a good decision keeping my cervix. I always had a normal pap smear, I am 49 now. Also dealing with perimenopause symptoms!

Would have felt totally normal within a month had it not been for having my cervix removed. I know it was the right thing to do but if I had had a choice I would have preferred continuing to have Pap smears and leaving my cervix intact.

    I dont think you see the point in the concern… its not the absence of pain and discomfort, its a surgical alteration to the female anatomy that includes possible severing of nerves and permanent surgical changes to structure of the body that women are concerned about. Not the relief of symptoms. These are two COMPLETELY different things.

    i’m a transgender man (FtM) and in the process of getting a hysterectomy this year. periods and risk of pregnancy will be gone, alleviating that source of anxiety and dysphoria. thanks for the short yet informative video. great research for those looking into if this is right for them i’ll be keeping my ovaries as suggested by doctors and other transgender folks because they will continue to produce the estrogen my body will need. everyone needs estrogen and testosterone; the appropriate balance between hormones is different for everyone. nature should be taken into consideration, not ignored. without my ovaries, my body likely wouldn’t produce an appropriate amount of estrogen for itself. i’d probably need to take estrogen supplements alongside my testosterone injections for years. plus, i’ll get to keep my eggs if i do decide to do something with them!

    Hey I'm a bit curious about your experience, but if I ask anything intrusive or uncomfortable you don't have to answer. I'm also trans (FTN). I do not want to be pregnant ever, and my period is unpleasant and dysphoric for me. I don't want to take testosterone though (I've heard that it stops menstruation but I don't really want a beard or a voice drop). Can I actually get a hysterectomy for these reasons? My mom says that no one would do it on me and that it would cause problems. I just really don't want to bleed anymore but I don't know if I'd be allowed to get a hysterectomy. If it's cool, I'd like to hear about your experience with your doctor and how it's been for you. Thanks in advance by the way, even if you don't end up answering, the comment you left gives me a bit of hope for the future.

     @floofmoth hey, no worries! i actually really love answering these kinds of questions! :] the #1 option to stop periods permanently is to have a hysterectomy. there are other surgical options but they're usually only performed to treat disease or disorders. some birth control methods could work, but the effects of any given type vary from person to person. what stopped my periods was when i started estrogen blockers before going on testosterone. it was a once-a-month injection into the muscle of my butt. i was able to administer the shots at home because my mother's a nurse. the same medication, lupron, is also used to treat cancer and other diseases. it has other effects that you'll have to talk to your doctor about. i know that what i say may or may not be helpful, but i encourage you to keep researching and i really hope you find what's right for you!

  • @floofmoth
    @floofmoth4 ай бұрын

    @@roboninjas I super appreciate this, I currently take birth control but I'm supposed to stop taking it every three months to have a period. I honestly think a hysterectomy is the best option for me so I'll keep my hopes up for that. I just hear stories about doctors wanting to do them on people because "they're young and could still have kids" and I worry I'll encounter that. Though if you were able to get one as a trans person I guess that bodes well for me. Thank you so much for the reply, I feel a little bit more hopeful!

    @@floofmoth I feel compelled to share a little bit of my hysterectomy experience. I absolutely LOVE having no periods; my cramping and discomfort . . . GONE. The only time I cramp now is when I have to poo. Even my anxiety/depression has all but ceased to exist. I never gave having kids much thought, but I could choose to have them eventually if I met the right person. . .but that choice was taken from me by a cancer diagnosis (endometrial adenocarcinoma). It's a devastating feeling to be robbed of something like that. I know that not everyone will feel that way and your hysterectomy will be voluntary, but I am also experiencing some side effects that you mentioned you didn't want. I will be 6 months post op May 15th and I have noticed a significant voice drop, especially in my singing range. I also have noticed some under chin hair that I want to get lasered off eventually. I just wanted you to be aware that those things can happen and to really REALLY do the research on potential long lasting side effects. Incontinence is a potential side effect also; thank God I didn't have that. I wish you the best of luck and hope this info helps you in some way.

    @@Obsidiana_99 Thank you so so much for sharing, that information really helps. While personally I think being pregnant would be a horrible experience for me, i can't imagine how hard it must be to lose that if it was something you were considering. On a positive note, I turned 18 this year and was able to get a referral to an OBGYN where I can discuss what the best decision for me is and figure out what the process is. Having this info really helps me know things to ask about and I really appreciate you sharing your experience.

    I'm sorry that these experts are ignoring all other research rather than the WHI, which was the only one giving a negative outcome from using HRT. This study was done on purpose to discredit HRT, as the head of the team said once, that they needed to stop this madness of women taking HRT. Do your research and you will find this. They chose older and sicker women on purpose, it wasn't a mistake. If you take women up until the age of 79 in your research, you will get more cancer cases, due to age. WHI lied a lot, and this came up years later, when they were asked to provide more data, experts later found that WHI lied about the health conditions of the women taking HRT, they said they were healthy, but experts found out that they were not! WHI manipulated data to scare us. The lady with short hair says that for osteoporosis there are other medicine, yes of course, they cost more and they produce big money for big pharmaceuticals, but HRT is not patented and therefore super cheap, and estrogen is very effective in preventing osteoporosis. But they don't want us to take HRT because of this, it gives little money to big pharma. They want us sick, sick with heart disease, high blood pressure, osteporosis so they can fill us with other more expensive medications, that have BY FAR have more risks than HRT and more side effects. This video helps with a bit of information but keeps up with other misinformation. I expect more this old conservative line of advice, at this time and age. Women, get your HRT even if you don't have hot flashes but you have dry skin, dry eyes, itchines, tiredness, brain fog, loss of memory, irritability, anxiety, low mood, crying spells, low libido, etc. There is NOTHING WRONG WITH WANTING TO FEEL GOOD AGAIN, WITH ENERGY!, not as when we were 20, but at least 40. After 5 months of using HRT I am not going back ever!!!!!! There are women out there suffering big time, feeling desperate, marrages and relationships breaking up, jobs and careers given up, and they are still saying take HRT for hot flashes only. DISGRASEFUL
