At one time ,here in Australia, hundreds of VW's and Nissan Urvans were made into Campers here. The roofs were cut off and the fiberglass topper fitted but no rust protection was used. They all leaked and the water would rust everything below the roof. My younger brother had a thing for campers and owned a VW and and a couple of Nissans which looked great but were absolutely rotten. That Transit is pretty typical of those I looked at .

If that still got a ticket on it then i would say the tester is still in spain as he could afford 6 month holiday after collecting all this £20 notes covering all that rot and filler Good effort on trying to help the customer after getting shafted

Good to see car mechanics working to rectify some one else’s bodge, I looked at a fiat Motorhome at a dealer and the chassis failed twice for the MOT so I back out of the deal. I chose a Peugeot chassis model instead which was spotless, thing is there was 6 months between manufacture dates and they are made at the same factory as are fiat, Peugeot and Citroen.

If you have found this level of corrosion surely it's classed as condemned until fully repaired .if you just patch it to be used till laid up the insurance company will void the cover You have proved its bad by putting it on here .these bodgers are criminals that bodge could have collapsed at any time.

It pays to take someone with you I got scammed on what appeared to be a tidy mazda 2 sport with only 32k on it some years ago. It was a Scottish death trap and I bought that from a so called reputable dealer. Rac and trading standards approved you couldn't make it up. Just pay a small amount and have the aa come out or a trusted local garage or main dealer and always pay by credit card
