Dear Potholer, I already wrote something, but it disappeared in the cyber space. So, this time only a short list. First my disclaimer: I have published some 100 peer reviewed papers and reviewed about twice that number. In other words, I know how to read science. 1. When you cite publications, do you suggest that climate change Journals publish articles that provide solid data negating the “consensus”. How was Michael Mann’s hockey stick paper published in Nature despite its fatal statistical errors? Peer review… Climate “science” reminds me more of singing in a church choir than serious research (which is about skepticism by nature). There is no consensus in science. Your so called “debunkings” are mainly based on looking for the choir notes. 2. Droughts! We’ll our land usage (growing crops) is catastrophic. It erodes the soil to a point that disasters become inevitable. The major reason for this is the plant-based diet, which is the reason for such land usage. Let’s go back to natural forestation and eating ruminants pastured in their natural environment. That would cure the soil of the planet at once. 3. I think that we can agree to some extent that ~1800 was about the coldest time of this interglacial period. It also coincides with the use of thermometers for temperature records after that period. The records before that are from proxies. That a record relating to one point is simply a consequence that the proxy is available only there. There are no ice cores available for the equator. Now we are going to warm 7C by the year 2100. That equals to 0.09C per year globally. That is way outside of the measuring accuracy. It would be so also if we take a 10-year period. So, I warmly recommend learning the measurement instrumentation specs and taking a course in measurement uncertainty determination.

I don't completely understand the "stored by mother nature" at the end there. Can someone more knowledgeable explain? What I don't get is to me it seems like they're comparing apples to oranges. The "c02" stored by mother nature for hundreds of yrs is oil, which is liquid form, while c02 pumped back in is in gas form ..... am I understanding this right? How are those comparable? Are they saying that OXY is the same as climeworks in that the pumped c02 over time turns into carbon based minerals?

How about allocating 10-20 percent of the captured CO2 as 'fuel'/energy store/working medium ? Imagine extracting CO2 in Norway - cheap electricity, and shipping 20% of that via pipeline or CO2 carrier to Spain/Southern EU/MENA, to be used for power generation. Assumption is that the 'fuel' element within this proposal should attract funds based on its commercial feasibility.

What about the oxygen? We are taking stored carbon, combining it with twice as much oxygen and are proposing to store the product, CO2. Surely it would be better to do what the world’s flora does and store the carbon while releasing the oxygen back into the atmosphere. CCS in the long term will be destructive. Due to the current global climate disaster It must, however, regrettably be implemented as a short term measure while we are working out how to do what the plants do rapidly and economically enough using renewable energy sources to split the CO2 back into C and O to restore and maintain the CO2/O2 balance in the atmosphere. Or is that a dumb idea?

My sixteen year-old has calculated using google data that in order to remove one single year's worth of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere (based on average industrial-era global emissions hitherto) some several hundred thousand CC units of the capacity currently being built would be necessary. The rest is obvious. My common sense seems to be telling me (based on last year's climatic disasters as reported around the globe) that operating with "2050 deadline" is simply laughable. Not ha ha laughable. As far as commercial viability and green investment opportunities go I suggest followig: how about the greatest industrial polluters and past fossil fuel profiteers taking this initiative in order to save face and create a new and positive image for themselves? Also green cement seems a wonderful option: it is bound to be a best seller - who would not want their house or company HQ built using materials that actually save the planet?

Question. Is it realistic to believe we can reach a kind of SINGULARITY point where all our concrete comes from the chimneys at a better price than todays methods? Assuming for example 30% less material (with help from graphen etc), 80% less transportation (because of nearby burning factory) plus money for district heating which we now know is a good deal for almost any city. What would the CO2-price need to be to reach this "singularity" ?

Remove the Earth’s atmosphere or even just the GreenHouse Gases and it becomes much like the Moon, an arid, barren rock ball with no water vapor, clouds, snow, ice or oceans, no more 30% albedo, hot^3 (400 K) on the lit side, cold^3 (95 K) on the dark. That is NOT what Radiative GreenHouse Effect theory says. It is what Nikolov, Kramm and UCLA Diviner say. The K-T diagram (TFK_bams90) counts 63 W/m^2 upwelling Long Wave InfraRed twice: 160 - 17 - 80 = 63 once and 396 - 333 = 63 second. LoT1 allows only one, the real one from the sun. Erase the 396/333/63 from the graphic, the balance is unaffected and the GHG warming loop disappears. 342 arrives from the sun, net albedo 70% or 240 makes it into the atmosphere, net/net 160 arrives at the surface. Per LoT1 160 is ALL!! that can leave. The 396 is “extra” appearing out of nowhere. The 396 is a theoretical “What if?” calculation for a BB at 16 C serving as the denominator of the emissivity ratio: 63/396=0.16. IR instruments do not measure power flux, they measure temperature and infer W/m^2 by assuming emissivity and assuming 1.0 or .95 is assuming wrong. As demonstrated by experiment the surface cannot and does not radiate as a BB and as such there is no “extra” energy for the GHGs to warm or do whateveh. this might be silly, but the CO2 is coming from fossil fuels (hydrocarbons). Upon burning, we get CO2 and H2O. That's a lot of oxygen leaving as either water or going underground. Is that a problem?

Assuming for example 30% less material (with help from graphen etc), 80% less transportation (because of nearby burning factory) plus money for district heating which we now know is a good deal for almost any city. What would the CO2-price need to be to reach this "singularity" ?

Remove the Earth’s atmosphere or even just the GreenHouse Gases and it becomes much like the Moon, an arid, barren rock ball with no water vapor, clouds, snow, ice or oceans, no more 30% albedo, hot^3 (400 K) on the lit side, cold^3 (95 K) on the dark. That is NOT what Radiative GreenHouse Effect theory says. It is what Nikolov, Kramm and UCLA Diviner say. The K-T diagram (TFK_bams90) counts 63 W/m^2 upwelling Long Wave InfraRed twice: 160 - 17 - 80 = 63 once and 396 - 333 = 63 second. LoT1 allows only one, the real one from the sun. Erase the 396/333/63 from the graphic, the balance is unaffected and the GHG warming loop disappears. 342 arrives from the sun, net albedo 70% or 240 makes it into the atmosphere, net/net 160 arrives at the surface. Per LoT1 160 is ALL!! that can leave. The 396 is “extra” appearing out of nowhere. The 396 is a theoretical “What if?” calculation for a BB at 16 C serving as the denominator of the emissivity ratio: 63/396=0.16. IR instruments do not measure power flux, they measure temperature and infer W/m^2 by assuming emissivity and assuming 1.0 or .95 is assuming wrong. As demonstrated by experiment the surface cannot and does not radiate as a BB and as such there is no “extra” energy for the GHGs to warm or do whateveh. this is another stupid idea. artificial actions never work as nature and time goes on. bad idea. this also gives humans the excuse to keep wasting fossil fuels. human destruction at its best. i can go on and on about this. solar radiation and PV is a 100% free and 0 emissions idea. everyday sun light is wasted and taken for granted. its always out putting energy. but its all about financial efficiency to the stupid human race. stupid humans

this might be silly, but the CO2 is coming from fossil fuels (hydrocarbons). Upon burning, we get CO2 and H2O. That's a lot of oxygen leaving as either water or going underground. Is that a problem?
We need to remove around 0,1-0,2% of the CO2 in the atmosphere which contains up to 21% of oxygen, so not really.
1) By reflecting away 30% of ISR the albedo, which would not exist w/o the atmosphere/GHGs, makes the earth cooler than it would be without that atmosphere like that reflective panel set behind the windshield. Remove the atmosphere/GHGs and the earth would become much like the Moon and Mercury, a barren rock with a 0.1 albedo, 20% more kJ/h, hot^3 on the lit side, cold^3 on the dark.
