This is a beautifully shot video and I watch it frequently (admittedly part of that is to understand your approach to lamination). Does the choice of the interior wood alter the voice of the guitar at all? And, roughly how thick is the outer wood, the kerfing, and the interior laminate(s)? I would love to watch videos of you building and voicing both the backs and tops. Watching you all work is pure joy.

If the guitar's top bellies it will need a neck reset. Is this dovetail glued? How would you get it off, and how would you recut the joint to correct the neck angle?

  • @taranguitars

That's how our guitars sound. We look to pull as much overtone and response from our guitars as we can, this along with our compression braced back gives the fullness of sound that you're hearing. Thank you so much for highlighting this.

To whom do you attribute the ‘structured sides’ design? For me I think it’s Mike from Indian Hill (I think), a Canadian guitar co-op out of Quebec I believe? But maybe there’s previous iterations…

  • @taranguitars

We always feel that the Oreval is a performing and recording instrument that can throw a huge amount of sound and the Tirga Mhor, while perfectly happy on stage has an encompassing and intimate character. Both are very versatile guitars. Hope this helps. Very best, Rory
