Capuchin Franciscans

Capuchin Franciscans

What is a Franciscan Friar?
The Franciscans are referred to as “friars,” from the Latin frater, meaning “brother.” Franciscans are essentially an order of brothers striving to live the Gospel with the same simplicity and fervor as their founder, St. Francis of Assisi. After growing up in a wealthy family and then experiencing a powerful conversion at the age of 25, Francis donned the clothes of a penitent and began to live a very poor lifestyle, dedicating himself to prayer and service of the poor. Before long, inspired by his fervent lifestyle, men began to join Francis and to imitate his way of life. This gave rise to the birth of the Franciscan Order in 1223.

What is a Capuchin Franciscan?
In the 16th century, a group of Franciscans were inspired to live the Franciscan lifestyle in a more radical manner, returning to the original emphasis on prayer and poverty. These men broke away from the Franciscans and began a reform movement which stressed the priority of contemplative prayer

    1 Samuel 15:3 shows that God doesn't care about babies as he ordered their deaths!

  • @CapuchinFranciscans
    @CapuchinFranciscans18 сағат бұрын

    All men and women of all ages are dear to God, but the time and manner of their death is always willed either actively or passively by him. God does us no disservice by giving us a short life, since to have life at all is a gift from him. But abortion and similar sins try to steal what God has given to the others to serve oneself, thus unnaturally shortening what God willed for those persons.

    @@CapuchinFranciscans If those babies were dear to him then why did he tell the Israelites to kill them? He is God, he could have taken their life in their sleep by an angel instead of in a painful manner.

    How is God perfect when he allows evil and put Satan in the garden of Eden?

  • @CapuchinFranciscans
    @CapuchinFranciscansКүн бұрын

    Satan put himself in the garden of eden to tempt mankind. Man chose evil through free choice, inheriting for himself a world of sin.

    @@CapuchinFranciscans That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Do you think he sneaked in there without God's knowledge or overpowered God or tricked God? Stop trying to make out that God is this loving being that has our best intentions at heart.

  • @CapuchinFranciscans
    @CapuchinFranciscans18 сағат бұрын

    Certainly not, God wills all things either actively or passively. Yet it remains the case that if man had rejected the offer of Satan, as he was free to do, then he would not have sinned. God permits tests and trials to come our way, and he does us no disservice by doing so for we can always choose to reject sin.

    @@CapuchinFranciscans What about the victims of others' sin, they have not chosen to sin especially if they are babies? Why try to justify evil?

    ST. TERESA OF LISIEUX: “I cannot bring myself to hunt through books for beautiful prayers. There are so many of them that I get a headache. Besides, each prayer seems lovelier than the next. I cannot possibly say them all and do not know which to choose. I behave like a child who cannot read: I tell God what I want and He always understands. For me, prayer is an upward leap of the heart, an untroubled glance towards heaven, a cry of gratitude and love which I utter from the depths of sorrow as well as from the heights of joy...”

    Let me put it this way: either anyone has *absolute and undeniable* right to control their border, irrespective of even God Himself, or God is a sponsor of terrorism and is thus intrinsically evil; not only that: but if any part of Catholic Social Teaching has *ever* taught anybody or been used to teach anybody that they're not permitted to keep out thieves and terrorists (the illegal immigrants who seek to invade by crossing the border illegally- as all of them do) then God is *NOT* God at all but is in fact a *devil* *while* He remains God; and all worship, heedless of why, is idolatry of the absolute worst sort imaginable: either the Church has always defended and always will defend the right of any people to defend their borders, or Heaven really is Hell itself- no other "evidence" is even remotely valid!
