I'm sorry, but I had to mute audio on this video. PS: It's not planet Yavin.
Do shotaro ishinomori next
You sold me, I’m gonna pick up a copy. Thanks! About to start Merabarons and after just finishing Incal/before Incal I know I’m gonna wanna keep going ❤❤
I love his style It’s been a strong inspiration for my work as an artist
not a huge fan of Manga fan, but even I have heard of him and he def left a HUGE mark and influence on the genre!
Thanks, Art Shutter, for an amazing presentation on one of my favorite artists.
Great video my friend! Tezuka sensei rules!!!

moebius’s art and storyboards are probably the greatest part of this project…but he didn’t do many of the spaceship or ornithopter art
Probably the best piece of readable art done by an autistic genius
..they meant grandfather not godfather
So Awesome!
I hope you realize the irony of using an AI generated voice in a video about actual Artists and their work.
hey man, the title card in the video says "Akira Toriyama: The God of Manga and His Enduring Legacy" not Osamu Tezuka. just a heads up
I love this painting. I consider it one of the best works of art of all genres, up there with the classical masters. At the same time, I always feel like the horse's tail is not quite right. It's probably just a me thing.
Boris was a part of my entrance into the creative arts field, along with other fantasy artists working in the 80s. However after establishing my own career as an illustrator and teaching at universities across the world, I don’t think his work has aged well, it looks like accomplished A level work, skills centric, limited in ideas and desperately overwrought. Democratic publishing via the internet has enabled us to engage with superior creatives and you wonder if like the fine art world, some of these illustrators simply benefitted from a closed shop agent-driven model for creatives. That’s my thought anyway.
His book "Mirage", which I consider to be his Magnum Opus, came out when I was a teenager just getting seriously into art. Thanks to the inspiration of Boris I was able to have a good career as an illustrator.
Your english has improved a lot and very fast! You rock!
Practicng that English, Keep the spanish accent yo. Far better experience.
Did your voice change?
There are still people who criticize Astro Boy's machine guns placement, but well... Nobody is perfect 😅
Yo siempre vengo para aprender de increibles artistas y dibujantes y práctico mi escucha del inglés
I love Black Jack. Need to watch a few more so I can complete the entire series.
Osamu Tezuka's style is mesmerizing. But, I wish his animation productions weren't mediocre. Metropolis should not have been made instead *Prince Norman* really should have been adapted.
Jodorowski very good author❤
Boris's figures always look too Hollywood, from our world instead of an alien one, and faces, with bodies, that look too soft.
Amazing comics ❤
Alejandro Jodorowski is genius, I read this comics! Technopriests good story ❤
Fun fact.Giger suffered from night terrors and lucid dreaming and lots of his work comes straight from Gigers own dream scape.
I had the entire set Tarzan books with Boris art covers as a kid, John Carter too, I went through an Edgar Rice Burroughs phase in grade 8, read everything I could find by him.
He became a hero of mine during my early teen years. I treasured all my fantasy art books including Mirage, my favourite, in which he made me fall in love with Danielle Anjou. His multicoloured skin tone palette was masterful.
Great video! Am I crazy or does The 5 Element also show a lot of Moebius style elements that are in the Harry Canyon episode of the animated film Heavy Metal? The red hair girl dressed in white needs help from a cab driver and the traffic is aerial in an urban setting. The police uniforms look like the prototype for 5th Element cops. Anyway, loved it!
He was involved in an early stage of the production designing some elements of the film
Mostly this is an ASSHOLE.
I read this comics, it's amazing experience❤ Jodorowski genius)
She IS an excellent artist, and I'm sure it's done purposely, but I always feel like her subjects are posing in a body building competition.
5:24 I thought White Goodman was in that painting?
I used to collect his art on some of the fantasy books. I had several. As well as a book of his art. My favorite fantasy artist. The Gor series was awesome.
Siempre leía al Corto Maltés un personaje enigmático, grandes cómics.

🙈🙉🙊🐵🐒🦍🦧
What an artist. I have known all his work. He has gotten around, alright.
I gots a couple of complete sets of some trading cards of his
Because Boris used people posing for reference his figures were always stiff although I've seen a couple which weren't (and were better for it) his work lost points for dynamism. But his use of colour was so detailed you could overlooked the stilted poses. A master technician with a unique style Boris reigned supreme in fantasy art. With a more dynamic style only Frank Frazetta could match him.
Thank you for recognizing this great artist and shearing him with fellow artists
Always a pleasure
Samantha pws loom for you princess be good to yourself and lost part of the message you wait for is in the mind of the the child you punished loom to the reflection go backwards to get forward slowly 🎠🚜🚜☃️
love Boris. A great inspiration in my youth. not sure what happened to his later art (when he began to collaborate with Julie) but IMHO his older stuff was much better
Really enjoying all the tributes to a host of great artists on this site, thank you. Are there any plans for looking at the works of the late, great Christos Achilleos?
Thanks for the comment and recommendation, I take into account all the artists suggested by the subscribers
King of the "Tits and Lizards" school of art.
