Yes found mine rubbing through @ 20k 👍
This fault is known by most owners, I used 32mm irrigation pipe, slit a piece down the middle, put the loom through it and duct taped it on. All good.
Yep, been a well know fault. I used a heater hose cut down middle and zipped tied to harness. Been on there for 5yrs now, no issues. Thanks for letting people know...👍
👍
Well done a fantastic find nothing stopping you blokes

My 4jh1 rodeo is cranking but won't start well on cold mornings but once started it cranks over straight away. Bit of white smoke when trying to start. Saw your glow plug video this may be the problem?
The best outcome from diagnostics usually comes from the most time with the vehicle to do proper testing the simplest that comes to mind could be air getting into the fuel system....
@@BerrimaDiesel oh yea I did change the fuel filter at engine a few months ago
You blokes talk the torque!
We Try to 😁
ive heard dpfs are a bit of a waste of time , something to do with the regen pumping all that soot out
They're actually designed to collect the soot and then burn it cleanly when temperatures are right so when you're working correctly and looked after there are good thing
Do you increase rail pressure with your tuning? Just for the record I'm not against increasing rail pressure, it just has to be done responsibly.
Exactly its all part of the tuning being done. Its just one part of the equation to making a vehicle run! 🥳 it is usually used by the remapping world to scare people
@@BerrimaDiesel iv always thought this. How much would you say is a safe amount to increase rail pressure?
varies from vehicle to vehicle 5, 8% or...
Weve popped our eyes open when weve opened some bad remaps....... 25% or higher..... boom! As weve shown on previous videos even blanking plates and resistors added hard wired to wiring from 'name branded 'gun' tuners.... 🚀 4 3 2 1 🔥
hard to beat jap quality , everything took a serious downturn in quality and reliability once manufacturing moved to china, its improving but no longer have the patience.
👍
that is large particles , hate to see a borescope on that.
Engines are much tougher than we think and eat a lot more than we see remembering that the combustion process includes flames, soot, crbons, acids just to name some of the toxics!
Why is it pulling air up from the hot engine and not pulling cool air in from the hood?
Nope..... air being pushed down from cool ouside and fans
When I bought my 75 I figured it'd need a new timing belt and turned out mine was exactly as loose as this and had rubbed against the backing plate leaving black dust everywhere . She runs good now but I reckon she dodged a bullet.
👍
Time to look up the meaning of condensation. That is not condensation. It is just steam or water vapour. When that water vapour meets a cooler surface it will turn from a gas into a liquid, that’s condensation.
🥳
Ryco seem to have been rubbish forever. My father stopped using them back in the 1980's after he had one where the drain back valve wasn't working (or might even have been missing) and the Valiant (not sure if it was his 265 or 318) would clatter on start up every start until it managed to fill the filter back up. We both used Sakura on all our vehicles for more than twenty years and never had a problem.
An Australian company with nothing made in Australia. 😉
@@BerrimaDiesel Yes, sad to say, like so many good companies when they get acquired. They buy the brand with its loyalty and then do everything to bleed it dry.
sad reality
Sorry, not everyone is not listening, I certainly do. Have just bought MY16 200 series and the owner said he had fitted a catch can. Reckoned it didn't work too well, so removed it. I'll be getting one fitted soon.

Those kilowatt numbers seem too low. 2:24 My Ranger is rated at 147Kw. Being an auto I take it out of overdrive mode and use the manual mode so it revs a little more and therefore creates more torque for towing.
Advertised STANDARD Power of 147kW yet the vehicle only achieves 105kW at the wheels on a dyno. ALL ‘Claimed’ manufacturers engine power specifications are measured at the engines crankshaft. Note the Key Word ‘Claimed’. These ‘Claimed’ manufacturers’ specifications are never checked or questioned by any Government authority or Independent group. The engine power specifications shown on a Dyno are real but with losses shown at the Tyre Be sure you don’t confuse the figures by manufacturers with what you achieve on a dyno. There are many variables in the way a dyno calculates power and there are further variables such as tyre size and transmission type. Larger diameter tyres not only drastically effect fuel economy but also absorb power. Automatic transmissions make dyno results hard to read as there is no ‘solid’ connection to the wheels like found in a manual transmission. It is up to your skilled Dyno Tuning Professional to test the vehicle thoroughly and accurately. Don’t settle for 1 or 2 dyno runs as this will not be a fair and accurate result. Most reputable dyno shops will perform multiple dyno runs so as to achieve a reliable repeatable average of runs. This will allow them to sort through and pick out the runs that can be best used to describe the vehicles dyno results. Remember that to the untrained person a dyno graph can be like reading and trying to understand your health check blood results. Make sure you ask questions and that your dyno operator ‘translates’ your dyno results into information you can understand.
How far back ⏳ are those ⚡️ comp. monitors applicable to the Landcruiser range ⁉️
Common rail Diesels onwards
What cause this always?
How much for a set of injectors?
👍
Can't even install an air filter properly how on earth does he afford such a car
I was looking at the pre cleaner on my new 78 LANDCRUISER it has no mesh below the vanes and the slots for the debris are much smaller than the gap between the vanes so are bugs caught inside ? do they require cleaning?
The genuine Toyota ones dont
What about on a 3.2L 5 cylinder Ranger?
Whilst possible in a common rail situation you will instantly get loud knocking and a much more catastrophic outcome... where you can get away with this problem with the old school ones like this video
On the seventy series land cruiser do they have a collection bowl that needs service
I just love the fact that you've been able to find a post that I did in 2013!!! That was a great trip the Simpson desert! But yes you're right the genuine Land Cruiser one doesn't need cleaning and it's sort of self cleaning but it probably doesn't work as effective as one of the Donaldson ones like in this video
@@BerrimaDiesel I have the new 2.8 troopy I thought it was odd the gaps on the inlet vanes are bigger than the gap on the dust outlet slots. it seems to do a good job on dust I guess bugs just pass through I have seen a couple below the valve in the bottom of the air cleaner box
You would be amazed under high velocity and pressure how many large bugs would be pushed out of that auto eject gap more than we think 😁
So is a ram intake bad?
Firstly they're not really ramming air in you diesel and consumes a lot more air than a snorkel can Ram (claimed) I always say if you're snorkel if you're doing a river crossing deep enough
Holy Sht Andrew, that has to be another one of Farmer Brown's butcher's jobs. They're at it again. Disgusting. Cheap and nasty. Black smoke is over-fueling killing that engine and killing the future of diesel at the same time. When will people ever learn? When diesel no longer exists?
Yes there's some pretty horrid jobs!!
Do the valves ever get stuck open on these or the 100? I've got one on ky Subaru that's about 5 years old, gets drained regularly and new elements every 20k. The valve is currently wet with oil on the outside.
There's a variety of conditions created by different time usage etc
OMG!!! 😟 Very good sample for the 5 dollar price difference ! No sorry for the lats who try to save peanuts and loose the watermelon….. Cheers
🤦♂️
another full rebuild im guessing, they dont look too bad stripped down , wasnt the issue overboost on these things and like many turbo deisels the egr and pvc oil creating tonnes of abrasive crud . seen head intakes 3/4 blocked with it, first time i ever saw it i was amazed . years ago a freind took his low km d40 to nissan due to timing chain noise , they told him it was normal, weeks later the engine was toast , timing chain snapped just after his warranty expired.
sadly
I really enjoy your pure no-nonsense info! Well done 💪💪💪
thankyou
200,000 on my 2013 Dmax with oil and filter done every 10,000 and no problems so far. Hopefully good for another 200,000.
✅
great, thanks.
✅
Love the long videos way better
Yeah sometimes like a lot of things you just get bloody busy but it's like when we get time will make them good info!
The crankcase ventilation system sucks the blowby back into the inlet side . Better off disconnecting / clamping it off to see what the real blowby situation is .
thanks , good vid. good to hear info on the 200.
You're welcome
I fixed my 1980 XE falcon 308 and I dream at night sometimes that I still own it. It was the last xe that had a v8 and I was just poor enough that I traded it in.😢
Yikes, what a crap quality air filter.
on the mines which is extremely dusty we would smear grease on the seals , made a huge difference, probably shouldve used synthetic grease but they never had that.
✅
Still love your work should be more diesel mechanic like you but from what I know there isn’t
This industry has a lot of opportunities but it's in a very sad way... unfortunately with poor leaders at a state and federal level there is no hope
I looked at a 1HZ Tracker bus for a mate, it popped a balloon in seconds with blow by and not enuph oil to show on the dipstick! but the air filter was clean 😶🌫I suggested that the seller service it at the least🙄.
Yikes!!
400k... after 150k rebuild...
ha ha ha ha some of my mates in the industry would agree with you on that but no luck there this is an original ✅
warranty claim ? ,you can bet isuzu is aware
Someone has been playing around with this one
Everyone back in the day bagged the ZD30 for itself destruction but nobody these days ever mentions that the D4D 3.0lt does exactly the same thing.
Exactly
Bit of qbond will fix it😅
👍
What was the point in hat vid?
it was under 45 minutes 😁
That brings back some old memories with the zd30
Sad ones
Brings back some expensive memories
Gday i just have had a mann and hummel pro vent 100 installed on my 2020 mr diesel and when i got home i saw the top hose to cyl head and bottom hose to turbo.I got on mann and hummel instruction it says its correct but every one on utube have top hose to head.Who is wright?
Best Answer It has Arrows on it Cheers
I been wanting to turbo my non turbo 2l....i have a bigger radiator, clutch fan and shround perfectly working. Added an electric fan for the ac as the van didnt come with a fan for ac. Can i add a ct20 on my non turbo 2l and turn the fuel screw up with a front mount intercooler? Or would i need the boost compensator? My non turbo 2l black smokes like a bitch
If she's already smoking then I just put the turbo on that should be enough already
When I disconnect the return line and turn the key on, i have diesel coming from the return line plastic connectors. Is that normal ?
on what engine?
