    Awesome review! Thanks for the good info. I have a 2627 which is the 3 pickup, cat eye version of the 2622 and i love it. The middle pickup blended with any other channel makes pure jazz tones. Also, the weight relief in the Gretsch center block allows air to pass across the chambers which does make a difference in tone compared to standard center blocks in other brands. And another thing about having multiple volume controls on the guitar itself is the ability for greater gain flexibility at your fingertips. Think of the pup volumes instead as "drive" controls under the master. This out of the box set up allows me to really crank up my amp for tube crunch and leave the pups low to protect my ears. Or lower the master and turn up the pups just like a pre-gain. GRETSCH RULES!

    When I was a kid professional guitar players used to do these videos. Boy how times have changed. I can smell the stench of bourbon, broken dreams and "my wife left me" in the air.

    Very nice review. Have that exact same guitar. 1974 Fender Strat all original, but it's a lefty. The pickups are amazing in it. All original. I believe it was last year they put staggered pole pieces in the pickups. Lefties didn't come with the word "Stratocaster" on the headstock, though...just Fender.

    Best demonstration yet of this amp, I am getting the head instead of the combo to use the built in speaker to practice with.

    Great to hear from someone, who's actually got some experience with the amp unlike other "reviews", where they're tested right after the unboxing. I got the 100 myself with the Roland foot control and I'm still amazed! v2 update for the software brings it to almost 60 effects with 8 channels instead of four - Boss ist really stepping up their game and I love it! Small correction though, it is not a modulated amp, but an analog instead with digital effects in the chain, much better than the modulated competition right now.

    The best demo would be to use a single coil and humbucker guitar because of vintage Strat doesn't show the range of this amp

    Really good review, other reviewers should take note. I have the 50W, it's a great product, I don't play out, I have a friend who does but he has to have his boutique head and cab and pedal board. Go simple, the drinkers in bar won't care about the difference!

    Thanks for this awesome review. With the v2.0 software update you can store 8 presets. 2 banks of 4. Really cool. I use the Roland foot controller with it. The quality of the effects are great. I can dial in the tube screamer effect to sound exactly like my Ibanez. I now gig with this amp, foot controller and a compressor. Before I was using a hotrod deluxe and a huge pedalboard. It’s just an amazing and convenient am.

    Way too many controls. Like a throwback to those terrible CBS days when Fender decided to ditch tube amps in favor of solid state amps that sounded like ass and had too many buttons and switches. I don't think the Elite series will last long.

  • @CosmicHippopotamus
    @CosmicHippopotamus6 жыл бұрын

    It just replaced the deluxe series which had most of the same features (so it's been around for a while). I have the deluxe, once you set the preamp you pretty much stop messing with it entirely outside the blend knob and master. I even took off the back two knob caps. To compare these basses to the CBS era is totally of because it ignores the main reason the CBS basses were bad: their quality. This is the best production model Jazz Bass Fender offers.
