  I forgot the Laura Dean book was written by her, since I think it holds a little value in teaching a younger lgbt audience the importance of breaking off from an abusive relationship even if it seemed like the relationship of their dreams. Aside from that her books like Starfire are straight COMEDY.

  Not this woman again!!!! T-T Edit: If you're gonna do teacher x student romance. At least A) Make them close in age B) Make the student 18 or over (Mind you, this is if you're romanticizing it. If it's done for shock and not to be romanticized that's a different story).

  6:40-7:10 Diary of a Wimpy Kid actually took what you said and made it work, because it was mostly played for laughs and it’s pretty obvious that the protagonist, Greg, is *supposed* to be unpleasant, and he gets comeuppance pretty frequently.

  It's also messed up because white people aren't allowed to criticize media like this. Only black content creators can. Otherwise, it's "you're just a racist who hates seeing the truth" I really hate that myself and others are being treated with such hostility for something we never did, and something a lot of these people never experienced. My ancestors are Irish and Scottish, that doesn't give me a right to treat any British person as awful as their ancestors treated mine hundreds of years ago. Guess what? Both the offender and the offended in that situation are dead and gone. There's no reason for me to hate British people. It won't fix anything.

  Mariko Tamaki recently won the Eisener Award for best writer of her book Roaming. If she’s the worst writer in comics, which she is, then that says a lot about comics award shows and those who judges the books. No wonder American comic books are failing

  I remember I read this earlier in the school year. Personally, it was boring as hell and the teacher student stuff was kind of unexpected (and very much ew). My school needs to get rid of it so bad.

  I think the way they try to paint Starfire as an absent mother is so sad. Not just because it’s such an insult towards her character and personality but also because she isn’t even a bad mom in the comic. In the comic she is shown to care about her daughters well being, making sure she eats, is involved in her school life, wanting her to be serious about her future and trying to talk to her in hopes that Mandy opens up to her about problems. That doesn’t sound like a bad mother at all. I mean despite being an active superhero, who’s probably very busy, starfire was there for every single birthday that Mandy had. She even broke of a mission, leaving the other titans to handle it, in order to fly back to earth when Mandy had troubles with school. She actually sounds like a great mom, which makes it even worse that they’re trying to paint her as a bad one.

  I don't care if the morality of the events is morally questionable, fiction is not the place for that and I bet none of you were too fond of Chick Tracts, but when the story is squarely about nothing like this and there's no conflict to solve and the protagonist acts like a sociopath and the narrative is too vague to be followed and so on then maybe you shouldn't get published in the first place.
