I think I still have those records from the 70s, the National Jazz Orchestra. Tom Ferguson, who directed the band at Arizona State when I was there, had us play some wonderful pieces written by you, Mr. Israels, such as the suite based on Stella by Starlight (Extracts I, I believe) how wonderful! Thank you both!!

I think Bob's representation of the time is better than Chuck's lol. Chuck is supposed to be the rhythm section. :P

Anyone ever tell you you look like Dave Matthews? This video brought back memories. Haven't played in 30 years and forgot how to tune. Thanks man.

Ayyyeeee that song is Simon Says by Pharoahe Monch. I’m looking forward to being section leader next year of a 24~ish strong tuba section and I’m working with my directors to get that bass line as a tuba hype song. We have decided to name it Zilla to pay homage to the fact that it is sampled from the Godzilla theme song. Glad to see it’s approved by the pros 😜

Does your method for the production of the subtone apply to the double lip embouchure or is it exclusive to the teeth on top mode?
