I think I still have those records from the 70s, the National Jazz Orchestra. Tom Ferguson, who directed the band at Arizona State when I was there, had us play some wonderful pieces written by you, Mr. Israels, such as the suite based on Stella by Starlight (Extracts I, I believe) how wonderful! Thank you both!!

Ayyyeeee that song is Simon Says by Pharoahe Monch. I’m looking forward to being section leader next year of a 24~ish strong tuba section and I’m working with my directors to get that bass line as a tuba hype song. We have decided to name it Zilla to pay homage to the fact that it is sampled from the Godzilla theme song. Glad to see it’s approved by the pros 😜

The ETS852 is really great! It is a fusion of the Rue St. George action with the 52nd Street depth of sound.

My repair man complains the Eastman metal is a little bit soft. It bends a little too easy. They should work on that.

I love hearing the counterpoint just between the two instruments alone. These guys are so good you don’t even miss the rest of the rhythm section. Amazing performance!
