Little Toys for Big Kids

Little Toys for Big Kids

I love toys, games, advertising items, kids books & comics and other neat stuff that reminds me of being a kid! Stuff that was in my parents and grandparents house when I was little, too! Those all make me smile and make the years stand still. Adult life is tough. Why not blow up the water-wings and jump into the pool of nostalgia now and again? If I can make you smile when you say "hey - I remember those!", then it's been a good day!

Although I don't personally have any of these available for sale at this time I have had some of them in the past (long since sold now). It's good to know what was out there so you have an idea of what to be searching for, Ive found. Even with toy lines that I collect exclusively there's always something out there that I didn't know even existed, but once I know it's out there, I know to be looking for it. Glad you enjoyed this.

Lol, don't we all!! I had cut out the characters that were printed on the back of the ThunderCats shreddies, I had a Lion-o and I had a Cheetara. There might have been a third I don't know , I only had the two, but I was happy to have them, they were in my collection, and they got thrown out when we moved house and that is always a disappointment to me even after all these years, because although I have seen the unused tattoo sometimes come up available for sale, I've never seen the cereal boxes

Never knew they made toys of this skit! I've always loved the song. Always felt bad for the king...but never enough to stop laughing! Also, thank you for uploading episodes of Today's Special. I'd never even heard of that show before until your upload of the Babies episode was in my recommended. It was so cute, and now I'm watching the rest of the series! :)

Yeah I felt bad for the poor king, too. His kids were just trying to do something nice for him but it never quite worked out well, did it? And the music was just perfect. I sing along to this all the time. I'm thinking of making the other six sons, and each one holding the gift that they gave their father. Well only one gift, not seven of them. Imagine sculpting "7 statues of girls with clocks with her stomach should be"?

Oh that's so sweet thank you, I have approximately 20 episodes of today's special... (there are 120 in the entire series). I believe that officially only season 1 and 2 have been released and they can be purchased on dvd, however the ones I have are just mixed and match here and there, whatever was taped off tv. I never ever considered putting them on KZread cuz... I don't know I thought it was a copyright thing...but then I found that other people had, and the worst thing that can happen is that TVO can just ask you to take it down so that's fine. I don't make any money off of this, and all it's doing is spreading some joy. And I'm happy to do so. It was a really great series, over so long ago, and it's so nice that people can see them again. It takes me about 5 hours to get a 30-minute episode prepared to upload. Yeah I know. Crazy.... But people seem to get so much enjoyment out of them that I will be continuing :) thank you for taking the time to write

Read this remake of the song and tell me what you think of it. The Queen Rosie of France and her Seven Daughters One two three four five six seven! Said the Queen Rosie of France to her seven daughters, "I'm feeling mighty down. Whichever of you can cheer me up will get to wear my crown." The first daughter gave seven scallop shells from the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea. The second gave her seven statues of men With clocks where the stomach should be. The third daughter gave her seven sapphires From the shiekdom of down there beneath. The queen thought the sapphires were blueberries and she broke off seven of her teeth. The fourth daughter came to cheer her up with seven cherry drops. The queen said, "I'm sorry, daughter, but since that sapphire episode I just haven't got the chops." The fifth daughter brought the queen perfume In seven jars of honeydew. The queen took a whiff and she broke out in spots 'Cause it smelled like Pepe Le Pew. The sixth daughter gave her seven diamond rings To wear upon her toes. The queen snagged her foot on the royal red rug And crumpled up her nose. The seventh daughter of the Queen Rosie of France Was a thoughtful little whelp. She said, "Mommy, appears to me that you could use a little help." Said the Queen Rosie of France to her seventh daughter, "My daughter, you win the crown. You didn't give me emeralds or sapphires, but you helped me up when I was down. Take the crown, it's yours my daughter. I hope you don't mind the pranks. I got it on sale at a discount store- Cost me all of seven francs!" SEVEN! (Rosie and all of her daughters are humans, by the way.)

I sang it out loud to the original tune, and smiled while doing so. Very creative, thanks for sharing! My only critique would be that "Mediterranean Sea" has too many syllables... you need something that only has three syllables in it (like the original) and not seven, oh! SEVEN! Lol!

Taking Canadian inflation into account, the $0.69 pies in 1990 would be equivalent to $1.39 in 2023 (and they are a smaller size today, too). The $1.49 peanut butter in 1990 would cost $3.00 in 2023. And the $3.99 toilet paper in 1990 would be the same cost as $8.04 in 2023. *Calculations taken from "bank of Canada inflation calculator"

Taking inflation into account, the free liter of milk (which would have been about $1.25 value in 1990) would have the same cost as $2.62 in 2023 money (a large increase in the cost of milk for Canadians...and yet, Canada's dairy production is controlled under a system known as supply management...in which if there is more supply than demand, farmers are required by law to dump the raw milk down the drain rather than sell it. And yet, Canadians are going hungry because of high grocery prices. What a system!). The canned vegetables that were $0.89 in 1989 would be the equivalent of $1.87 in 2023. And the yogurt cups which were $0.56 each in 1989 would be $1.17 each in 2023 *Calculations taken from "bank of Canada inflation calculator"

And the Ritz crackers which was $0.99 each in 1990 would be $1.99 in 2023 - although keep in mind todays package is smaller, too...

Taking inflation into account, the $0.25 Maruchan ramen noodles in 1990 would have the same cost as $0.50 in 2023 money (so that shows no real increase in cost over 30 years!). The drink boxes that were $0.89 would be the equivalent of $1.79 (keep in mind the size of the package is 1/3 smaller though). And the Kraft dinner which was $0.35 each in 1990 would be $0.70 in 2023 (which is a big jump from the same price of $1.66 each) *Calculations taken from "bank of Canada inflation calculator"

Of course, and you are correct., That's like saying in 1932 you could buy a brand new car for $600. Gotta take inflation into account. I didn't think too many people who would watch this 2-min video would care for an in-depth analysis of price comparisons (probably more interested in the original 30 second commercial) however, for the sake of accuracy, the $0.69 pies in 1990 would be equivalent to $1.39 in 2023. The $1.49 peanut butter in 1990 would cost $3.00. And the $3.99 toilet paper in 1990 would have the same buying power as $8.04 in 2023. *Calculations taken from "bank of Canada inflation calculator"

Well, let the tourists drink the Fosters (if they think it's Australian) and keep the good beer for yourself! But I know how you feel -there was an extremely successful advertising campaign in the 1990s called " I am Canadian"... In which a young man stands up to a microphone and gives a short impassioned speech about what a Canadian is all about, with the assumption that we all drink Molson Canadian beer. (The name was the only good thing about the beer.) Greetings from Niagara Falls!!

The Karate Kid 1 was a success due to the cool dynamic between Morita and Macchio. It sucks as a martial arts film because both Morita and Macchio weren't anything even remotely resembling a martial artist. The Karate Kid 2 and 3 suck totally because even that cool dynamic of Morita and Macchio was lost. Overall, I'd say the first one is an example of what William Friedkin calls "the grace of movie gods". Some movies end up greater than the sum of their parts. It actually feels like magic was captured on screen, even though they theoretically shouldn't work. But yeah, no movie gods graced The Karate Kid 2 and 3.

I would love to know how you do the hair, as in, once you’ve found the hair you want to use, how do you “install” it (for want of a better word)? Could you do a video that shows this? Also, if you ever have to open stitching on a bear, how do you sew it back up so that it doesn’t look like it’s been modified?

  • @traveling_ladyrailfan
    @traveling_ladyrailfan2 жыл бұрын

Hello, Unfortunately, I made the bears 10 years ago, and made the video 10 days ago, so I wasn't able to show a step by step "how to" in the making. I used a sharp exacto knife and only opened about 3-4 stitches at the top of the head, then with locking forceps, pulled out the original hair curl remnant. Use whatever hair you'd like (in this case, parts of a wig), and I used hot glue to make sure the ends of the hair were all stuck together (on the one end, the end that's going inside the head). Carefully ease the new hair into the small original hole and with matching thread, a curved needle and tiny stitches (3-4 of them) sew up the area once again. Hope this helps!
