And don't linger on the left side of the hole because of errant driving range balls. On the approach going long or left can be very penal because of the elevated green and it's slope.

If the pin is up, it's a particularly unreceptive place to land the ball, so it makes the reward for driving it over the water much greater.

Good to add that going left can be quite penal given the slope of the green away from you when you chip on and a grass bunker on the left.

Don't forget, a lake up the right, that you don't see, is in play for many. Also it's the hardest hole on the front nine according to handicap. Unlikely a tailwind blowing south, and the green's not unreceptive it's just oftentimes you'll have a longer shot in, but at least it's a deep green.

What Evergreen Skateparks built and what is in this rendition are two completely different things. They build what THEY want and ignore what the community wants. They are out of touch with modern skatepark design. They failed the skater's of Boulder with the skateparks they built. It's too bad the city went with the cheapest bid... you get what you pay for.

In a recent Daily Camera piece, Parks and Recreation attempts to document their efforts at community input. Let's take a look: "The City of Boulder invites community participation to help the Parks and Recreation Department prioritize how it will invest its resources and focus its operations in the future. Please indicate where your preferences lie on a scale between each two options. Specialized/Dedicated Spaces (1) or Multipurpose/Flexible Spaces (6) , Individual Benefit (1) or Community Benefit, Fee-based (1) or Free, Indoor Exclusive Programming (1) or Indoor/Outdoor Programming, Multigenerational Use (1) or Specific Age Groups." Unless I am missing something, this survey is absolutely ridiculous. PnR wants to survey whether or not citizens want age bias in recreation planning or only want indoor recreation geared toward one individual rather than the community who may want outdoor recreation also? Let me point out the obvious to PnR staff. This kind of survey is completely ineffective at evaluating what citizens want. However, considering that PnR refused to survey users on what kind of picnic tables users want at the reservoir, maybe upper adminstrators don't actually want their expensive grand visions put at risk from citizen input.

While public, some private citizens (Alex from Joy of Bike) recently donated a cool asphalt “pump track”. I might mention Valmont City Park also had a cool skate park, dog park, playing fields, and really cool disc golf park.
