    I have the Andi's clipper with cord. If I want long length I would choose a 22 or 25"? correct? have a standard 10" that came with it.

    YES.....I have a story to add. I was inspired after watching all of your videos that getting that top-of-the-line Dremel would be a good investment. It would save time and money and I could get really good at it!! The first time was the last. It has already been packed up for the return trip to AMAZON. BabyDoll is very good under all other circumstances. His first bath worked out fine. But as soon as the Dremel touched his nail he flinched badly. There was no way that I could continue after that reaction. After he gets up-to-date on his shots he will be going to a professional groomer. They told me that they will clip his nails and then polish them. That's what I needed to here. I am happy to pay to have everything done right. Thanks for your expert advice.

    After watching this video for the first time I tried the grinder on my lab's nails. She's an excellent client! Your video was so informative. I only did 2 paws and will continue to do more this week. I bought the Casfuy grinder because of it's low noice level, I'm glad I did. It's a 6 speed so I'm still figuring out which speed to use on her. I paid $45 for a grinding trim and thought that I need to learn how to do this. Thank you so much for creating these videos.

    My 9 month old female Rhodesian Ridgeback was very skittish of having her nails trimmed. A groomer we went to (our first) suggested using a muzzle even though there were 3 of us trying to keep her still (she’s 85 lbs). The muzzle seemed to calm her right down as well as protecting us from nips and protecting the dog from trying to sniff too close to the Dremel. Your video has taught me how to trim on my own and we’ve made tons of progress but I still use a muzzle even though my dog is now accustomed to the trimming process. It has an immediate calming effect on her. Hopefully this tip might help someone else who is struggling to keep their dog calm while trimming.

Now I understand the quick much better, how to work around it, and a good explanation on holding those outer toes. Thank you. Wish I had found your videos earlier.

    I recently splurged on a Diamagroove Pinnacle. Unfortunately, I am not able to find a grinder that works with it. The grinders that you recommend are no longer available. I tried the Hyper Tough but apparently it’s a new model and I could not make it work with the Diamagroove. Do you have recommendations for other grinders that fit a Diamagroove? Thanks.

    I really needed this video! This has been an ongoing issue with us, and I thought I was being nutty thinking that those outer nails are always longer. As soon as her nails have any ground pressure on them our dog incessantly licks until she gets an infection. Hates having her nails done but also hates when her nails are too long. 🙄

    I don't understand.. You say to use a 30 or 40 blade but a 10 is more risky as it may cut the ear? Are not the 30, 40 much closer to skin and would cut more easily than a 10? What am I missing?

    I finally found a slighter better video describing how the blade actually trims, i.e. the trick having to do with placement for longer hair. Yet, I am still confused as even with all the clips in place, it appears that the actual cutting part is really still in the same spot so hence no matter what it would still cut at that length. Is there a video showing a close up of I e. Fake fur and how the hair cuts I e. .5 m. Versus 1 inch? I'm scared to use the clips on my dog and press it completely against his skin as I only want to trim a mm or so and not trim off any of his under coat. I'd love an up close view of how these clip ons really work in cutting or trimming a coat. Is this possible? Thanks!!

    It's WWIII trying to clip my dog's nails. They were long at the shelter because she was so uncooperative and they didn't want to fight with her. Even calming supplements or medication didn't work. We trim once a month and she's pretty spicy. But now that she's older, I'm going to have to increase the frequency.

    I got a dog with a very mixed coat. Head like a mop and bald in other areas. I shaved the lot down to one length to get an overall tidiness and to treat some wounds then again with a comb to level up when it had grown a bit. Once it’s all thick and re-established, I’m keeping her short. And I’m doing it myself. To hell with the trendy thing. I have a slicker brush which she HATES. I HAD A GO WITH IT ON MY HEAD AND I UNDERSTAND WHY.

  • @c.rutherford
    @c.rutherfordАй бұрын

    Honestly someone needs to make a video on training your dog to have its nails filed, because this is hugely difficult for some dog owners. I can't even get my dog to stay in the same room when the dremel is running. I got one burp on one of her nails, basically touched it for a second on low speed and she yanked her paw away and growled (which is a never before in history) and now its pretty much impossible. I have a Wahl 2 which I'm keeping for other use..... but I may have to surrender on the nail filing altogether :(

  • @dreiaugen
    @dreiaugen22 күн бұрын

    @c.rutherford it's all about creating positive associations with the behavior you want. I'd start by just having the dremel visible to her (but at a distance), and reward her for seeing it and not reacting. She will start to associate the dremel with getting treats. Then move up to asking her to sniff it. Don't force it - let her get comfortable, and reward her each time. Eventually you'll have to move up to turning it on. Since it's noisy, start with it at a distance...turn it on and back off, and give her a treat. Just keep working on each new phase until she's comfortable.
