Welcome to "Third Thai's a Charm" Tracy, Ray, Fiona and Mango! Retired and living in the Land of Smiles! 🇹🇭
The meaning behind our channel name~
We were living in Mysore, India in 2009 and we had to do a Visa Run and a few dear friends suggested we fly to Bangkok and check out Thailand as they had a feeling we would love it there..
the rest is history so to speak.
In 2016 we sold everything we owned (including our house in southern California) packed up our two dogs and we moved to Hua Hin, Thailand. We had the most wonderful time there, but our Chihuahua, Bindi was having some issues with the heat and humidity so we came back to the US to finish up another 5-6 years so Ray could collect his pension with UPS.
Flash forward to January 2023..Ray retired on January 20th, 2023 and we arrived in Bangkok, Thailand on February 2nd with our beloved street dog from Mysore, India, Princess Fiona!
We're so happy you're here to see our everyday life in the Kingdom 🇹🇭🙏🏼

I LOVE you guys! I have been living in Bangkok for 3 years. Forget the Netflix dive this weekend. I am catching up on all your videos. Also will share with others.
Why Thank You for that kind compliment 🩵🤗🙏🏼 We appreciate you watching our channel 🥰 Perhaps we will meet you one day! 🫶🏼✨🌟
Your hair looks great.

@@ThirdThaisaCharm We are excited🙂
Hi Tracy and Ray Love your channel Might see you in Bangkok next year
Sounds great! Thank You so much!!✨🌟✨🫶🏼🩶
I’m wondering with areas of your condo , it’s very nice view around
We’re in the Watthana area ☺️
You guys are great! Funny and informativ at the same time <3
Thanks so much! We like to have fun 🤗🫰💞
Could you talk a little about the 'Thankas' that you have please
You noticed our very special Thangkas 🙏🏼 We used to live in India and we have travelled there 9 times..we purchased them there and one was from Nepal that I acquired from Guru Jagats studio RAMA in Venice California..who left her body in August of 2021. We also have some very sacred Buddhas blessed and filled with prayers by the Tibetan Monks in India as well 🙏🏼
Thanks for the informative video, will try to extend on my own the second time as well. Could you guys share the Bangkok agent you used?
You are very welcome! I honestly wouldn’t recommend our agent as she charges WAY TOO MUCH!! I know you can find a cheaper option. 💸💸💸💸
@@ThirdThaisaCharm Gotcha, will look around ;)
Nice content 🤗😊👍❤️🎉🎊
Thank you! We appreciate you being here! 🙏🏽🦋💜
Get your health insurance as soon as possible, please! It doesn't matter how healthy you are; what matters is what happens if you, God forbid, are in a serious accident. If you don't have insurance, private hospitals won't accept you and will refer you to a government hospital, which means that receiving care will, at best, be delayed. However, people have died while waiting in ambulances. Carry your insurance card and a letter telling the hospital who to contact for a cash deposit with you at all times, as advised by another Thailand KZreadr. Love your vids, wish you all the best!
We absolutely are~~Thank You for this comment. We know it's important..just deciding on who to go with now at this point 🥰🫶🌟
@@ThirdThaisaCharm 👍Hope for a video about your experience with Thai health insurance
hi and greetings from San Francisco... i live here but am planning to move to Bangkok after Labor Day.. I have a question ....please help if you can. I have two cats who are family and I need to know if you don't mind who you contacted to find a pet friendly place in Bangkok. Is there a way you could put me in touch with someone? I kind of desire to live in the Phrom Phong area so maybe you all kind people could send me some contact information on pet friendly places or such. And it's great to hear from you.. as I prepare my move to Bangkok and then after six months to Hua Hin. p.s. I have a beautiful Thai lady in my life in Bangkok.. so excited! i'm hoping I hear back from you...
Hi David~~ Wish you the Best of luck on your move here to Bangkok! Most every condo we have looked at or seen accepts cats. It's dogs that are tricky, so you should have No problem at all getting a place with your cats! 😻 If you have a Thai lady living here already then I honestly would suggest you have her do the footwork for you as since she is Thai, she will be able to speak with everyone and get you a place. So much more than we could do...🤗💜🙏🏽 Good Luck!!
You two feel like kindred spirits ;-) Love your videos and your fantastic lifestyle. I agree totally with your stance on the "medical system" ... Big P$arma = Big $$$. Avoid at All Cost ! The human body is miraculous and knows what to do for best results. I'll be 66 in a few weeks ... vegetarian, fitness fanatic and feel like a million bucks ! Keep on ... Keepin' On !! ❤
YES!!!! We are SUCH kindred spirits indeed! 🌟✨🤩 Thank You SO much for watching and being here!! Love This!! xx
You can get a nice 2 BR apartment for 12-15000 Baht in Bangkok... with all the Amenities (1-2 pools, sauna, gym, security, AC)
Good to know! Some of my subscribers on tight budgets might be curious about those places. If it’s a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom , dog friendly, with all amenities in a great neighborhood..what a Deal!!
So, about how much would a family of 4 cost to live in Bangkok (modestly but not impoverished)? I have seen estimates of around USD $3000 / month. Does this sound about right? Please, let me know. Not a lavish lifestyle.
That's a little bit hard to answer as of course there are so many variables..all I can say is what is costs for the two of us with our lifestyle and living arrangements. You will most likely have to do your research to get your total that it would cost you and your family here in Bangkok ☺️🌸🦋
Thumbs up 👍 Tracy & Ray…..looks like you folks are enjoying the BKK lifestyle 😎
We sure are 🥭🍚☺️
Great video! Thank you for the update and information on your journey. I have a question about the FB women’s group you’re apart of and the name of it. I’m apart of a couple Thailand groups but would really like a women’s group to connect.
There are a couple Christina..there is Bangkok Women's Collective and Farang Girls in Bangkok. Both Great!!
Tracy… the haircut looks good on you! Love the short cut actually 😍
Thank You so much! ☺️
Hi Tracy and Ray, so sorry to hear about Fiona, give he a kiss from me, love your update, I am getting set to be moving to Thailand next month, just sorting out the sale on my flat, I have acupuncture every week for the inflammation, I love it, I want to get into fitness when I move to Thailand, you both are a breath of fresh air xx
This is SO exciting for you Sandra!! You almost here now 😀 Thanks so much for the nice compliment 🥰
Your description of your Mother and the doctor sounds just like someone I know. She doesn't exercise and is constantly going to the doctor. I take Silica to get rid of aluminium from my body. It is very good for your hair and nails also. I have to cut my nails twice a week they grow so quick and I cut my hair every week. You are both looking great 👍
Oh yes..Silica! I do remember that Chris..good one as well! Thank You for the compliment...we're always working on that as you know 😉🥰
@@ThirdThaisaCharm I look forward to your next video 😊
Give Fiona love ❤ poor girl ! Your hair looks great Tracy ! Love you girl ! Miss u
My water bill was $135 and electric bill was $269 in California ❤
I’m anti doctor too ❤lol 😂
UGH 😩
☺️ we know...🫣
Love You!! 🤗❣️
Subscribed! You two are awesome making this wonderful content for us. Great video! Last night I saw the video about you two leaving HH and go to BKK. 🙏
Thanks so much Christina 🥳❣️😀
Ok you're 62?!? You look FANTASTIC! You have encouraged me to get my health in check!!
That is what I LOVE!!! Inspiring others ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ Thank You so much Nikki! 🥰
Would be very tempted to eat out if I lived there. Be cheaper than eating in. I would think
Many people do just that Lillian! It's definitely very doable!!
I don't want to stir things up, but I am interested in what you think about the changes in Thai tax policy. Much is unclear, but what are you thinking right now.
Actually we aren't going to worry about that until it becomes a reality..because here in Thailand things change like the wind blows. I think they would be losing a lot of potential expats if they did implement it though.
@@ThirdThaisaCharm thanks. I agree.
Both of your haircuts look great; they did an amazing job.
Thank You so much Ken! Jimmy is great at what he does for sure!! 🌟🫶💜
I was wondering when you two would arise again. Glad your precious pup is ok. Loved your video on grocery shopping. Quality of food obviously over and above. I eat plant based and don’t drink alcohol or smoke any ingestive substances and your videos are my guiding star to Thailand. Can’t express enough how much your presence is enlightening me to Bangkok. I pay in mortage for a 3000 sq ft home, alone, what you pay in monthly expenses -thanks So much for the breakdown. God bless til I see you again🙏🏻
Fiona is on her way to being 100% again. Thank You so much! Yes, Bangkok is most definitely more reasonable that many places in the world. So happy we're here 💜🙏🏽
@@ThirdThaisaCharm many well wishers I feel sure watching you all and cheering your thriving spirits on. Fiona is a doll baby and glad she is there and getting her needs met. Stay well🙏🏻
Love your hair 😍
Awe! Thank You ☺️ ✨🤗
I was surprised you two don’t really go out to eat. Enjoying the endless possibilities of food choices is part of the experience living here in Thailand. Bkk has excellent vegan/vegetarian hidden gems too.
We have hit up a couple of Vegan places, but just really we aren’t “foodies” per say. We have time..we will enjoy some of those amazing places in time for sure 🥗🥑🥙🍲🌯🤩
You have a handsome man there,so glad you are enjoying life's journey together ps lots of love to your beautiful furry friend 🧡
🥰❤️
If u guys want to save more , get BTS and MRT senior citizens cards ... they give u a big discount ... take your passport and show them your age ... 60 yrs old is senior
Nice video guys, time in the gym is a great insurance policy and great for your mental health.
Oh wow! We have the MRT Senior Card, but we didn't know the BTS offered one as well. Will definitely check into that now as well!! Thank You so much for letting us know 🙏🏽☺️
SOOO True Bradley! 🌟🫶✨❣️
@@ThirdThaisaCharm Your budget seems very reasonable.Bargain really for your lifestyle and being in a big city, would be twice that in Australia. Two men running ha ha love it 😊
I know the BTS stopped giving senior discounts before COVID; I am not sure about MRT.
Omg... That’s cheap. Best value ❤in life. Enjoy lifetime. ❤❤
WE are SO Happy here! Loving it ALL ❤️💜❤️
I guess for perspective, a Thai college graduates with a 4 year degree minimum wage is 15,000 Thai baht per month. So your life style seems rather lavish in perspective. Your rent alone is double that............. just sayin'
🙏🏼
Why and How can you compare a local to an expat. That makes no sense
Yes..our thoughts exactly Sharon 😉
@@sharonbarrerogarciaOn the other hand, they compared their rent to that of Northern California. Of course they'll pay less here. What they are spending per month is well beyond the means of the average Thai, so it is fair to point that out. Their budget is extravagant by my standards... and I'm a farang! Of course we have different tastes, needs, and comfort levels, so it would be meaningless to compare their budget to mine.
@@mythai05 In every country in the world people live different types of lifestyle doesn't matter where you live. Yes some expats can live even more abundantlty and others cant depending on many factors. I believe all they are doing is simply showing their own lifestyle in Thailand compared to what that same lifestyle would cost in their own country to show people not in Thailand what is possible. Good on them for being able to live how they desire too and having a lifestyle that makes them happy 🙏💜
Aaaahhhaaahaha I laughed at that person’s comment too. What a loser! Don’t worry I get what you mean. One would only know what a natural high is only when they’ve experienced it. I get you totally. Sending love and keep posting videos!! 🫶♥️🥰
So funny isn't it?! Ya, some people just don't "get it" I guess 🤭💜☺️
sorry to hear that..I am planning to retire in a month or two to Hua hin.. Where in Thailand is there not a shortage?
Not sure how to answer that..Thailand is a vast country 🇹🇭✨💫🙏🏼
Did you give your pets any anxiety meds to help them sleep? I would worry that upon arrival they would be so lathargic that the people would be concerned they are ill. We have two Chis and the opposite could be true, that they bark like crazy.
Hi Heather, We have never given them any anxiety meds. We were advised that it’s not a safe thing for them and they have never had them and they were absolutely fine without them. Honestly if you give your pets anything before flying (if you feel they need something to calm them) I would recommend “Rescue Remedy” for pets. You can get it at Whole Foods or a natural food store and they have it for people as well. It’s perfectly safe and it works! I’ve taken it for myself ☺️🩵
My husband and I are moving to Thailand (Hua Hin) August (2024) we plan on going to Bangkok frequently, I hope we get a chance to meet up with you two!!
Congratulations to you both! We hope you’ll have a lovely life here in The Kingdom of Thailand 🇹🇭 ❤️🥰☺️
thanks for replying to me and telling me all this ... Great to see you just before you left Hua Hin, Enjoy Bangkok. Thanks again.
How awesome!❤
You are so kind Mary 🥹🥰♥️
Question? How did you get your dog to Thailand? Can you give me the details? Please Hope you are enjoying Bangkok.
Hi CJ! I actually have a few videos in my "Bringing a dog to Thailand" Playlist if you click on my home page and Playlist. You will see them there under "Bringing a dog to Thailand" 😊🫶 Hope they help! We also can do Zoom calls as well!
@@ThirdThaisaCharm thanks will watch them
Hi Sue and Ray , love your vlogs. My husband and I are regulars to Thailand from Sydney 🇦🇺. We’re planning a long term stay in Hua Hin. This heartwarming vlogg is very special. Who knows we may cross paths in Bangkok 🙏🏽🫶🌈
Apologies Tracey……… not Sue 😂😂
Hi Terri~~Thanks so much for watching our video! It means so much to us that you enjoyed it as much as we did 🙏🏽🦋🌸❣️Bangkok is a big city..but I think we could cross paths one day 😉 Best~~Tracy and Ray 🥰
🤣😂🥰
Thumbs up 👍 Tracy & Ray 😎
😁🥰🫶🏼
Great information, I'll check into the VIP service. I found the only non stop flight in north America to Thailand which flies out of Vancouver BC, which is the route I'll take from the US to avoid any layovers once the dog is loaded on the plane. Also you make it sound (17:35) like the rabies vaccine needs to be given no more than a year prior, which is incorrect, the Thai import document states: "The country has been free from Rabies for at least the past 12 (twelve) months OR the animals are vaccinated against Rabies with an official approved vaccine not less than 21 (twenty- one) days prior to the departure". Basically the health cert and all of the documents from Thai state the Dog(s) needs to be vaccinated not less than 21 days prior for all of the required vaccinations..
Happy shopping❤ love you
Love YOU!! 😘 ❤️😘
Thanks for another informative video. We are living through you guys and really appreciate your content. Are bicyclist allowed to ride on the side walks in Bangkok?
Thank You so much 🙏🏼🩵 Yes, they are. We normally ride in the street on the far left but sometimes we hop up on the sidewalk if we need to. I see people ride on them all of the time as well 🚲☺️🫶🏼
@@ThirdThaisaCharm Thank you!
I think you two do a really great job producing your videos and I also enjoy your music selections. I've been watching Thailand/Bangkok KZread videos for a while and I think I know who you met... first name begins with a C maybe 😁🤷♂️. Anyway, another great video. Thanks! Dan from Virginia Beach

It really is pure Magic! I could Never get tired of looking at that view from my living room 🤩💫🌟💖 We’re so in complete awe of this Amazing city 🌆 🌃🌇🙏🏼
Do you pay VAT? You do in the UK at Makro adds another 20 to the bill
Yes. We do pay VAT. It added on 280 baht.🤷🏻♀️
It's a beautiful apartment, but Buddha head should have not been used for decoration.
Actually we have utmost Respect for the large Buddha head in our home as well as all of our other sacred Buddha statues we acquired while living in India and having them Blessed by our Tibetan Monks in the monastery. They mean much more to us than simply being a decoration 🙏🏼
@@ThirdThaisaCharm that is good to hear you have and respect Buddha in your house. The apartment owner have buddha head for declaration only.
Oooooh. Love your video. Thx
Thank You so much! Happy you're here ☺️
