This movie breathed "true" to me me in a way not many others did. I'm from Portugal, I know quite a bit about what internationally you may call "The Age of Discovery". I'm not an expert in the particulars of "New England" in the 17th Century, but they truly seem close to the stuff I've learned about in school and aftwerwards I've explored about. We didn't call them "Witch Hunts" I suppose, but Catholic people did burn people at the stake... This movie was very authentic in the portrayal of everything, and also managed to realize a chilling horror film within it. Masterful, imho. And the casting, omg, SO SPOT ON. The father, the mother, the runts of kids that the twins are, the older child Thomasin who is still a girl (with all the duties and "values" that involves in the 17th Century) and then Caleb forced to be stronger and wiser way above his years... And you can tell in particular the love between Caleb and Thomasin. This movie is very sensibly done, a true gem. I love how the director mentions "the way the lay-family would experience something like this at the time" - this is cool. I don't care how this looks in present day society: this movie (imho) is about how this sort of stuff would play out THEN.

we are Aussies(my daughter n I) we dont call the show outlander, we call it 'Jamie'..... I've read all the books! My daughter Lara had foxtel so she taped the episodes and when we both had spare time we'd watch together.. Sometimes we couldnt stop...! Love the show, needs to be more acsessible. After we all got flooded out of Lismore we havent seen any more. My Lara and her husband both lost their cars and everything else.. had to wait for a boat. Now they moved to Victoria 🌻🙏😄 thank you Dianna Gabaldon, for doing research of Scotish history, My dad was born in Dunfirmline..has now passed xxx
