Tons of my friends/fellow competitors in this one. It's great, but sad, some of them are no longer with us. Seeing them at their peak (like my dear friend Bob Whitely and his magnificent 'stach, Bill Fitzgerald and his infamous pen doing the judging). I note that the main guy in the aerobatics section is still very much with us, although his hair is much, er, "compact" an gray - Bob Hunt.

I grew up with this from age 4. It taught me craftsmanship skills and applied science. I grew up to be on the team that built the 757, CH47D and the V22. Still flying control line models age 68.

i have a 40 twin...starts and runs well ( with no remote ignition kill) but can not get its idle low enough, and using a remote kill switch on the ignition lead causes it to hunt and mis-run...so haven't been able to resolve these issues and fly it yet - you need a remote ignition kill on these petrol engines.

"This starter engine is A GOOD INNOVATION MR. FITZ. WE NEED MORE MODELS LIKE THIS TO GIVE THE OPERATOR A REALISTIC FEEL WITHOUT THE HAND HELD STARTER MOTOR ASSEMBLY APPLIED TO THE SPINNER FOR ROTATION SET IGNITION. I FEEL? AN ELECTRIC MOTOR IS O.K, BUT? GAS IS THE WAY TO GO, THE OPERATOR WILL UNDERSTAND STall AND RECOVERY DUE TO MIXTURE THROTTLE SETTINGS. ALSO? FOR NONE EXPERIENCED CANDIDATES IN AN Aviation ACADEMY TRAINING CENTER IT IS A GOOD TOOL TO USE DURING THE TRAINING EXERCISES. I FEEL IT WOULD ENCOURAGE MORE POTENTIAL PILOTS AND FUTURE MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL For regulated flights." 👍

Nice video. Great narration voice. Another new engine from,,,,,China? Same price as DLE except with a starter, or 470 without starter. I was wondering for over 65 years when someone would come out with a starter. I like the one wheel landings. Impressive. Nice fun plane.

My new hearing aids are now lost after two days and constant questioning. Horizon Hobbies scammed me out of $602 one day ago and I have not gone on the site in SIX MONTHS. FRAUD investigation is on going. Maybe next year I can get back to Model Plane building as this is the third scam this year and the raising interest rates to 30% has forced me out.

I'm amazed that they didn't got a visit from the military, fbi or cia, because they invented a device that could control a apparatus from a distance, so then you would think that the government, fbi or cia would be worried as hell, because when 2 simple civilians could make this, then the enemy could make weapons that could attack the USA from a long distance and far away from the battlefield itself, so that should have sounded very scary to those who were in power.

IMO I think a model control line plane built for speed should still look like a plane. a fuse with one wing is not a plane. Speed run cars model or 1:1 still resemble cars.
