I don't know if I would change a thing but if you want something smoother than a hydraulic fitting in your hand I used a knob bolt from Amazon. A 1/4" knob bolt will screw into a raw end of the 1/4" hydraulic hose. I put sealant on mine but I don't think you have to. I current fish a lot so I needed one in the pipe to add some resistance so it wouldn't turn unless I wanted it to. I used aluminum with bearings and it turned very easily before the tension knob bolt was added. Most of these things are trial and error. lol

@@hazmoreoutdoorproducts2977 I mounted my rig to the Humminbird 360 pole so it goes in with the trolling motor way up on the front of the boat 5' away. I know because I needed a 6' piece of hydraulic hose. That was the main expense of the build. I live between Watts Bar and Sequoyah nuclear plants and they take their scrap to Seaton Metals in Athens Tn. where I buy aluminum and stainless for $1.25 per pound. Almost any size you can imagine so the metal was cheap and so were the stainless ball bearings and collars from Amazon. They got me on the hose but nothing else worked as well and believe me I tried several things. I even tried a toilet snake, (a new toilet snake) but as you can imagine it was shitty. (pun intended) My next project will be power poles. Seaton had 1"diameter stainless conduit that I'm planning to start with, Walmart has 8' fiberglass poles in the garden section, and the plates/mounts will be aluminum. I think 12 volt actuators will be enough to hold a metal boat I just don't want the extremely slow ones. That will be the expense in this project. I don't want a remote just a simple up and down switch. I'd be happy if they held in 12' but we'll see. These mounts also need to fold forward for backing in the garage or not going through the roof of the boat dock. When your boat is going up in the lift you do not want to hear wood splintering. Not that I do anything like that. lol

  • @hazmoreoutdoorproducts2977

The back rest is nice, but they definitely aren't made for all summit stands. It doesn't fit my viper steel stand like the open shot summit shown in the video. The back rest is basically floating with the straps holding it in place. Had to leave it a little loose so that I could still pack my climber. It was in the way otherwise. It's still comfortable. From what little I can tell it's there, but definitely not what I was anticipating.
