#RIPSRV In college my friends and I used to see Stevie every Friday Night at the Continental Club in Austin, Tx. The cover charge was $1 and $1 beers. We got acquainted a little before he started to really make it big. He lived a few streets up the hill at Barton Springs & my place. One night he left the sweaty shirt he performed in the back of my car. The next thing I knew he was off on his 1st trip to Europe & the Montreux Jazzfest 1981 I believe. I had the shirt dry cleaned and ready for his next show upon his return to Austin. He was so happy when I took the shirt backstage. He told me that it was his favorite shirt and he always knew I'd bring it back to him. I was never able to speak with him again shortly after that. He started to really make it big with security everywhere he went. What an amazing soul. I really miss him. Thank The Lord we have these concert videos! Peace and Love to ALL SRV Fans !! #RIPSRV

Got to see him and Double Trouble twice, 1986 w Gregg Allman Band opening, and again in 1987 w The Fabulous Thunderbirds opening. Two amazing double bills for blues rock fans, and tickets were under $20. Good times. We miss you, Stevie.

Watch at minute 11:31 during Voodoo Chile hoe Stevie is in the beginning his solo and the guy in white comes up to shake his hand, Stevie shakes it and keeps on jammin with the other hand with a steady flow! this is why he is the best blues guitarist to ever walk the earth!!

Stevie's riffs inspired a generation of guitar players from the 90s. You can hear guys like Cantrell and McCreedy in these riffs. Pretty awesome stuff...

He played the same song on Letterman the same year with the Late Night band and the sound was horrible. They couldn't get his mic right and it just sounded like a bad setup. Arsenio's sound people didn't have that problem.
