    Thanks for that, great little video and clear instructions. Also the setting - - - instead of 001 to 999 means infinite loops

    As someone who hauls around ladders and sets them up alot, sometimes the big honkin 12 footer step ladder inside of houses and the extendable 20 footer outside, this is a big gamechanger to not have to take down the ladder from the truck top, set up and move the whole thing into place and struggle to find an even footing as it seems every house has an unleveled yard all around the areas you have open to setting a ladder up on, and some places might be level everywhere BUT where you must do the work which conveniently ends up being just slanted enough the ladder wants to slide one way! ITs really lazy and ridiculous when builders keep constructing the houses with half the yard being higher than the other half starting halfway around the house, but the whole house was built on leveled ground...like why cant they level the ground out from the house another 10-20 feet?!

    I hate ladders, but they are so necessary so many times. My guess is you need to go up on roof for gutter clearing and or chimney sweeping, as I do.

    It may take 2 hours if you have all the material ready, you've done this project before, you're not a perfectionist so you don't care about the dirty wood and the stamps on it, and you don't care about finishing it.

    That is a good idea. We do have a hatch in the big shed to get out onto the roof, similar to this one. But in our case the hatch is in an end wall which stands higher than the roof does. In that way I can climb up into the end wall which is about 30 inches wide and out onto the roof. And like you say no ladders needed. But I like your idea too. Also, I am looking forward to your take on soldering galvanized sheet metal. Thank you for this one as well.

    Your movement using X+/- and Y+/- seems smooth and not real jerky. I have similar project (Thanks You!!) and have nearly followed your steps. But the jerkiness concerns me. How would you advise I change the OpenBuilds control software settings to not be so jerky. The sewing machine is heavy and everything is bouncing around when moving. X is over 12ft wide and Y is 3ft deep. thanks

    Hey I got a question I bought a new carb for this and it came with a fuel filter? But I don’t know where to install it

  • @SoatMon
    @SoatMon8 күн бұрын

    The filter goes in the fuel line between the gas tank and the carburetor. There should already be one that you would replace.

    I have a brand new sheet of galvanized metal that i want to paint. Should I still prep it with comet or something else to degrease

  • @SoatMon
    @SoatMon8 күн бұрын

    The comet helps degrease and scuff the surface. Then use an etching primer and you should be good to go.

    i just got my first saw. seems odd they don't make the cut location obvious and foolproof. i guess it is, but i can tell you, after 2 cuts so far, it must take more than 2 cuts to figure it out. i googled the laser. i'll get one of those.

    Very well done. Another good idea for the farm. Just a quick question. Why is it that you don't like the turtles in the pond? Or is it that you just like turtle soup??? But we are now having to irrigate the garden it is extremely dry here and the sun is hotter than ever. But with watering and the hot son things are growing almost out of control. Have a good weekend and stay out of the heat.

    Yes, *BUT* your machine only shakes the bottom of the can. When shaking the can MANUALLY, the can is shaken in a more up and down movement , from the top to the bottom direction. You can fix your machine to do this action by rotating your cage 90° to place the can at the bottom of the mechanism. You will have to install an arm to place the cage much lower down. Then the can is moved in a more "human like" manner, the paint and ball are then moved top to bottom.

  • @SoatMon

    The shaking motion works great. I use it weekly and shake cans that haven't been used in years. No problems!

    So, your repair works for the time being, BUT: the problem I see here is that the rivet-like plated holes (known as "vias") that pass voltage or signal through the board from one side to the other are visibly corroded, especially down inside where you cant see it, and eventually they will fail. Sometimes you can clean the face of the via on either side of the board and pass a very thin jumper wire down through the hole and solder it on both sides, but it's tricky, and sometimes the hole is too small or full of corrosion, or a varnish-like conformal coating from initial manufacture, to allow a wire to pass through the hole. I repaired a Bose radio once that had some kitchen spillage in it; the cortosion was confined to about a 1 square inch area on the double-sided board, and yet it turned out to be much more work to fix it than I had expected. PS, Don't use an exacto knife for scraping the corrosion off of the board, use a fiberglass-bristle "scratch brush"; you can see them in a video on my channel. An ink eraser is also helpful if it has pumice or silica or other fine grit embedded in the rubber.

    It's telling, watching DIY videos from 5-10 years ago, when everything was still affordable. It's funny because you said $70 for a new bird bath was too much, yet all that lumber/materials used here to make this thing would easily be $150 now. Maybe more. Looks good though!
