    "Falcon is Captain America for some reason." Yeah, the reason is, it happened in the comics, and the comics have a history of promoting the sidekick to the main role. Hope, with Falcon it's not an issue.

    I would use Tiny D6 for Supers any time. It is easy to create a character and play. It also downplays guns as just another weapon that does no more or less damage than your super powers do. It is also so "vague" with how powers work that you can make anything using actually very little rules. Are you super fast because you run like Quicksilver or The Flash, or are you using time control, or do you have a gadget that lets you do this? The answer is you say how it works, and we go with that.

    There's way too little Hero System content on KZread, so thanks for this, I enjoyed your conversation! Also, an actual play maybe even a non-superhero actual play would be great! I'm a newbie when it comes to Hero System .. I found it not too long time ago and it's a shame it's not more popular. I got Fantasy Hero Complete and plan to run a game in the near future :)

    Since Michael Surbrook took all those "characters" that were, in his words, "Lost to Time", and wrote them in 6th edition rules. Will he do the same of any others from what appears to be 4th edition era? i.e. Protectors? Allies? etc...etc?

  • @profpurge
    @profpurge6 ай бұрын

    Michael Surfbrook's site is an amazing source for HERO/Champions write-ups of all sorts, along with providing complete revision/fix-ups for two of semi-notorious Champions Enemies books, the International Enemies (which just seemed to be lazy in places, and not rules-specific in others) and the widely-considered-worst of early Champions books, European Enemies.

    I can attest to the smooth running of Jacobs creation, doesn't bogg down with crunch and the story drives forward by itself which I love.🎉 I mix in the copyright book with eletrocube rules with no headache. And preferred the cube for play! High-quality, Highly-recommend!👌

    I'm loving these lunchtime beat-'em-ups, and the Valor Knights game in general! I saw you (and it) on Four-Color Cafe earlier this week, and realized I'd bought Valor Knights quite some time ago and just forgotten about it. But you of the Bamf Podcast have reminded me, so I bought a bunch of your stuff for this system, and have been tracking down your actual-plays, since I missed them in their original airing. (I go through stints with podcasting-including my own, Monkeys Took My Jetpack-where I rediscover the joys of things like reading actual books and such, and forget about podcasts and podcasting for a while.) Thank you for doing what you do! Incidentally, although it has nothing whatsoever to do with what's going on in the episode here, I figure since I'm writing this comment, I have the floor-so I'll take the opportunity to point out that we of Monkeys Took My Jetpack have gotten-and are about to get-a lot of mileage from your Icons Improbable Tales line. We had a blast with the Sugarhill Invasion, and I'm about to run the group through the one involving the Yeti invasion-Ice-capades, I believe is the name; don't have it handy to check at the moment. But thank you for that as well. Your work is awesome! -BlindGeek

    @@BAMFPodcast well, I didn’t run it when I originally planned because one of the players has had to drop out of the group and I really wanted him to experience it along with us, so we are going to see if he can rejoin after this term (the college professor), and go from there. But when I do run it… And I do say when I run it I will let you know how it goes, and even provide a link to the podcast if you’d like.

    Great to hear from Mike Surbrook, he's been like a best friend to me when it comes to Champions and Herosystem (though we have never met nor communicated) since around year 2000. He actually hosted on his website one of my rpg projects (Vampire the Masquerade in Herosystem) and I'm eternally grateful he did, since it was the only way I could get it back after a horrendous computer crash. I never knew about the Strikeforce pdf so I happily purchased one just now. Thank you BAMF podcast for another great interview.
