Most of our shopping for fresh fruit and vegetables is done at the Friday market in Torrevieja with our shopping trolley where we tend to spend around 50 euros. It does not last as long but then it's not chlorinated and tastes so much better that our pre-packaged stuff. When we are over for our 90 days we use Mercadona or Carrefour but stick in the main with Spanish brands although we make the odd visit to the Food Co. Our food shop in Spain works out around 20% cheaper than in the UK.

That's a little odd, from the Kiosk I buy 4 donuts 1 euro, large bag of mandarins, lemons or oranges (carrier bag full size) 5 euro, Kellogg's cereals are around 3.95 in carrefour for the 450g boxes, beans , potatoes, and bread more expensive cheapest sliced 1,25euro 800g, milk more expensive in stores 1.05eur litre, meat is cheaper and quality good if you to butchers, can pickup 2 chickens small for 6 euro in dia% butter 2.40euro salted 250g, - I generally find it cheaper, but if I go anywhere near the coast its more expensive obviously if I want branstons pickles more expensive, whisky from 4.50 euro 70cl, - so at a glance, no I don't think Morrisons cheaper in UK than Spain, it is for cheese, pork sausages, and some brit brands, baked beans, and tinned goods (jars here in spain, for a lot of veg) I also go every other month to Morrisons in Gib and only buy selected items in bulk - obviously cannot take dairy, and meat over the frontier but stock up with tins etc.. and desert pastries I buy some of the morrisons ones coz they taste better -- (donuts is an example, as jam donuts are not really a thing here, unless you think of the vanilla yum yums which are not yum)... - btw when I lived in Torrevieja near via park3, I always found Spain more expensive, same with canary islands (Lanzarote), but its much cheaper now I live in the mountains in Sierra Tejeda been here since 2007 but to be honest I left UK in 1997 went other places and was thinking next year I fancy Porto Portugal, I really dislike urbanisations and being surrounded fellow brits or Germans etc, so even in Porto if I venture there wouldn't choose to be in the city, I do travel a lot though, for those looking prices, Diesel here costs me 1.38 euro a litre, seems to fluctuate a lot, and keeping my home running is about 80 euro a month on electricity unless I use the ac then its 250 a motnh, gas butane 12.5kg fluctuates too, around the 18euro for the cylinder refill, gas I go through about 12.5kg a week, for water and cooking (oven is electric btw) although do have a wood oven too, and buying wood in the campo can get a large quantity of wood for 25euro (half skip) but on the coast eg Eroski, a small bag is about 25euro for the fire - although generally I use gas for heating in the winter, -- where I am I get snow in winter, but now its been edging up to 28C in day time, summer hit 40C last year,.. for couple weeks, Anyway thanks content, I do enjoy your videos, but felt this worthy a longer comment, because there is a massive disparity between the populated coast and a little bit interior in shopping prices, the countryside is cheaper but you got to know what you are doing and where to go. The quality of fruit and veg plus most importantly taste is better here in Spain. Bulk spices are cheaper in Spain if you go the right place, I used to buy them in the spice shop next to bus station in Torrevieja it was expensive though, have since found much better sources, I do shop around a lot, and route plan accordingly to incorporate touristic activities, menu of the day eat out (around 10 euro for 3 courses) and so on... if I did all shopping in two places like mercadona and just the market, it would work out much more expensive for me.

At 1 minute, that dark grey colour of the beach is a result of years of slag depositing from the lead mines locally (not far from La Union- los mineros). We drove towards the beach in the 1980s but were advised after speaking with locals never to sunbathe there, because it is toxic with a high concentration of lead deposit in the sand. Many in La Manga know to avoid Portman beach.

People are holidaying in uk these days. All the campsites are fully booked over summer. Outdoor activities like kayaking and hiking being really popular. We're struggling to get booked ourselves. The weather is gorgeous too. We've had some good summers. It might be reason why its so empty there in June. Unless this is siesta time 🤣

When I used to go to Villamartin I am sure fairways used to be downstairs where the curry restaurant is on the corner. The driving range for the golf course was directly facing the plaza and you could see straight down to the salt lakes from the first floor. There was also a restaurant called birdies on the opposite end to fairways and a little mini bowling alley. Late 90’s, seems to have changed a lot since then.
