I think this video or rather this pyramid illustrates very nicely what factors led to why specifically pyramids were built. 1) An anthropological explanation: People see a volcano, are impressed by it, it becomes the center of their religion, they create a monument in the shape of a volcano. 2) An architectural explanation: Earthquakes force people to abandon building delicate towers and tall monuments. Instead, when people want to build tall, they will have to build wide also. Prolonged use of these structures, and gradual decay of them, forces people to build more and more protective layers around it (perhaps inspiring next generations to build their pyramids in a step-wise shape to begin with?). Round shapes may be harder to maintain in the face of frequent earthquakes, and a more rectangular shape may be easier to incorporate into urban design with roads and plazas. The anthropological explanation will vary with culture and location, but the argument about the general statics and architecture should hold true across many different regions. Aliens or Atlantis are not necessary in this explanation.

The history of the indigenous peoples in the Americas is much, much older than a few thousand years. The Hopi people tell that they arrived in the America’s about 30,000 years ago when the continent that they were living on, Lemuria, sank under water. They claim to be the ancestors of the Maya. We judge the Maya, Aztecs, Inca’s and others on the traces that we find. But when we dig our way from the present to the past, we must know that the Earth is suffering from a cycle of seven recurring natural disasters. That is told in the Popol Vuh. These disasters create a cycle of civilizations. There are four primitive civilizations, sometimes mentioned a sun or world era. The next civilization lives in the fifth sun. This becomes eventually a high developed civilization that disappeared 20,000 years ago due to the next recurring, thus predictable but inescapable disaster that is caused by the ninth planet in our solar system. That planet orbits our sun in an eccentric orbit hence it is only a short period close to our sun and its planets s it crosses the ecliptic planet at a very high speed. This high developed civilizations has built sturdy monuments all over the world and they must have buried knowledge about themselves and the world history deep in the ground. High in the mountains they have built shelters or surviving places for a selected number of people. Like Machu Picchu in Peru. The Aztec sun stone is a warning for this event is known as Quetzalcoatl, Tonatiuh, Xiuhcoatl or Nibiru in other regions. Much more details about this cycle of natural disasters and many images can be found in an e-book. "Planet 9 = Nibiru". Search: invisible nibiru 9

@@G2Bryce There was a theory that was popular among archeologists especially after World War One, when people thought they had fought the war to end all wars, which speculated that the Maya had a very peaceful civilization dedicated only to astronomy. It was wishful thinking, and later discoveries showed that they fought wars just like everybody else.

Very unusual archeological site... remimds me the mcdonalds locals in Rome, where u see kids playing around while eating mcnuggets next to a roman wall, above an ancient highway or even above a skeleton of ancient souls. A very strange energy can be felt in these places between the ancient spirits of the dead and the forgotten gods and the modern ambiance of consume and shopping.
