    how did u switch to psychiatry after being and ED attending? Did u do a another fellowship?

  • @brucebassi

    Good question, you have to do a psych residency. Most of the time you will get 1 year credit, and so psych residency will be 3 years instead of 4, but not guaranteed.

    ED nurse. It can be a satisfying career for reasons shared here. The comraderie is missed. The rotating weekends and holidays, night shifts, the horrors of the ED become erosive. You do see a lot of suffering and death. Mental illness. I stopped telling others that I was a nurse because people want to discuss their health problems with you and tbh I didn't want to hear it on my days off. Basically, I was becoming apathetic and knew it was time for a change.

    @@davidwilliams4865 Dude you're so naive I've been doing this non-stop since 1994 when I tell you non-stop that basically means no vacation, except for one month maybe of come across a lot of nurses I don't know what they teach them in the nursing school there are becoming a barrier to care super opinionated, and they will get your ass fired in no time. Get real As a person who's done it about 80,000 hours clean sheet no suits, No major complication and every firing I've had was based on some unhappiness and they told me that there are more important why the administration. This is one job that you are super vulnerable One patient complained one nurse complaint and you are out of certain ZIP code you got to look for a job somewhere else. I really want to know what will happen to you God help you with this kind of thinking

    Thank you for sharing your experience. Every specialty has positive and negative sides. Emergency Medicine is an extremely important specialty too but some are not made for it. I loved Emergency Medicine but I was not made for this as I had the tendency to look into chronic conditions of patients. I am glad and happy that you have chosen where you feel you can fit in. All the best for your career in Psychiatry.

    I found the spray to be way more affordable Bcbs covers spravato. It's 30-60 for me And they have payment assistance now. The iv, lowest price is about 400 per session. Some as high as 1000 for a session. They are trying to get the FDA and insurance companies to cover this. Pretty much all of my doctors recommend that I try it.

    I really want to do ketamine therapy. I can only afford the spravato, though. The iv sounded like a better idea with the bit of research I did. And I so want to come off Valium every day. I would so much rather be able to cope without anything of course. But I am OK with only on bad days. The day before to the day after are always so hard when it comes to the full moon for some reason. Of course, there are theories. But I so wish to do the right type of therapy. I've had Panic attacks since 16. I'm 43 now. Help I really don't know where to go

    Psychiatry presumes that their over 370 behaviors are biological diseases. That the psychiatrist voted as being a disease without a shred of biological evidence. If it was ever discovered that these mental diseases ever had a physical cause it would mean the disappearance of them into neurology.

  • @paulmathis3232
    @paulmathis32323 ай бұрын

    Psychiatry is fraudulent. Psychiatry is a construct. That is to say its made up. The diseases are created. Not found. There is virtually no science behind it. Example "Chemical imbalance " we now know was made up. Homosexuality was voted in as a disease and later out as a disease. Disease is supposed to be based on the physical integrity of the body. Diseases are what you got, not what you do. It's like calling the TV repairman because you don't like the show that's on.

    Virtually all psychiatric treatment involves destruction of the brain. Drugs, shock treatment, and psychosurgery. Usual victims are children, elderly, prisoners, and a confused mind.

    If you want to make real cash in psychiatry, limit your clinical work to just stay relevant in your medical knowledge (1-2 days per week) and focus on medical-legal expert work. There are COUNTLESS examples med-legal shrinks make well over 500K...If you're willing to grind and not whine about "a lack of balance in my life", you can make over 1 million as a psychiatrist...There are examples out there...They just don't flaunt it.

  • @brucebassi
    @brucebassi5 ай бұрын

    Thats a great point. They are usually not making youtube videos and disclosing it. Med-legal takes a bit of effort to start gaining experience, like anything.

  • @brucebassi

    Hi, parts of it you would not need to do in order to hire someone. If you already have the business entity then you do not need to do many parts of this. And yes I do talk about all these steps and break it down in the course and coaching

    Really enjoyed this message. In my psych NP program it seems we focus almost exclusively on medications to the exclusions of plant medicine. I suppose that is necessary, but I would like to see more education about this topic. When I start my practice I plan to incorporate ALL possible therapies for my patients.
