I dont understand why people add battery banks, solar, etc to a rolling generator that is a Prius. I've spent about a year living in a Prius, using only a 1200w inverter for power. I've left it in READY mode for over 3 months without issues.

It's nice to see a video from you, almost like the good old days. You and Vagabond Mango really have Prius travel/camping figured out, and post about it very imtermittently. I sold my spare 2005 Prius in 2022 when prices spiked, because I'd driven it only 3000 miles total in the 5 years after getting my 2017 Prius Prime. This month I took a 7500 mile trip in the Prime, for the first time since summer of 2021. It lacks the under-floor storage of your Prius, so I now have to choose between carrying a less than monstrous amount of stuff, or adding a cargo carrier on the roof or hitch. I've avoided using external storage so far, traveling solo and pet-free. The same 12V freezer that I used in 2021 is still running perfectly, after running it continuously at home in my bedroom to remain used to sleeping with its sounds. It's a Vevor clone of the Alpicool CX50 (50 liter) with LG compressor option. I carry some frozen food, but mainly use it to freeze drink bottles that I swap into a soft cooler bag to use as a fridge. So there are always drinks at various stages of being frozen or thawed. A mini 100Ah LiFePO4 battery has greatly extended how long I can have the car off and the freezer holding -4F, my power station is only 300Wh but this adds 1280Wh to it. I bought more refinements for the car-camping infrastructure, but haven't installed them yet. My 19-day trip burned about 125 gallons driving 7522 miles, plus about 33 gallons for running the climate control a lot when stationary and for all 13 nights I slept in it (was at an AirBNB with family 5 nights, and in a hotel 1 night), running the freezer, charging stuff, etc. So I averaged 47.4mpg with using climate control every minute I was in the car plus running the freezer continuously. I would have averaged 60mpg if I'd skipped the luxuries of having the car on when not driving.
