    It doesn’t look like there’s a torque spec for that bolt since you’re installing it with an impact driver, but I’m curious how you make sure that it doesn’t get over torqued to prevent the module’s frame from getting crushed.

    Total solar sales pitch. Reality, every kW of solar is subsidized by hydro power that could make that power and profits. Solar is out of sync with need, summer solar credits earned when reservoirs and lakes are full and overflowing and we don't need the power but solar receives a credit that is picking the pockets of every other grid customer. then the worthless summer solar credits are cashed in during winter again at the expense of every other hydro customer paying full retail for these worthless credits earned in summer. Lose lose.............Solar will play NO part in the future transition to renewables, its a shell game.

    Well, I may not be the first but I will give some constructive criticism. For one the music is too loud and is not really appropriate, I mean come on it's not an ad about a rav. Pick quieter music and have a voice tell me about the product. Ads are supposed to convince me to buy your product not repulse me.

    I don't understand the "C" designations. I have a 2.7 kw 24 volt system, 6000 watt Aims inverter, 96 amp midnight mppt controller and 16 110 amphr agm batteries. I run an aquarium, refrigerator, freezer, and some led lights at night. I get 6 to 7 hours of running before I get to 50% DOD according to my Trimetic monitor. I would like to get to 12 hours battery run time so I need 32 total 100 amphr batteries?

  • @ChargeSolar
    @ChargeSolar6 жыл бұрын

    Peter, The rate at which batteries are discharged (discharge rate) effects the amount of energy they can provide. This means that a high load (current draw) would result in less energy being pulled from the battery compared to a smaller load. The C ratings reflect the amount of energy the batteries are able to provide based on discharge rates. For Example Surrette’s R12-100AGM battery which is a 12V, AGM battery, is capable of supplying 110Ah when discharged slowly(C100), but only 86Ah when discharged more quickly (C10). As for your questions about your system, given that you have 16 x 100Ahr batteries (I assume 12V batteries) wired into a 24V inverter, your system has 8 parallel strings of AGM batteries which you are discharging to 50% DOD nightly. There are a couple of things about this which cause concern. 1) Depth of Discharge - Given that you are cycling them frequently and heavily (nightly to 50% DOD) the life expectancy of the batteries could be drastically reduced. 2) Parallel Strings - Steve from Surrette frequently tells us that the best number of parallel strings is 1, and recommends not more than 3 parallel strings. This is because multiple parallel connections will often create uneven resistance between strings, causing an imbalance of charging and discharge currents, resulting in possible cell damage of premature failure. Instead of adding additional parallel strings to your system, we recommend that you consider using fewer batteries each with greater capacity. Perhaps Surrette’s S2-1275AGM batteries would be worth consideration. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact HES PV and we can put you in touch with one of our dealers/installers to help properly size your system. Thanks, Daniel Partridge, EIT

    Questions........... Ok I want to run a 12 volt system. I have 2 LG 305 watt Panels total 610 watts max. The panels are 10 amps each. I know your rolls S6-460AGM Battery is 415 amp hours each. 2 Questions........ 1. Will I have to have 4 rolls S6-460AGM Batteries. in order to get the benefit of the AH on your batteries? I would like to run the batteries in Parallel. 2. As stated above will the 2 LG 305 watt Panels total 610 watts going into the battery bank. Will the solar panels charge your batteries sufficiently? Example of my calculation: 10 x (Battery Capacity in Amp Hours) (Load power in Watts) = Run time in hours ------------------------------------------------------------ Using 4 S6-460AGM Batteries ---------------------------------------- 4 S6-460AGM Batteries @ 415AH each = 1660AH X10 = 16600AH Window A/C Unit = 500 watts 16600 / 500 = 32 run time devide by 2 @ 50% battery life = 16 hours of run time. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just want to make sure that the solar panels will be able to charge the 4 S6-460AGM Batteries so there will be no damage to the batteries. Thanks.
