Sick of this! Overloading ships for profit, no one knows what's in those containers. They float for weeks just sub surface until they release nough air to sink. 10-20 thousand a year I have heard! Shocking.

It’s more of a big picture logistical move. Many environmental restrictions due to turtle nests, reefs, sand hill vegetation. If it was for real bombs and D9’s etc would have cut the Sandhills. The live fire and simulated high tech battles are off the beach. 🦘

@@saxonost7 If the SAS and Special forces units did their job correctly they will have secured the beach... If the intelligent services did their job correctly and give out misinformation saying they will land elsewhere you would hope there is little resistance. During these types of exercises, there is usually an enemy force made up of various units, from usually the country that is holding the exercise... Sometimes they may say to the ally unit you are the enemy force... Go cause some havoc to the main force... and you have freedom of the range etc... Other times they stick to a script... depending what the exercise is for... and what they are trying to achieve and train for... Gone are the days that two giant armies face each other directly, it is usually militant groups, and they wouldn't have the firepower to oppose a forced landing so they can cause more havoc inland on supply lines... Finally, it does depend on what the specs of the exercise are based on... has the made-up "country orange" asked for help because of unrest, or is it going into made-up "country orange" to overthrow a dictatorship that is cause human suffering etc...

Night hawk It’s not the role of SASR to secure a position and await the arrival of the battalions. It’s the role of the SASR and Navy CDTs to reconnoiter and remove tactically significant opposition and area denial defences to the main force landing in a seaborne assault scenario.
