Did you stay here? How was the hotel, I'm looking to stay?
@JustBirnieAdventures2 ай бұрын
We loved it here, great value for money, very relaxing, amazing views, the restaurant you can op for all inclusive which we did because there is else nothing around and we didn’t want to explore the point was to enjoy Kalypso. The only thing some of the higher rooms didn’t have good Wi-Fi and I needed it for work so moved to a lower room, it was such a shame because the higher room had an amazing balcony and view however that was a few years ago so maybe it is all fixed now. We enjoyed the pool and swimming off the rocks, the food breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellent with lots of choices. When we were there we didn’t go to the bar in the evenings but it always seemed pretty quiet when we walked past at night, so if you are looking for lively nightlife then this isn’t for you but again maybe it has changed now. The hotel also offer some good day trips, a taxi is easy to arrange to take you to Plakias or nearby, you can hire a car and self explore or walk, some brilliant walks straight from the hotel. I do have a website if you would like to take a look it has a map with all my videos and lots around that area cretalife.com/ Hope this helps and here if you need to know anything else. have a great holiday wherever you decide to go! 🌞

Thank you for your lovely message. You have lots in and around Heraklion, the most famous being Knossos Palace - maps.app.goo.gl/ArkVtUr19o6VmbxU6?g_st=ic As far as boat trips I am sure the hotel will have excursion options but I am not so sure on where and what they will offer. From Heraklion port I believe you can organise boat trips and there is an island you can see called Dia which again I believe you can organize trips too. We were here too early in the season and nothing was properly open but I am sure there will be excursion shops offering different day trips or you can hire a car and drive along the coast in either direction. Hope this helps and let know if I can anymore. If you wanted too, I have a website and a map with all my videos on it, not so many around Heraklion but I do have places nearby you could check out. cretalife.com/ Have a wonderful holiday 🌞

@JustBirnieAdventures2 ай бұрын
Hello so sorry for my late reply, The villas around the area looked lovely the only thing I would say is the immediate beaches in the area were not my favourite BUT Rethymo has an extremely Long Beach and so many places we loved. Along the coast you can organize water sports for sure and there is a hotel 15min drive from this villas which has water sports and I believe anyone can pay and do. For a car was a must, have us more freedom to explore the coastal line and the roads to walk are not that good, typical Greek with no walking path and cars driving fast. We are daytime people so we were out all day, found lovely places for lunch and then relaxed at the villas round the pool and on the roof top in the evenings and made snacks. I do have a website if you would like to look, it has all of my videos on a map and lots around this area cretalife.com/ I really hope this helps and please let me know if you need to know anything else. The route between Krios and Elafonisi is very nice.
I visited most of those restaurants and cafes on my holidays there
Wieder ein schönes Video von Dir.
Vielen Dank
Lovely apartments. Crete is wonderful whatever the weather! 👍
I couldn’t agree more but it is even better when the sun is out 🤣🌞🤣
Hello! How do you got back to your car? Had you to go back to gorge uphill?
We hitched back up. It was a risk as maybe no one else down there but luckily there was, if not we would have walked back up. Another option is to organize a pick up with the local taverna but that cost 50€
@@JustBirnieAdventures 👍 thanks for your answer! Good luck, wish you great adventures this summer ☀️
Is there evening entertainment ? Also what beaches nearby are good for swimming ?
Did you stay here? How was the hotel, I'm looking to stay?
Hi going here next year , any good historical locations nearby ? And also are boat trips and things like that OK to just book when we're out there , thankyou great video
Thankyou for the tips and advice , it's a long while until I go but cannot wait
Hi there! Great video. We are heading there in a few short weeks :)
Hi there. I really enjoyed your video on Pigianos Kampos. I am considering renting a villa and have 3 "kids" 14, 19 and 20. They are not in to wild night life so I think it would be the ideal place (once I check out that there are watersports!)I am just wondering if you would agree? Thanks so much
Hello so sorry for my late reply, The villas around the area looked lovely the only thing I would say is the immediate beaches in the area were not my favourite BUT Rethymo has an extremely Long Beach and so many places we loved. Have a fabulous holiday wherever you go 🌞
@@JustBirnieAdventures Thanks so much for your helpful reply!
Sorry... So much for a tourist../ mentioning coffe shops... If so, why bother going there!?
It’s a changing time and many tourist places offer refreshments if some kind. I would love to have see so many places without the coffee shops etc but now they are there, I mention them so tourists can support and know they can buy refreshments without bringing their own. I know many people who have visited Phaistos Palace before and now go to enjoy a coffee or something being in the wonderful surroundings of the palace and beautiful views 🥰🌞🥰
