    Bro. This is the first and only review youtube and beyond where mere 6 months of casual use (no intense running) led to this condition. Are you sure these were originals? Even so, I think you got a faulty piece. Just sheer bad luck.

    I just don’t think they are ideal for playing disc golf due to the amount of soft foam on the bottom, disc golf entails a pretty good deal of twisting and running on abrasive surfaces.

    Still wear them though, just lost a lot of the rubber on the bottom.

    Wow, that's pretty beaten up for six months of wearing! I have a few questions and would appreciate if you answered. 1. On what type of terrain did you run and what weather? 2. Since you said your feet didn't overheat in them, what was the temperature outside? 3. What kind of socks do you use material wise? 4. Do you think they might be too warm for hiking on a temperature around 20 C? Thanks! :)

  • @seanmcgowan4652
    @seanmcgowan4652 Жыл бұрын

    Yeah definitely. 1. A mix or terrain, mostly grass, dirt, unfortunately concrete on occasion which is a major contributing factor to the wear of course. 2. I live in Florida so it can get pretty hot and humid. 25 C or so pretty regularly. 3. Just a cotton blend, nothing special. 4. I haven’t found them to be but everyone is different. Definitely feel light and I don’t notice as much as a problem as with comparable goretex shoes.

    Have to agree 100% with you on the boost foam. It's the best cushioning I've had in any shoe. But I have 2 pair of adi-boost golf shoes and the foam gets dirty within about a month or two of walking the course. I find myself wiping them down frequently. I actually found a life hack, if you lightly spray the base of the shoe with wd-40 after each wipe down, the dirt comes off easier without sticking to the foam. Not sure how good is for the foam itself

    I know this is late but I have two pairs of these and all those “holes” you’re having issues with are a common problem, mine are in worse shape than yours all in the same locations. These shoes are great when new, but they don’t last very long especially if you train in them daily like I did. Reebok discontinued these for a reason, I wish they brought them back with better material.

  • @seanmcgowan4652
    @seanmcgowan4652 Жыл бұрын

    Yeah, mine did end up ripping after a while at those holes. I liked the fit, but would not buy the same model again. These in a better material would definitely be something Reebok should explore.

    Hi I wondered what type of climate you are in as I have heard others say they do actually get hot feet? I am just about to purchase a pair but I don’t know whether my feet will get sweaty from 10 mile hikes here in the uk. It’s either these or the normal ones with a nano spray on them? Any advice greatly appreciated 👍

    Yeah, so I’m in Tampa Florida. I have a pair of the gortex and the non gortex as well. IMO the non gortex do feel lighter and have more circulation, however for a gortex shoe i don’t think they trap heat to a great extent. They both work great, but if I know there’s going to be wet conditions I always go for the gortex.

    So having boost that is white can definitely kind of sucks because it gets dirty so fast but you can also use the same dyes you would use on disc golf dying like rit, prochem, and even idye poly to make the boost whatever color you want.

    From my experience with these shoes hiking, it’s pretty water repellent. Although I’ve never really dared to step in water deeper than up to the ankle for short periods of time, I’ve never really had problems with wet socks. The water tends to bead off pretty well. However, if you’re talking about having your foot submerged a good length of time, I’ve never personally tested it but I’m not 100% confident your socks would stay completely dry. Maybe only up to right below the laces, I’m 100% confident in. Deep puddles up to the top of the toes have never been a problem. Hope this helps!

  • @davidcallan7844
    @davidcallan78442 жыл бұрын

    You’re better off going with the Terrex Agravic line or the Terrex Speed Ultra. These are decent light hikers or “urban hikers”. Go for a pair of Saucony Peregrines or if you want something a bit more aggressive the Salomon Speedcross 5 or Salomon Wildcross. These come in at approx 14oz for a men’s US size 9 that’s a lot of weight for a trail runner. But for pure aesthetics these are a cool shoe. If you want something similar but lighter I’d recommend the Nike ACG TERRA ZAHERRA, about 3oz lighter per foot , cool tech and can still pick it up even though discontinued, Free Hikers are going crazy on the resale market now. Just my two cents. Good luck.🤘🏃‍♂️😎

    I live in Florida so it can get pretty hot. I've never personally had a problem with the gore-tex containing heat to the extent that it bothers me really. I do also have a pair of the non-gore-tex free hikers and although they do have slightly more noticeable air circulation it's really not a major difference.

    I love this shoe. It's expensive, but hiker shoes are almost always on the heavier side, yet these are super comfy. I take care in them, so I'm not concerned about wear. The goretex certainly has its flaws, but it's about 50% effective if you're moving opposed to standing relatively still. They really need to produce more with the blacked-out boost, because like you say, it looks awful if you don't clean it for a while.
