Migrant means that you are leaving your country and taking up residence in another country. Expats, is a person who is on contract to work in another country, but has a passport of the home country. I was an expat not an immigrant. I am a canadian that had a contract for my company to work in germany. I was not a citizen of Germany. I attained residency so i could pay taxes. But i receive nothing from German. So this debater is a complete idiot and know nothing of what she talking about, and she says only to get validation. This particular piece is difficult to follow unless you know about Danish and how Norwegians and Swedes feel about the way they talk. The three Scandinavian languages (Swedish, Norwegian and Danish) are very similar and come from the same root. Norwegians and Swedes can pretty easily have conversations and understand each other. Spoken Danish on the other hand is almost completely unintelligible to Swedes and Norwegians. The written language is very similar to Swedish and Norwegian but the way they speak is very difficult to understand. The running joke among Scandinavians is that it sounds like Danish people speak with a potato in their mouths.
