I looked at images of the twin towers recently, and there are tons. It’s almost creepy when I can recognize the ones from 9/11 before the planes hit without checking the date. That blue sky is just ingrained on me viscerally. When I look back on it I just fear God. People can invent conspiracy theories all day. But that blue sky was under no one’s control. It makes me appreciate that terrible things can happen to you, and it’s still part of some higher plan. And the guy who wins the day might still be the godforsaken one. And the ones who die terrible deaths might never leave God’s palm the whole way down. I just marvel. God bless everyone who suffered that day or suffers now.

I was 29 with my two oldest at preschool and my one year old nursing, thankfully, facing away from the TV because I could not take my eyes off. It took probably maybe not that long, but it felt like it took at least like an hour to get through my brother who had just moved back to New York and into Manhattan like two weeks before. Also, I hardly ever fly and had been on a flight with my one year-old to see friends I had met online when we were all pregnant and due the same month to celebrate their first birthdays. We met on an AOL bulletin board. I felt so bad because I knew you shouldn’t keep it on with children around but I let her I miss her self with her baby books and toys as I went back-and-forth on if I should go get my kids from preschool even though we were like 45 to an hour away at that point. I lived in Manhattan from 19 to 22 end, it was the best. The people were always fine for the most part, but little did I know really fully understand the good in people and the heroes all around us. Just due to prices we had moved to my husband’s home state of New Jersey. Of course, I am pretty useless being not the healthiest since birth long story short and no idea what I could’ve done but I would’ve liked to at least have been There handing out water bottles or doing something useful. I felt so useless and just horrified as my brother - who I had finally gotten on the phone (I think he only had a cell phone at that point if I remember correctly but I think the landlines were just jammed up too) and after I was very relieved, he didn’t have a breakfast meeting at windows on the world we talked while watching the news and we’re on the phone while each of the two buildings went down. The conversation probably went something like this since I don’t remember verbatim “ OMG I can’t believe this OMGOMGOMG” I couldn’t stop crying. Still really can’t whenever it comes up.

For some reason, I thought I was replying to another comment about how old and where they were. Anyway, I left out the part. I was 29 and it was before my youngest was even born a year or so later. Actually 13 months later. None of us who are old enough to remember could ever forget.

Everyone telling their stories of where they were at the time of this tragic event so I guess I’ll tell you mine. I was 20 years old living on other side of country when I saw this and all I remember was watching it on tv and then went on with my day. But two years ago I stumbled upon a KZread video of a fire truck going to the wtc to rescue and I’ll tell you I never saw everything that happened and obviously didn’t know that there were real videos on it and I watched everything there was on KZread for about two weeks just feeling so sad and couldn’t believe the damage and how many lives were lost. Could not imagine at all. But now looking back why the fuck would they build buildings that fucking tall and why didn’t the airports have security then? And can only imagine the people that was stuck falling in the collapse being crushed burned and ripped apart. Smh. Fuck that. Won’t ever go in a building that tall.

At the time no one knew the footages by who filmed them, and everyone was just concerned by the events themselves. Even when people tell me I’m watching previously unseen footage I just experience the sense that I’m watching one holistic disaster unfold. But I feel like since people used to not take photos all the time for free that the news agencies would have paid big bucks for this, and since these men were doing this for a living they’d have sold the footage earlier. Just a guess.

Everyone of the American people should ask himself ONE big question and try to answer it with the utmost honesty, clarity, and with the greatest possible frankness, impartiality, and objectivity: What is the real reason that pushed (and continues to push) and motivates (and continues to motivate) groups or even individuals from The Middle East countries to carry out a massive operation like September 11 against the United States EXCLUSIVELY? What drives those individuals to carry out such operations, which they know very well that it will cost them their lives, and that, considering worldly profit and loss, they will not see the results of those operations nor even be able to enjoy the outcomes of them? What drives these young men, who are in their twenties, thirties, and sometimes forties, to throw themselves into certain death, from which there is no escape, just in order to attack America with this type of operations and attacks? Why do they attack America specifically and not other countries? Why? Why only America and nothing else? Asking this question and searching for the accurate and honest answer to it is something that must be done. THIS IS A MUST. ignore what the idiots Bush and Blair said and mentioned in the first week of events. Those two murders did not mention the real reason and the truth. Instead they tried to justify the upcoming wars at that time.

I remember watching this on tv i believe. That sound of the documentary video footage does so much justice to the terror that was caused that day. Its one thing to just see it but to hear what they heard close up... Wow.

I was 13 years old when this happened I remember it so well and every year it hits me so hard and I boohoo cry like it just happened. I remember the fear waiting and praying for my dad to come home. It felt like forever but thank God he made it home. My heart breaks every time I think about the friends and people who’s loved ones never made it home.

how ironic, a documentary about a writer and videographer making a documentary about a rookie fireman getting caught documenting a terrorist attack , excellent work, thank you it is very enjoyable, sad yes but entertaining , moving, heart wrenching , a wonderful way to spend 2 hours of your day or evening on anniversary days, i had never seen this until today.
