Great interview, thanks!!
What a great interview i learned so much, seeing the joy on JHS's face in the Pretenders videos made me want to play guitar. Peace to you Jimmy.
Thank you for posting these.
Thank you for this wonderful interview
Put the strings in the MICROWAVE?? Lol ok Ed
Wow! I remember reading this interview as a teenager. It was so exciting getting an insight from Angus.
“How would I like to be remembered? Fondly.” ~Tom Petty
I don’t see the mike Campbell interview. Hope that’s coming. Also if there’s any other Tom, Mike, heartbreakers stuff that would be great as well. Thanks
Hey Jas, great interview with Tom! I looked for your interview with Mike…hope you put that out here soon!
Thanks for sharing this. Tom inspires me beyond guitar playing but great to hear the nerd stuff we all search for.
Funny how a mainly guitar man and interviewer for guitar player had Charlie give one of the best drum Interviews ever! RIP Mr Watts. Thanks Jas!
I remember this interview.
Perpetual Burn alone is a monumental achievement, we are lucky to have it and in such good recording quality
A true classic.
RIP DAD 💔
Great interview. Fantastic musician. 👍
55:02 well yes … They lit up a joint
Finally DJ speaks for himself lol
As always, thanks for sharing these, Jas, much appreciated
Appreciated this interview. Thank you 🇺🇸😊
I didn't want the STANDARD rock star Les Paul and Marshall amp...There was absolutely nothing Standard about Eddie Van Halen...
The man was a genius on guitar and I miss him so much and the way he speaks is so natural and that’s what I love Rip Malcolm 👍
Chuck is such an obvious class act, humble, no nonsense guy to be in the biggest touring act on the planet. And this is 30 years ago. He answers all questions well, and casts no shade.
Holly Springs Legend 🙌🏾
What a phenomenal interview Jas. Let Barney go and it sure paid off for us listeners/ players. Thanks for publishing this wonderful time capsule
PW is my favourite Rush album. It was when I really got up & payed attention to Rush. The soundtrack of my life!
Interesting to hear he used a Rockman to work out the musical ideas for this album. 7:06
I own an SRV Strat. I purchased my first guitar because of Stevie. To hear him talk of such things…. Thank you for sharing this. I only wish I could add a pic of my SRV.
dumb question but what sorts of books are they referring to “going through”? Some kind of practice books?
Chopping up a line of coke at 9:22
Interesting to listen that he had a few hand problems and couldn't play us much as he would like to. And it was before the car accident. I suppose it's something that happens even to the guitar gods once in a while. Great interview!
Interesting to notice the broken telephone which happened there: the guitar's a 'Hallfredh' (IIRC), but Brian mis-spelt it 'Hailfred' and then the magazine printed it 'Hairfred'. It wasn't anybody's fault, of course, but then we spent years and years tracking that make down. UwU.
Didn't Eddie learn from Terry Kilgore?
The greats always seem to say the same thing, be a great Drummer, not a rock drummer but a great drummer. Charlie always played to the song, he could have played in a way that might have been more to the tastes of what he gravitated towards but it mught not have been a great style for the stones... What an overlooked genius player. Fantastic interview!!! Still hard to believe he's gone.
27:40. It’s crazy hearing him do that unplugged. If he was plugged in, those bends would be taking the paint off the wall
what a great interview. i saw the Voo Doo Lounge tour and, just last week, the Hackney Diamonds tour in Denver 6-20-24. Chuck was on keyboards both times--and all the tours in between. His work is one of a kind. In 1994 Chuck was the de facto music director for the band. In 2024 with the Stones he carries the title of keyboadist and musical director. Thank you so much for posting this.
I interviewed chuck during this period as well. He’s a lovely fellow.
So much for the Rolling Stones being called by some as the best Rock Band ? They did not even have a keyboardist in their line up !
STFU.. Ian Stewart was their pianist since the beginning, and toured with them up until his death,.Nicky Hopkins also did quite a few tours with the stones!
🤘 awesome 🤘
Should have asked him about his playing with ollie brown 75-77,but great interview regardless
Thanks for sharing Jas! 🙏🏾❤️✌🏾
Thank you, Jas, I look forward to these and always enjoy them
Chuck is incredible. What a wonderful human being…
Jas your body of work is so vast - these are my musical heroes and I appreciate you putting these historic interviews out there
Thanks, Joe. I appreciate this.
It's really cool to hear that Where were you turned into Hang 'em high.
Everyone was dumbfounded when this album came out.
Thank you ❤
I miss Eddie , like I would miss one of my friends or family members when they passed! 🙏
Maybe the best Jagger interview I've heard.
Pops Staples, hell yeah
What kind of amp does he say @ 23:02 and 23:12?
