Bought my first BMW in September 1990, and I have had at least one ever since. Got my 2007 Z4 3.0si coupe in 2015. It's not my daily driver (2014 428 xi). My Z4 only gets wet when I wash it, so the window pit not an issue. Agree with the cheap feel of some interior panels, the cup holders are useless IMO. My climate knobs are not quite as loose as yours - maybe yours were abused by a previous owner? I'm OK with the trunk release. I have that same dash trim and it's cracking in several places. Ride quality does depend on the roads, although I keep putting run-flats on the car - I'd like to see more abt non-RFT's. Steering feel - same - car is "swimmy" on the interstate at cruising speeds. I've seen on the Z4 forum that it's a simple adjustment - gonna see if my mechanic is familiar. Rear-view - eventually you adjust it so that you can see pretty far behind you on the highway and just compromise at close range. Side mirrors - I don't like that "tip-down" feature and have it disabled on my 428. My driver's side, however, fogged up (which is common) and I have the replacement in hand - yet to install. Exhaust cut out was just a design feature of BMW's at that time similar to the kinked "C" pillar - it was across the entire line. I'm OK with the halo, I actually end up running with parking lights on pretty frequently because the instrument cluster is so far back in that binnacle that it's in shadow and can't be read. Side reflectors - blame the US govt. for that. The long hood is what makes the design of the car, but it does make it hard to drive as you said, and also you can't judge how wide it is at the front wheels. Another item I'd point out, and it's common to coupes in general, is the length of the doors. You have to look for extra wide parking spaces or park far away from other cars, and when you get back you may still find that someone has parked too close for you to be able to get in to your car. A particular problem for me as I'm 6'5" and need to open the door fully in order to be able to get in the car. My 428 has the same issue.

I've owned the car since 58k miles to 95k miles now and I've had 0 transmission issues. My only issues relate to well know oil leaks like the valve cover gasket, oil filter gasket, and my oil pan gasket is going, and replacing a wear and tear item of the front control arm bushing. I'm still waiting for water pump/thermostat to fail and ignition coils, but they are still going strong. It may sound like a lot but it's a older car now. This engine is probably one of the most reliable BMW has. Hi, Drew. Unrelated to this video, but a comment on one previous. Any details on removing the "lens" that covers the bulb in the Rear Center Storage Console. My bulb is burnt out, and I'm not showing a separate part number for the lens. My luck....will break the tabs on the lens when replacing the bulb and will need to buy a much more expensive part. In my experience the housing has come out similar to the foot well or roaster trunk light. You can practice on those or reference the video I linked. I would just try to get a flathead to pull down on the lip on each side to see which will come down. On my 2004 the emblem was only glued. The posts are not threaded and there were no nuts.

Do you think that someone replaced the original with that and just glued it? The posts will not be threaded. The nuts will cut into the posts to thread them. Check my other comment for the parts.

e en though its fading it doesnt mean there isnt protection. So thats what you need to do is test to see id the coating is still there. So not a reliable test

FYI for anyone having trouble: The two metal tabs on my Z4 were pushed so far up that there was absolutely no way a screwdriver could ever grab them and pull them down, let alone even touch them. After some trial and error I ended up using a lock picking tool that has a hook in it. I then maneuvered the hook up inside the plastic square where the metal clip should've been and then worked the hook around that metal clip to pull it down.

As for parts, I left them in the comments and description. As for tips, this is all I have. Most likely just have to pull it straight out with all the risks associated with that. And replace the retaining clips with the ones I listed since those seem to pull out easier.

Just need to measure the height on all 4 corners before you do any adjusting,, as we did in the collision repair industry,,, we always just the headlights after a collision...repair..

Thanks for making this, I drive a lot at night and definitely have the same problem with the headlights pointing too far down. I took it to my mechanic and they swapped both bulbs but still point downward. I wasn't aware I could adjust the bulbs by twisting something. Would it be possible if you showed a quick video of what you adjusted? thanks!

To me, the Meguirs on the back looked good that many weeks without touch up. I would have also down two coatings the first day to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Thanks for taking the time to do this!

Hi, Drew. Unrelated to this video, but a comment on one previous. Any details on removing the "lens" that covers the bulb in the Rear Center Storage Console. My bulb is burnt out, and I'm not showing a separate part number for the lens. My luck....will break the tabs on the lens when replacing the bulb and will need to buy a much more expensive part. Any insight would be delightful. Thanks, Ted.
In my experience the housing has come out similar to the foot well or roaster trunk light. You can practice on those or reference the video I linked. I would just try to get a flathead to pull down on the lip on each side to see which will come down. Any recommendations on what kind of adhesive to use?
On my 2004 the emblem was only glued. The posts are not threaded and there were no nuts.
Do you think that someone replaced the original with that and just glued it? The posts will not be threaded. The nuts will cut into the posts to thread them. Check my other comment for the parts.

Both xenon and halogen headlights use the same enclosure. Adjustment screws are in same locations

I don't disagree with you that there could still be protection there but I buy this stuff to dress up my tire, not really to protect.

FYI for anyone having trouble: The two metal tabs on my Z4 were pushed so far up that there was absolutely no way a screwdriver could ever grab them and pull them down, let alone even touch them. After some trial and error I ended up using a lock picking tool that has a hook in it. I then maneuvered the hook up inside the plastic square where the metal clip should've been and then worked the hook around that metal clip to pull it down.

As for parts, I left them in the comments and description. As for tips, this is all I have. Most likely just have to pull it straight out with all the risks associated with that. And replace the retaining clips with the ones I listed since those seem to pull out easier.

Just need to measure the height on all 4 corners before you do any adjusting,, as we did in the collision repair industry,,, we always just the headlights after a collision...repair..

Thanks for making this, I drive a lot at night and definitely have the same problem with the headlights pointing too far down. I took it to my mechanic and they swapped both bulbs but still point downward. I wasn't aware I could adjust the bulbs by twisting something. Would it be possible if you showed a quick video of what you adjusted? thanks!
