For sure. There's times when I'm playing M21 and I'm absolutely loving the gameplay. There are times when the tackle animations happen a touch too quickly but honestly, if you're not looking for it, you barely notice it.

That's a fair question. I think it's because the gameplay is pretty bad out of the box unless you alter the settings. But most users just boot up the game and select a difficulty and then play. Switching the gameplay speed from normal to very slow instantly transforms Madden 19 alone. I recommend zero for the absolute smoothest gameplay. But for some that might be too slow. I do offer a few variations threshold-wise on another video.

I've personally never played Madden 16. I came back to Madden on 17 but I think 18 is a solid choice too. I wish the servers were up for these older maddens. There's still a good following for each Madden from Madden 25 and beyond.

Tbh the most realistic sport simulator i've ever played is MLB the show! Honestly i started liking baseball after i played a few games, honestly the game is so realistic that you can rewatch every play and just analyzing everything about it, the tons of momentum based animations, every player actually has logic and a blueprint what they gonna do before every actions they made etc, i think i have a few yt short video but i can recommend RyanModdy instead, watch a few video of him and you gonna download instantly, i think its free on gamepass tho

I'm experimenting with M07 and adjusting the emulation speed to make it a smoother looking game. 85% makes the gameplay pretty smooth on coach mode. I'm anxious to see how HC plays with those settings.

You are spot on about M19. I had never played 19 until I watched your videos. I got a copy and have been using the settings that you recommend. It is some of the most realistic, and smooth gameplay I have experienced with a Madden game. And graphically it looks good too. I'm definitely enjoying it more than the newer Maddens.

I'm glad you're enjoying it! I actually noticed the game by accident watching a random video years ago. I saw the gameplay and thought "if I could slow that down, we might have something" 🤣 I know some people have to use 8 because it's too slow, but I prefer 0 because of how smooth it looks. Very Slow should have been the default settings and people would have loved it I bet.

@@michaelhopson6342 Competitive is actually slightly harder than simulation, which may be a good thing. But I also like Comp because the random, scripted events are less on there. I was running All Madden/Comp last time I played it. It was a nice experience!

M19 out of the box is pretty bad, BUT with these settings, you can turn it into a solid experience! I use Very Slow/0 All-Madden/Competitive These 4 settings completely transform the gameplay! The servers are off unfortunately so any rosters I make would have to be copied to another profile using a trick only available on Xbox.

Watching both, I would say M21 looks more realistic and has smoother animations. But M19 definitely holds up well against next gen. And some animations on 19 do look better.

Both 19 and 21 are good choices. If a person doesn't own a next gen console, 19 is a good choice. The ONLY problem I really have with 21 is some of the tackle/sack animations look "soft" and they happen a touch fast sometimes. It's really a hard choice TBH.

Madden 19 wasnt it. Madden 18 was the closest to the best EA has made. Wish theyd go back to physics based animations and build on it with all this new tech available now. Either that, or take2interractive need to start using that euphoria engine in their sports games they purchased a while back and bid for an NFL exclusive license.

@SimFootballFanatic nah, watching Madden 19 tackle animations unrealisrically morph and clip into other player tackle animations creating unrealistic player momentum when running the ball, made delete the game 2 hours after buying it lol biggest waste of money. Shoulder pads that made players look like they were from Warhammer 3000 lol No Madden game has come close to the Madden 18 physics since and fun imo.

So clipping and morphing exist on every Madden. I can play M24 NG right now and clip 10 plays in 10 minutes where my HB is running in direction, makes a cut in the opposite direction, and because of the angle of the defender, his momentum is turned 180° in the opposite direction. And that issue is completely separate from the animation speeds being unrealistically fast. Plus, the pinball effect is ridiculous. The sudden change of direction from the different animations is horrible. But getting back to 18, I don't mind the game but I've since shifted from ordering my games in a 1,2,3,4 fashion into a "If you prefer these mechanics, try this game" I've stopped being so bullish but understand people have preferences.

M21 definitely has pros as far as ball carrier movement and fluidity but as you see when you get tackled or multiple defenders get involved, you sorta turn into a pinball and the forward momentum can suddenly change. I honestly wouldn't mind it if I could slow down the animation speed but only M19 lets you do that. M07 for the 360 was one I kinda liked to play. But 07 for the PS2 was goated. If I had a PC that was powerful enough, I'd be playing APF 2K8 still lol But I can't record content unfortunately and my 360 is so old lol But I appreciate your feedback and checking out the content!!!!

It's Madden 21 next Gen! I played old gen a long time ago and didn't like it. Running with the ball, independent of animations is nice! It's the best ball carrier movement that I've played but the tackling is soft, there's a slight pinball affect on gang tackles, and the animations happen just a touch too fast. But overall, I rank M21 #2 currently in my favorites!

@@RobertCDAmario me too, they all have good size. A little bulky but if you think the shoulders are too high, sometimes increasing chest size will lower the shoulders. I know it sounds counterintuitive but for some positions it works. The skill positions can be tweaked by lowering chest size and it will lower the shoulder size, but for the lineman, you actually have to increase the chest size so that the shoulders can drop to a natural position lol

I’ve been trying each madden since madden 25 for 1 week at a time without touching others, I’m currently on madden 23 so far, this is how I feel for anyone who is having trouble finding the most realistic Madden and is burnt out of the Madden 24. Madden 25: too rag dollish, lacks majority of the franchise features we are accustomed to, great for its time, but outdated Madden 16: best AI (the most fun). Opposing qbs actually play true to style. Brady dissects my defense pre snap and makes quick reads and I have to run contain against kaepernick, 2nd day in I gave up 150 yards rushing, never seen a qb run so much in madden in awhile. Madden 17: overall the best, perfect mix and had all the added franchise features, defense took a step forward and WR DB play is years ahead. Madden 18: graphically the best Madden 19: very smooth, but no gang tackles or physics. Gameplay for user and AI is predictable since it relies so heavily on animations. Beginning of the DB warping and pass knockouts. Madden 20: leans more to arcade than sim. Very fast paced with no option to slow the game down at all. (The worst week for me as I only like sim style Madden) turning off abilities made it more bearable but ratings don’t mean much in this one. Madden 21 (Next gen): heavy animation based, AI very predictable, most realistic movement ball carrier movement and foot planting. Madden 22 (next gen): underwhelming, feels like 21 with worse defense, escape artist and other abilities ruin the sim style.

Your conclusions on these Maddens look exactly like what I've been saying on the channel 😂 But that goes to show we as users are not blind to the product EA sells us. M25 was my go-to for a year or so but the franchise being 🗑️ really pushed me away from it because that mode is the only thing that makes Madden replayable in my opinion. I never played 16 but I hear rocket catching, or maybe it was swerving, started in that one 🤔 I do own 17 and 18 and I think 18 is visually, from a ball carrier movement, graphics, and animation standpoint is prettier to look at. The limp ragdoll physics are kinda ugly at times. I'm not sure why that was the design choice. 19 is smooth, definitely. It still has its ugly moments of course. Can't hide the old code and animations unfortunately. But you're right, this is where the two man animations started. I saw the same interception yesterday I saw on my M21 1999 franchise 😂 I skipped 20-23, had a cup of coffee with 21 old gen, then went back to my others. I recently got 21 NG and realized it's not half bad! Same as you, I disabled abilities for more realistic plays. Competitive has been a plus, removing most of the scripted plays that we all hate. But if I could slow down the animations like on the others, it'd be a solid 7/8. The pinball exists (less than 24) and the animations are a touch fast for my taste. Not to mention I'm ALWAYS sucked into animations when running near or through the OL. 24 is just bad all around. The player models look like Play-Doh, they run like chubby toddlers, the pinball effect would give even the viewer CTE, and the animations happen too quickly.

16 gameplay and commentary is fresh. I think it’s a must try to see how every QB plays true to style. Franchise is just outdated like Madden 25 sadly. gameplay wise on slow game speed it is a masterpiece, aggressive catching is definitely over the top and sometimes just stupid but that’s what makes it fun, 17 toned it down and I’m just a huge fan of the ignite engine because to this day I still see new things, I also play majority OC and it’s well known that 17 and 18 has the most realistic super sim, haven’t tested 19 enough to know, I had a big issue with 21 next gen OC because the games would be too high scoring, every game I’d have to score relentlessly to win (which was easy to do because of predictable AI). 22 and 23 has been having that same problem as well. Once you find the routes and plays they work because all madden defense on next gen calls the same plays to counter you. What are your cons for Madden 18 and especially 17? I’ve been itching to play 17 franchise again, maybe you can point out some things I don’t look out for

It's been so long since I've played 17 that I really don't remember that much about it other than I thought it was inferior to 18 so I uninstalled it. 18 only looks good if you play on VS/100 or S/0 but at times it looks clunky because of the ragdoll, even more clunky than M25, which is saying a lot. Lol. 18 franchise is great tbh. Scouting is easy, but older maddens made me feel like it was a chore to scout and so I didn't do it. You can also upgrade player ratings individually if that's your style. I've kinda grown fond of the archetypes upgrades myself, especially when you get the random +1 speed or strength. It's the best feeling lol OC mode on 18 is so nice EXCEPT for the fact I can't get the QB to scramble. I've tried player locking on the HB, the QB, nothing makes him scramble. But other than that, OC mode is great. Just don't forget the coaching adjustments! They're OP lol

Of the ones you listed, M16 is my hands-down favorite. Though it lacks a lot with regards to things like Franchise features and player equipment, the gameplay that year was the most balanced, polished, and realistic in the history of the series. My honorable mentions would probably go to M25 and M21. M17 was fun when it was current and added a lot to Franchise, presentation, and equipment, but gameplay took a noticeable step backwards from M16. CPU QB play, in particular, regressed quite a bit.

M21 Next Gen is slowly growing on me. I turned the threshold down to 0 and it really helped smooth out the animations and it honestly looks better than M24 if you play them right after each other. Even the ball carrier running animation looks better lol

My updated settings are Very Slow Game Speed 0 Threshold All-Madden Difficulty Competitive Style Sometimes I'll try 8 threshold for slightly faster gameplay, but 0 provides the smoothest experience on the animation side of things. Simulation used to be my go to but there are a bunch of scripted events so competitive lowers that "randomness"

@@michaelhopson6342 Competitive is actually slightly harder than simulation, which may be a good thing. But I also like Comp because the random, scripted events are less on there. I was running All Madden/Comp last time I played it. It was a nice experience!

M19 out of the box is pretty bad, BUT with these settings, you can turn it into a solid experience! I use Very Slow/0 All-Madden/Competitive These 4 settings completely transform the gameplay! The servers are off unfortunately so any rosters I make would have to be copied to another profile using a trick only available on Xbox.
Watching both, I would say M21 looks more realistic and has smoother animations. But M19 definitely holds up well against next gen. And some animations on 19 do look better.
Both 19 and 21 are good choices. If a person doesn't own a next gen console, 19 is a good choice. The ONLY problem I really have with 21 is some of the tackle/sack animations look "soft" and they happen a touch fast sometimes. It's really a hard choice TBH.

Madden 19 wasnt it. Madden 18 was the closest to the best EA has made. Wish theyd go back to physics based animations and build on it with all this new tech available now. Either that, or take2interractive need to start using that euphoria engine in their sports games they purchased a while back and bid for an NFL exclusive license.
18 without the limp ragdoll physics would have been perfect but it kinda wears on you after a while. It reminds me of toddlers playing and falling down lol
@SimFootballFanatic nah, watching Madden 19 tackle animations unrealisrically morph and clip into other player tackle animations creating unrealistic player momentum when running the ball, made delete the game 2 hours after buying it lol biggest waste of money. Shoulder pads that made players look like they were from Warhammer 3000 lol No Madden game has come close to the Madden 18 physics since and fun imo.
So clipping and morphing exist on every Madden. I can play M24 NG right now and clip 10 plays in 10 minutes where my HB is running in direction, makes a cut in the opposite direction, and because of the angle of the defender, his momentum is turned 180° in the opposite direction. And that issue is completely separate from the animation speeds being unrealistically fast. Plus, the pinball effect is ridiculous. The sudden change of direction from the different animations is horrible. But getting back to 18, I don't mind the game but I've since shifted from ordering my games in a 1,2,3,4 fashion into a "If you prefer these mechanics, try this game" I've stopped being so bullish but understand people have preferences.
I think Madden18 and madden25 look better but I like madden 18

M21 definitely has pros as far as ball carrier movement and fluidity but as you see when you get tackled or multiple defenders get involved, you sorta turn into a pinball and the forward momentum can suddenly change. I honestly wouldn't mind it if I could slow down the animation speed but only M19 lets you do that. M07 for the 360 was one I kinda liked to play. But 07 for the PS2 was goated. If I had a PC that was powerful enough, I'd be playing APF 2K8 still lol But I can't record content unfortunately and my 360 is so old lol But I appreciate your feedback and checking out the content!!!!
1st is that madden 21 next generation or current because if it's nextgen imma go with 19 for fairness but if it's not madden 21 run animation we're more smooth tackling was simular
It's Madden 21 next Gen! I played old gen a long time ago and didn't like it. Running with the ball, independent of animations is nice! It's the best ball carrier movement that I've played but the tackling is soft, there's a slight pinball affect on gang tackles, and the animations happen just a touch too fast. But overall, I rank M21 #2 currently in my favorites!
The shoulder pads for 19 drive me crazy😂😂😂 At the risk of being nit picky
I actually have to edit the chest size when I change player weight because it'll give them THE TALLEST shoulders I've ever seen 😂 But your criticism is totally fair! But Clinton Portis did have giant shoulder pads 😂

@@RobertCDAmario me too, they all have good size. A little bulky but if you think the shoulders are too high, sometimes increasing chest size will lower the shoulders. I know it sounds counterintuitive but for some positions it works. The skill positions can be tweaked by lowering chest size and it will lower the shoulder size, but for the lineman, you actually have to increase the chest size so that the shoulders can drop to a natural position lol
I’ve been trying each madden since madden 25 for 1 week at a time without touching others, I’m currently on madden 23 so far, this is how I feel for anyone who is having trouble finding the most realistic Madden and is burnt out of the Madden 24. Madden 25: too rag dollish, lacks majority of the franchise features we are accustomed to, great for its time, but outdated Madden 16: best AI (the most fun). Opposing qbs actually play true to style. Brady dissects my defense pre snap and makes quick reads and I have to run contain against kaepernick, 2nd day in I gave up 150 yards rushing, never seen a qb run so much in madden in awhile. Madden 17: overall the best, perfect mix and had all the added franchise features, defense took a step forward and WR DB play is years ahead. Madden 18: graphically the best Madden 19: very smooth, but no gang tackles or physics. Gameplay for user and AI is predictable since it relies so heavily on animations. Beginning of the DB warping and pass knockouts. Madden 20: leans more to arcade than sim. Very fast paced with no option to slow the game down at all. (The worst week for me as I only like sim style Madden) turning off abilities made it more bearable but ratings don’t mean much in this one. Madden 21 (Next gen): heavy animation based, AI very predictable, most realistic movement ball carrier movement and foot planting. Madden 22 (next gen): underwhelming, feels like 21 with worse defense, escape artist and other abilities ruin the sim style.
Your conclusions on these Maddens look exactly like what I've been saying on the channel 😂 But that goes to show we as users are not blind to the product EA sells us. M25 was my go-to for a year or so but the franchise being 🗑️ really pushed me away from it because that mode is the only thing that makes Madden replayable in my opinion. I never played 16 but I hear rocket catching, or maybe it was swerving, started in that one 🤔 I do own 17 and 18 and I think 18 is visually, from a ball carrier movement, graphics, and animation standpoint is prettier to look at. The limp ragdoll physics are kinda ugly at times. I'm not sure why that was the design choice. 19 is smooth, definitely. It still has its ugly moments of course. Can't hide the old code and animations unfortunately. But you're right, this is where the two man animations started. I saw the same interception yesterday I saw on my M21 1999 franchise 😂 I skipped 20-23, had a cup of coffee with 21 old gen, then went back to my others. I recently got 21 NG and realized it's not half bad! Same as you, I disabled abilities for more realistic plays. Competitive has been a plus, removing most of the scripted plays that we all hate. But if I could slow down the animations like on the others, it'd be a solid 7/8. The pinball exists (less than 24) and the animations are a touch fast for my taste. Not to mention I'm ALWAYS sucked into animations when running near or through the OL. 24 is just bad all around. The player models look like Play-Doh, they run like chubby toddlers, the pinball effect would give even the viewer CTE, and the animations happen too quickly.
16 gameplay and commentary is fresh. I think it’s a must try to see how every QB plays true to style. Franchise is just outdated like Madden 25 sadly. gameplay wise on slow game speed it is a masterpiece, aggressive catching is definitely over the top and sometimes just stupid but that’s what makes it fun, 17 toned it down and I’m just a huge fan of the ignite engine because to this day I still see new things, I also play majority OC and it’s well known that 17 and 18 has the most realistic super sim, haven’t tested 19 enough to know, I had a big issue with 21 next gen OC because the games would be too high scoring, every game I’d have to score relentlessly to win (which was easy to do because of predictable AI). 22 and 23 has been having that same problem as well. Once you find the routes and plays they work because all madden defense on next gen calls the same plays to counter you. What are your cons for Madden 18 and especially 17? I’ve been itching to play 17 franchise again, maybe you can point out some things I don’t look out for
It's been so long since I've played 17 that I really don't remember that much about it other than I thought it was inferior to 18 so I uninstalled it. 18 only looks good if you play on VS/100 or S/0 but at times it looks clunky because of the ragdoll, even more clunky than M25, which is saying a lot. Lol. 18 franchise is great tbh. Scouting is easy, but older maddens made me feel like it was a chore to scout and so I didn't do it. You can also upgrade player ratings individually if that's your style. I've kinda grown fond of the archetypes upgrades myself, especially when you get the random +1 speed or strength. It's the best feeling lol OC mode on 18 is so nice EXCEPT for the fact I can't get the QB to scramble. I've tried player locking on the HB, the QB, nothing makes him scramble. But other than that, OC mode is great. Just don't forget the coaching adjustments! They're OP lol
Of the ones you listed, M16 is my hands-down favorite. Though it lacks a lot with regards to things like Franchise features and player equipment, the gameplay that year was the most balanced, polished, and realistic in the history of the series. My honorable mentions would probably go to M25 and M21. M17 was fun when it was current and added a lot to Franchise, presentation, and equipment, but gameplay took a noticeable step backwards from M16. CPU QB play, in particular, regressed quite a bit.
M21 Next Gen is slowly growing on me. I turned the threshold down to 0 and it really helped smooth out the animations and it honestly looks better than M24 if you play them right after each other. Even the ball carrier running animation looks better lol

I'm basically spending this entire springtime deciding on which Madden I want to use for an update roster when the ratings get released online around August. I'm leaning pretty heavily to Madden 19 but I wanted to post a comparison and get input and feedback from you guys!

Without a doubt. The choreography on the tackles looks better. The big hits are better. That Panthers-Colts highlight i posted days ago was beautiful. I brought a strip attempt only to get blown up lol

My updated settings are Very Slow Game Speed 0 Threshold All-Madden Difficulty Competitive Style Sometimes I'll try 8 threshold for slightly faster gameplay, but 0 provides the smoothest experience on the animation side of things. Simulation used to be my go to but there are a bunch of scripted events so competitive lowers that "randomness"
