WHY NOT DRILL OUT THE SPOT WELD ☝️ THEN WELD IT BACK TOGETHER IT'S WELDED AT THE FACTORY ☝️ WHY DOE'S IT NEED WELDED BACK IN THE EXACT SPOT -AREA
Well that was not helpful at all. Couldn't see a thing you did
where did you get the dolly that is under there now
Because everyone has this much time to do this bs
back in the 70sand 80s we use to just ground the car. by putting a chain around the rear end to the floor. And that was for single stage enamels paint jobs.
Nice!
Thanks! :D
You grinded the spot weld without the tool very small. It would be better if you grind pass the weld to prevent the grooving of under panela
Thank you for your keen observation of the cut lines on the service part as shown in the video. You are correct that in some situations it may require other methods to accurately locate the cut lines on the service part.
If you small jump is inside the vehicle?? 😢 How to do this
PLEASE have Ford add a visual/diagram of an example of sectioning these studs in, for clarification for others that may still question what can and cannot be done.
The episode states that the inner rocker panel can be sectioned virtually anywhere following Ford’s sectioning guidelines, which are spelled out in the service information. Because of this, there is not a specific area for sectioning the running board studs. The sectioning location will depend on the extent of damage to the inner rocker panel. This article from the I-CAR RTS website also discusses this - rts.i-car.com/crn-1995.html
Scott, you look great I didn’t even recognize you!
Hey mister my mustang gt 2017 my blind spot don’t work and sometimes went I put my car in reverse the a/c turns off I replace the 2 monitors but it’still doing the same not working any ideas
Referencing the OEM service information for repairs and system trouble shooting is the preferred method when diagnosing vehicle issues.
Basically no comment
Dirk makes EV safety sexy!
The welds look like a fail
My camera wiggle in bracket, how can i resolve this issue? Calibration failed every time. Do i need to replace whole windshield?
Refer to the vehicle-maker service information for help trouble shooting this issue as there may be solutions other than windshield replacement. If no solution is found, submit a question to the RTS Ask I-CAR team at rts.i-car.com/ask-i-car.html
Wouldn't it be nice if the removal of the panels to access the terminals was as easy as you portray.
What I use is magnets when I cover the with plastic I put the magnet at the bottom of the panel I use 6 of them never have dirt in my paint or clear process
Put socket on nut, put impact on reverse, squeeze trigger 👍.
uh? what exactly was this video for????
Hey I-CAR, thanks for the video on testing high voltage gloves; where can we buy to roll-up tool and air fill tool?
Hi! Thanks for your interest, while we don't recommend particular outlets we acquire our tools from, if you search online for "lineman's glove inspection tool" and "lineman's glove inflator tool", you should be able to find plenty of retailers and suppliers who offer them.
2.08 min in they show a welded finished piece and the two holes are so far off it would be a fail LOL
The weld is a bit flashy with FF's
Perfect! Had my Mach-e for 18 months and 27000 miles. Going on a road trip and just bought an emergency jumper like I keep in my 1999 Lexus. Wondered where you access the 12v.
Can it just be dirty and if so how do you clean it?
So there's no good way. Got it
Is the school all online or in person? It seems hard to find any considering information before I really look into it. Like I don’t want to register and call just to find out basic information.
Hello! I-CAR offers training online and in-person, it just depends on which courses you're looking to take! Here is a look at our course catalog to explore these options: www.i-car.com/s/browse
That guy Ben is hot
Fr bruh
i have to remove /replace my 2016 chrysler 300 C roof , it has to be replaced because of corrosion issues from Chrysler. about 16 rust bubbles all parrelell from the inside bottom of the panel two inches along the Panoramic rear edge glass opening. this is soo upsetting cause my corrosion warranty expired in 2021 and i wouldve never known about this issue until it finally rusted /rotted its way thru the panel completely which takes years
Do you recommend some jump start to buy?
I don't ever want to see a car fall off the lift
You got to heat the aluminum to be able to pull it
And that's ridiculous 30 thousand dollars in cost to repair that Toyota. markup is real, just sad. Where do you draw the line.
Well I did this and still can’t get it open. My purse (with the key), meds, and iPad are inside and I just want to get this out before they tow it to the deal because I have had items stolen out of my car before so I trust no one. Plus I really need this things.
What ended happening to your car? I'm currently in the same situation and I'm getting it towed on Monday. What did the dealership tell you?
Excelent information.
wow my name is Carlos from Lakeland Collision in Lakeland Fl, It is very helpful and I know very well how difficult it is to find all the correct information to carry out a correct repair, our shop has Audatex estimating and All Data, and even so it is very difficult to find all the specifications and systems that each vehicle that we are going to repair, thank you very much for all your hard work, this something great for all the technicians and for this industry.
But if you need to get some one out a burning car they would still be toast by the time you have done all that. Bring back real door handles.
This isn't for that kind of scenario 🤦🏼♂️ If the car is burning and someone's inside knocked out, you break the window and pull the door handle from the inside or pull the person out the window.
How often is someone inside a burning car with a dead battery where you have the key on the outside?
Mr. Grieve's podcast had helped me stay sane after being involved in a hit and run on my lexus in texas. i've learned so much and i'm forever grateful for how he helps everyone with sharing his knowledge.
i didn't know the difference until i watched the youtube videos with robert grieve out of colorado. IT BLEW MY MIND!
thanks for this. i'm a huge fan of Mr. Grieve and his youtube channel.
The real crime is that auto manufacturers don’t do even the simplest steps to protect vehicles from corrosion. On my 9 yr old ram both rocker panels are virtually gone, fenders and tailgate blistering, even the bumper bleeding rust. 9yr old, 97,000 miles on a 60,000 dollar truck! This is a real…….conspiracy by globalist auto industry.
Thanks for keeping it real. All these estimators and adjusters that never worked on cars in there live think it is so easy.
If I only told you the truth
Thank you
What are you looking for in the peel test? I'm wondering how you've assessed that the settings aren't right. The one side failing around the weld?
What is brazing? Just another word for weld ?
Brazing is "welding" without melting the base metal. In the video it was bronze wire on steel but think copper plumbing for which the joints are brazed with tin/lead.
most cars have a recalibration after reset after driving 50 miles, Porsche has shock sensors that have to be calibrated due to bumpy roads
Great information. Thanks a lot.
great stuff, cheers from Florida, Paul
As future generation car cameras and radar can do self calibration. Do the workshop need to invest in calibration equipments?
How long does it take to set up the welder and do the testing and how often does it need to be done
