Hi, welcome to my channel of a random tall guy. In this channel, I’m going to be vlogging my day-to-day life as an auto mechanic, musician, cyclist, and more. I’ll be posting new videos on something completely random about my life with family and friends for you guys to enjoy.

Great work. It's always good to see what someone is getting into when they decide to repair and maintain their vehicles.
Thanks for the Video man! It helped tremendously! The torque specs for the idler pulley is 39 lbs according to the manual.
A whole lot of yapping and no video footage of you putting the shit back together? What the fuck is the point of the video?
It's 48 bucks for two now.
I have a 2007. We were in a serious accident in 2022. The insurance company totaled my car. I refused to let it go even though "Tuffy" had 225,000 miles on her. She had been a fantastic car for well over ten years. The pickup is incredible. So, I had the rear wheel axle replaced so I could drive her. No one - no one - wanted to work on the body - severe damage in the rear bumper. I have finally found someone willing to swap out her bumper. This is how much I loved this car. You can't go wrong with Pontiac Vibe.
Got an 02 with 127000 miles. 50 psi compression in one of my cylinders. Any suggestions?
It could be many things like head gasket leaks, valves not sealing, or worn piston rings. You can add oil into the cylinder through the spark plug hole and retest. If it is still 50 psi then it could be the valves or head gasket.
Can you pleeeeease do a video in more detail on the wiring part for the daytime running
I bought one for 800usd with 320 000km and I’m in love with it
Was it a bad reverse band?
Yes exactly 👍
Cheap part but complete transmission tear down. Might be fun to try. 😂
My Saturn is running fine then goes into limp mode I wonder if it’s the fuel filter
That should be the AX15, at least that’s what my 99 has in it
some interesting socket/wrench sizes involved, sounds easier just to cut through the bolts, but they're all grade 8, right? 36mm 6point socket for the axle nut 24mm 21mm 15mm 18mm 10mm
Hey any other tips?
I'm buying a 1988 at an auction. All it needs is a fuel pump. $280.😂😂😂🎉
my toyota matrix died before the vibe lol
I have 2004 ion 2. Bought it new. Has 114,000 miles. Had some kind of ignition issue at 95k. Cracked a valve. Cracked valve took out valve seat. The head doesn't have valve seats. So had to put a new head on it. I almost wrote it off. Can nearly purchase a car for the price of that repair. They replaced the timing chain when that happened. Didn't mention any other parts. Tensoner or guides. Did run quieter after all that. Less clicking. Oh, also got new spark plugs. They were really filthy. I didn't get to see them though. I replaced my arm rest with a thing from Saturn that didn't have the padded rest. Just a place to set some sun glasses. The rest kept getting in the way. Couldn't shift without hitting my elbow. My rear seat releases don't latch.
Shouldn't you be getting 12v on the side marker light with your tester?
I think you missed out on showing us the first half of the job. You cut up original pieces of your car and didn't show it. That's the part I'm most nervous about and want to see someone else do first before I do.
I BROUGHT IT FROM ROCK AUTO FOR THE SAME REASON IT WAS CHEAP
I just changed mine out today. What a big difference. Thanks for this vid. Who ever welded that control arm in your video should go back to school lol . I need to change out the wishbone control arm in the rear. There is so much chattering in the rear when going over street cracks or bumps. So far changing out the front lower CA makes a big difference
What size gauge wire did you use to connect the drl to the turn signal?
18 or 16 gauge, I can’t remember
@@randomtallguyvlogs6756 Thank you bro!
What about alignment?
Yes you would need an alignment after
❤
geniall
Fold flat front seat also
Just bought a 2004 with 68k miles. Amazing car. All you need for the price and the reliability.
I hope you bought it. My Vibe has 235,000 miles on her right now. She is still going strong.
QUESTION. Did you have easy access to remove the oil pan with all that removed? I want to do front suspension like you did as well as replace the gasket on my oil pan. Thanks!
Yes, definitely if you’re gonna remove the front differential like I did, that would definitely create a lot of space for you to remove the oil pan.
"Cheap plastics" have you seen the new vehicles?
This is great! I've been trying to find videos to replace different stuff on my jeep, and this was perfect for replacing the thermostat!
If you don't like the look of these cars do you like the look of the Toyota Matrix ?
I am fairly certain you Installed the fulcrum bolts and push rods wrong. After you install the rocker arm fulcrum bolt and pushrod you then turn the crankshaft until the lifter is all the way down then tighten the fulcrum bolt to the torque listed in the chapter's specification in two stages. You cant just instal the rods without moving the lifters that they sit in.
I think you installed the push rods in rock arms wrong.
Hey hey. Tha ks for the video. You done a fine job. Now my daughter and I are going out side to do this now.
Hey hey we got them in. It's got more get up and go now. Thanks again!
Ford TSB 03-22-10 may be worth looking into.
Doesn't look like I'm in for a fun time at all 😂
Nice brother
Thanks bro
I have a question I have a 2003 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo it bounces all over the place in a bad lower control arm cause that
I think you would get more of a shaking issue vs a bouncing issue. I’ll recommend checking the springs and shocks first
Thank you, good video
I just bought a black 05 awd for a grand. Now i need to convince the mechanic to replace some bearings instead of the whole differential😂. Will need a rear subframe in a couple years if anyone has one to sell.
Is my 93 in the same location
I believe so, if you don’t see it in the trunk then it’s in the fuel tank
@RandomTallGuyVlogs Good product review, may I know if it's ok for you to review our foam cannon S V3.0?Thanks a lot in advance!😊
No problem !!
So good,details have sent out,thanks in advance!@@randomtallguyvlogs6756
Great video - thanks for posting! I'm gonna try to replace the head on my Ranger soon... when the weather warms up a bit. It's got a dead cylinder, probably due to a stuck valve. After watching your video - I think I can do it!
Best of luck! 🤞
Another great video Would you happen to have the part number for the lower bolt?
I’ve never had a problem removing my fan clutch on any of my rangers just put your big wrench on the nut and whack it with a hammer down and towards the right on revers threds
Hey quick question I have a different car but I had to switch the lower controller arm is been lose and making my car shake i did tighten it again but is lose again is it cause i didn’t use the torque wrench? anyways i definitely missed that but love the vid!
is there a reason you didnt replace the axles when you had it apart?
Well, my axles were still good and the CV boots were still good. But I should have since I’m already there lol
Bought mine new in 2003. Still driving it. 145000km, drives like new. Watch for rust under the rear glass hatch
About to look at a 2005 vibe tomorrow with 78k he wants a little bit over4
Too bad you're not in Florida. I put Gladiator wheels on my Commander and old set is in pretty good shape with no chrome peeling. You can have them.
So i understand the mopar fluid already has the friction modifier mixed in by the manufacturer? Thanks :)
