why¿
I'm going to be honest with you, I have these lights on my 2011 Honda Accord and the lighting at night is garbage. I honestly don't recommend buying them.
Is there programming that needs to be done after installation?
I installed a set of these on my wife's 2005 Mazda 6 (North American, Canada.) Fitment was very good though I had to trim a boss from a plastic piece on the car as it interfered with the passenger-side housing (the boss served as a mounting point for a small wiring harness retainer clip near the washer bottle filler neck) and its absence won't be missed. Once trimmed the passenger side fit perfectly. Beams are bright and the pattern is very even; the adjusters didn't need to be touched as the aim right out of the box was spot on. I noticed a receptacle on the back of each headlight with only one pin populated and didn't think much of them. Later I found a harness in the box with a single wire and two plugs that would plug into these receptacles. I didn't see any explanation of these plugs nor this harness in the accompanying booklet. Does the wire connect to an underhood circuit, switched 12V or to the battery or ... ? I tested it by connecting it to the battery; the "DRL" strip at the bottom came on so it looks like it's an optional DRL connection from a switched 12V source. On my wife's Canadian-spec car the three LEDs come on as DRLs (the strip is off) and when I turn the headlights on the LEDs brighten and the strip comes on. Can VLAND clarify that this is expected? One thing I noticed in its current configuration is that with all three main LED lights acting as the DRLs there is noticeable flicker from both. I suspect it's because power to the "low beam" input in DRL mode is chopped (PWM) or passed through a resistor from the car resulting in marginal power to the VLAND LED controller causing this flicker. When the headlights are switched on the lights brighten and are steady (no flicker.) These headlights look great on the car and really restore the overall appearance compared to the 19 year old yellowed and oxidized OE headlights.
Too bad these only work for the RS and SS. I bought them for my 2017 Camaro, which is a LT and all the back and forth with you about adding resistors, well needless to say, I never got them to stop hyperflashing, they’re still sitting in the box from a year ago.
Wait i got an LT and im about to buy them this is why im here. Whats the problem exactly? Also have you found other tail lights that work with LT?
@@shrimpff no, I never got them to work. Tons and tons of researched has told me that, the RS, SS, and ZL1s computer are setup for L.E.Ds all around, headlights, taillights etc. So you can easily swap for L.E.Ds. But the LT has regular bulbs, which means the computer is setup for them. The difference is, they both have a way different voltage draw, so when you put leds in place, the computer doesn’t recognize the voltage and it thinks your light is burned out, which causes the hyper flash. Everyone says all you have to do is hook up an inline voltage resistor. I have tried every combination, talked with vland many times, they’ve even sent me their own resistors, said I mighta bought the wrong ones, nothing world fix the hyper flashing. No I am in able to find compatible tail lights that have the directional turn signals, why, because of them being L.E.Ds and my computer in my LT is set for the standard bulb, which again, the issue is the voltage difference between them, and my computer not recognizing such a low voltage coming from the leds. Good luck, hopefully you can figure it out if you get a pair. Absolutely wished I coulda made them work, they’re cool as hell.
How long is the cable? I need to purchase only the wiring, harness, where can I find it?
Why does the black box with the m3 strips gets hot? And is it dangerous?
Hi in video mark 5:55 , could you please explain more where you are passing the wiring through the sheet metal? As I understand there are no open holes in that area? I believe there are only vents with flaps. Are you passing it through the vent flap? If that is the case then what happens to water getting in this area if the vent flap is never closed because of the wiring? I have a concern here.
