Great effort by those who participated. But shame on those so-called fishermen who left all the rubbish in the first place.

I'll put that in my proposal, cheers, I'll follow the link in your description.... oh it's not there.. I assume it's this www.dbca.wa.gov.au/management/plans/proposed-south-coast-marine-park I'll be voting for more marine sustainability for my children, so they can fish in the future.

The last comment is dead right .. the government doesnt care about our future or our kids future. Bringing up kids to teach them to fish is flaming expensive at the moment. So many unrealistic rules to comply by , the amount of fishing rods you can have to the amount of hooks your allowed. Leave alone the licences you need. What is wrong with a great day fishing from the beach or boat and not worrying about how much its going cost.

Doesn’t make any difference at all the only way to make this government listen to the experts and people , is by voting them out .

So Santos is funding the artificial reefs as their way of giving back after they destroy the real reef? What a joke.

We spent a whole week along the Esperance coast from Town to Duke. In the 7 days we were there we saw 1 other fisherman fishing along the whole coast due to weather conditions. The only places possible were protected by land as the easterly blew all week. On TV the other week the minister of fisheries was questioned about a species of fish in a picture, She was unable to name the let alone give reasons why it was being banned and did not even know it came in three different colours. It was noted at the hearing the minister of fisheries was banning fish she could not even name. As the over fishing of beaches in the Esperance region it is some what a mystery as 3 out of the 6 days there was not a person fishing of the beach

Its crazy to think that people that have no idea about our coastline, or how any ACTUAL days a year we can get out to fish, are making decisions like this

The state government seem to be pushing to stop fishing in the state as a mitigation strategy for building a big new port south of Perth, and the proposed wind farms all over Geographe Bay.

These left wingers of Western Australia are rapidly becoming a dictorial state. We, the voters, have no say. Those who were elected to govern this state are not governing for the people. The minister for fisheries is actually a fish out of water himself. Bloody disgraceful mate.

This Government hasn't consulted with anybody Forestry, Fishing, Charter Boats, Firearms and 4WD etc. They sit in offices in Perth with shiny bums never bothering to talk to anybody and make these decisions. How many livelihoods have they ruined. They won't even talk to the peak bodies who are comprised of experts in their fields like Recfishwest and WAFCA. With Firearms Papalia has said get another hobby. How out of touch are these people - yes they control the Parliament but they are still answerable to the public. It has been well proven the health benefits of fishing. I dont know about you guys even if I wasn't catching anything the body experience calming down with rod in hand (maybe a tinnie) was so soothing and refreshing. Nature at its best.

Those who make these decisions don't appear to differentiate between the types of recreational fishing. Beach fishing is often a complete release for built up stress and other potential mental health issues. Beach fishing generally has low catch volumes and would have minimal impact on the general fish population. Appropriate targeted management is good for all.

IMO has more to do with banning all access to places where you can gain a feed as a time is coming one will have a forced to gain for a feed if you comply. rangers will patrol from SA to NT if you are not a part of them people "access denied"
