Thanks, man. Good tips. I was wondering where you got your door panels from. Just bought a '98 Z3M and am needing to replace the door panels and other interior parts. Thanks.

It is always trouble! I found that you have to check the place around the vertical window frame: once it is in, the rest follows..

Randomly found this video! I think I bought the door panels from you in Sacramento?

About that tab... You aren't supposed to installed the panel into it. You remove the rubber trim and slide it onto the door panel. It took me two hours to figure that out. Other than that, these instructions are pretty good.

so you mean: take the rubber out, than insert the panel, and then insert the rubber on top of that? Is that possible?

@@w.manders2817 No. First you lower the window so you can pry out the rubber. The rubber is not held on by much more than friction. Once you have the the rubber out, you will be able to slide the rubber onto the door panel. What Billy calls the "tab" will fit into the rubber. What you do is slide the rubber over that "tab." Once that rubber is in place on the door panel, you can simply put the door panel into place.

@@yayday I am happy to hear that. I was hoping to save somebody else that trouble.

I'm about 90 minutes into it, and neither approach has worked for me -- seal on the door, or seal on the panel. Neither one is remotely easy. Just watched this video and I think Billy's approach of angling from the front will be key for me.
