Thanks for posting this! I used to work in a machine shop but never saw how rotors were machined. Just did a brake job where the rotors were machined and now I understand why one of them was returned to me with .010" runout!

This machine is way better than the Coats 1250. The Hunter GSP9700 is easier to operate and learn.

If you balance a wheel and it comes out ok, take it off the mount and try it again should it be ok? my tire guys says it impossible to remount and see if it is still ok. Thank you for time you took to explain all this

Since the measurement for the outside of the wheel lip surface is essentially just a way for the machine to know the width of the wheel (the outside measurement function became available at the same point in time as we no longer had to measure the wheel width with the calipers) , is there a way to enter the width of the wheel if it happens to be stamped on the wheel somewhere?

That last and vey important step ( smooth the surface with sand paper) is what I should say should be done with the same machine, so not wearing so quickly a brand new originals oem braking pads, that for sure star an unevem surface again an so on , and you will realize that changing brand new rotors is cheaper amd ypu always have a brake sysytem with fuul power ready for any braking emergency. I appreciate this good video, and good luck

Looks like too much work for on-car. Someone with less skill or badly calibrated machine can ruin the rotor anyway. I see in the comments, people do have positive points about it. But what if the rotor was installed not on the clean surface and so on.. It is always better to take it off and clean inside. + for the customer, save some now, it can rust-in even more. Especially for mazda I would want to pull that rotor off and clean inside. They sometimes rust-in badly, to the point of need to cut that rotor to remove..

As a mechanic I say its way to complex to balance a wheel! We have a Schenk balance machine for about 35 years never had isuses with balance a wheel! The biggest problem from this kind of machines is the horizontal axle!! In industries the always work with vertical axles this machine hunter en all of others clones the are not good build, what do you think when the roll make presure on the vertical axle more difference you have and thats wat you don’t want when you balancing!

I will reply ONCE about some comments about the old school machine that involves labor intensive is simple to operate, etc. I very much disagree with below common the older tire changing machine is better; specifically, the commentators are missing at least few points: Using the older tire change machine meaning users have more chance to get injury, take more efforts, make you tired after changing several dozen tires, and take MUCH more time using the old school tire changing machine! On the contrary, using ****FULLY automatic *Hunter's Revolution Tire Changing machine, the three points I have stated will make substantial improvements; needless to say, after viewing the Hunter's FULLY automatic tire changing machine, it is my intention to purchase the Hunter's machine when N if I have auto repair shop, possibility. I *intend to purchase Hunter's Fully automatic tire changing machine and no fuss n mass n MOST importantly NO injury risk, one has to ask for it! There will be lot less energy required also that can be used to repair other vehicles' issues! It is NOT take too long to learn know how to push some dozen buttons, one time, and Hunter's full automatic tire change machine WILL *NOT have deadly injury NOT once but **EVERY TIRE CHANGE while INCREASING productivity, and employees' satisfaction of work due to **far less efforts required to change tire after tire after tire, etc. and do NOT forget time saving meaning change to earn more revenue repairing other vehicles, which time is money in any business operation!

why would you use a strip of 1/4oz weights and spread them out over a large area and not use a heavier weight and place it where the machine is telling you. You are causing inaccurate readings

Wish it showed the measuring step because I was told we should measure drum brakes before machining to see how much we can machine off. I suppose that's a different video to look for :(
