HVAC technician in NC. Just decided to post some HVAC videos to try and help new techs, as the older experienced techs like myself, are getting closer to being out of the field and no longer being a phone call away. Now we will be a video away. “We will never know everything, but maybe what we do know will help.”

Not even worth it. Stop teaching this nonsense to younger techs.
This was super cool. Thanks!
“Maybe some refrigerant…” *EPA has entered the chat*
Now these are the vids us exp techs want to see. Thank you for taking the time
Last year I bought the InfiRay P2 based on your vid/ recommendation. Is this TP2 better in your opinion or about the same? I’m always interested in your opinions. As we now say in America, gracias!
Bought the same. This one has the Bluetooth option. I will still use the p2.
Those are junk, unfortunately, I've had them, and eventually they mess up the refrigerant levels. They make a 90* low-loss fittings that they sell at every supply house...they work perfectly.
How far you can target it with ?
?
All that did was blow the obstruction away for a moment. It will clog back soon. Clean the obstruction and problem solved. This happens to furnaces with AC alot. You have to clean the rust out of the drip pan. Or the debris from what ever that tube was being clogged by.
Dynamite works in a pinch.
We had a home warranty when we purchased our home, and used it twice both techs were a scam, never again. Do yourself a favor and prepare yourself for any major appliance in your house to completely fail find out replacement cost and work towards saving that money, you can start with an emergency credit card just don’t use it unless you absolutely have to
It's some kind of LG that grows in that pipe.
Please use caution! A technician used compressed air to clear a clog for the unit below me. The tech accidentally blew air up my condensate drain instead and made a huge mess that spilled out into the hallway
Home warranty companies can only find cheap companies full of idiots because they pay little per call
R-12 works the best to unclog!
You lost me at the Goodman bashing. 41 years in the trade and I find just as many Trane, Lennox and Carriers failed as Goodmans. Coils from 2006 era were leakers but are long gone. Its a bad installer, not Goodman.
I did something like this recently. But instead I used a wet shop vac at the outlet on the sump pump.
I think they call that a back flush?
Thats a badly burnt contactor. got to be short cycling.
I had a ex that would do that
Must be American Home Shield
Who tf would do an upflow in this setting? The dumbassery I see daily is astounding.
Most units use Copeland scroll compressors. An ofm is an ofm. Differences between brands are minimal. Brand bashers simply are novice installers that can’t read a micron gage or properly size a system
Thanks guy .. I appreciate it
Very nice video again
Nice work 😮😊gooomana
They have the black version of that umbrella on sale at Virginia Air off Yonkers Road
And dont be a dumbass like me and drop it while cleaning it
How are you taking superheat and sub cooling with no temp clamps
No definitely do no use refrigerant ffs
Thats some awesome job security advice right there 😅
I’m glad that you’re talking about this because I did a little bit of work for a month for Home Warranty company and then I said hell no never again! I’m too damn good lol
I'm sure that would be a de minimis amount of refrigerant lol.
Where I need to put my manometer to check the tesp in tam7 air handler units??
Wonder what the coil looks like now
Just ran into my first micro channel coil leak, never have done one or practiced on my own but going to go ahead n go for it n try to repair. Feel good enough to be able to do it, wish me luck! Great video
Still watching video heard you say you still going to swap it out, do you recommend still swapping it out even after a repair or you just swamping since it’s under warranty?
The transfer of warranty should be automatic
No way should it be automatically transferred, they need to know who's the owner and if it's being used as a single family residential , or a B&B mabeya even a multi family home.
I pickup a new tip on every one of your videos. Thank you for the effort you put into making them, they have been very useful to me!
What about the condenser are you going to hose it down for the owner
😂
Why do people think it’s a good idea to put these systems in the attic? I will never understand the south’s obsession with it, In the Midwest they go in the basement, or in a little closet on the main floor. Architects and builders who do this should be brought behind the shed imo
It was built an a slab. Popular here these days.
@@myHVAClife We have a ton on slabs around here too, and typically they just go with a mechanical closet or in the same room as washer/drier. I totally get the reason, I just don’t think it’s a good enough reason lmao. Hats off to you guys down there though, this is a hard enough trade without having to crawl around in a hot attic for every call.
@@soulman4292 I would be elated to have all mechanical rooms and basements, but unfortunately around here we’re stuck primarily with hot attics and dirty crawlspaces. But I can assure you that gets figured into the bill.
@@myHVAClife I would certainly hope so, because the rare times I have to get up or down into one, it’s an extra charge. F that homie
I use a shop vac every time. Always works.
Ummm that pan is already gone. Hopefully not but Maintenance is the key 2xs a year to keep your homeowner insurance company claims down. Very true with this rust.
Love your videos, thank you
That clog is still in there, you just shifted it enough to let the water drain.
15ft column off water sitting behind it flushed it out. This video was last summer and we have not been back for another drain issue. Have done 2 maintenance visits since and it is draining fine.
How did water get in the pan. Why not use another safety switch in the overflow 😊
EZ TRAP failed again. Was stuck closed.
@@myHVAClifeeverything is crappie 😊
@@myHVAClife junk
Great tip
White Vinegar works for me
In your opinion, what would you rate as a good, better, and best for brand or system selection on a split system with a gas furnace? I respect your opinion and appreciate your expertise. Thank you for all the education you have provided me through your videos!
Thank you! I will always recommend a 2 stage furnace, GOOD 16 seer ac with 2 stage furnace, BETTER 2 stage 18 seer a/c with 2 stage furnace, BEST duel fuel 2 stage 18 seer heat pump with 2 stage furnace back up. Best advice keep it simple so it can be fixed same day if you have a problem. No one keeps parts on the truck for these over complicated communicating systems.
@@myHVAClife That makes a lot of sense. I like the dual fuel option for their "best" and honestly have not thought about that as an alternate offering. Which brands do you lean towards? Thank you!
This tool put some air into the system. Not very well
Not an accurate statement
Thanks for showing.
