You replaced the updated threaded design starters (1996+) with the older, far worse design. The reason the threaded design is preferred is once it's on there, taking the tranny on and off is a lot easier because you don't have to fidget and get creative with putting the nuts on the other side. It's just held on by the tranny hex bolts and nothing else. You don't need to take off the intake manifold. I would NEVER put on the old design for that reason. I would literally wait and buy a different starter because I know its going to turn into a nightmare job.

Hey, thank you for this video! Do you still have this Navara STX 550? How is catch can going...I mean, how often do you need to empty it? I have the same engine and a ton of oil through intercooler, so I am planning to install catch can, too.

Ever figure out what to do about the tie rod situation? I’m in the same boat as you. Please let me know thanks. Make a vid about it iF you can. You’d be the first to really explain how to make the E90 inner work if you did. There’s no vids on how to do it.

  • @davidandrews6935

So e90 inners are to long to work with e46 lower arms, so what I did was cut and extend the stock ones by 20mm, I ran that set up for 2 events and found that the e36 arms are too fat, so I pulled them out and replaced them with 60mm extended stock e36 arms which then I could then use the e90 inner tie rods with 20mm cut off them! Hope this helps!
